Fringe - Seth Gabel Promoted to Series Regular
11 May 2011
Cancelled Shows
Sources confirm to TVLine exclusively that the actor — who has recurred the last two seasons as Bolivia’s “Over There” colleague, Lincoln Lee — will return in Season 4 as a full-fledged series regular.
Good. I was intrigued by his brief appearance "over here" and want to know what he is up to or what he knows!
ReplyDeleteThat's REALLY cool news :). I can only hope that the same will be done for Kirk Acevedo. Charlie was always one of my favourite characters and, with Scarlie appearing regularly, I don't see why he wouldn't.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm the only one who doesn't love him.
ReplyDeleteI don't find over there Lincoln as awesome as most either. I can take or leave him. For some reason I am assuming it will be our Lincoln and not red universe's....
ReplyDeleteSweet! Lincoln is awesome
ReplyDeleteIt isn't a matter of loving or not loving him. He's a little odd, but a nice addition to the team. Thematically, he was a nice bit of "What if a life-changing opportunity never actually arose" (namely that because Peter existed, he never got to join Fringe division). He's also relatively amusing, adding some much needed levity (though, again, I REALLY would have preferred this news be about Charlie).
ReplyDeleteYeah!
ReplyDeleteI hope it will be Over There Lincoln.
Cool but i would like to see Charlie too...
ReplyDeleteI KNEW IT, I KNEW IT !
ReplyDeleteFrom the moment he appeared in our blue world in episode 3.17, I knew they would make him a regular cast member in season 4 (and that's before he said to Peter "it was fun, if you have any other cases like this, call me" at the end of that episode).
I should have bet money about that, somewhere. But then I also said the season would end with Bolivia's death and her baby raised by Olivia (I don't know, I liked the idea), so I wasn't completely right.
It's very nice, Seth Gabel is a great actor, he contributed to make me cry in episode 3.18 when Bolivia gave birth.
Yessssssssssss =))) loveeee lincon....both!
ReplyDeleteIt will be over here Lincoln for sure... he'll take Peter's place while everyone figures out something is different, and someone is missing (namely, Peter).
ReplyDeleteBut will Peter return?
ReplyDeleteYes. Of course. A) He's still a series regular and B) The writers aren't idiots lol. They know what they're doing.
ReplyDeleteHated Lincoln at first. But I like him a lot now. Glad to hear this.
ReplyDeleteYes for crying out loud.
ReplyDeleteAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI AM SOOO FRIGGIN HAPPY. SETH GABEL IS FREAKING AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!
(Now all we need is Alt-Charlie back in the regulars) ;)
CELEBRATION!!!!
Avecedo will star in Prime Suspect, which seems likely to be picked up and I'm glad to see him regularly again (also hope the show itself will be worth watching). So it's highly unlikely he'll get a lot of screen time next season.
ReplyDeleteEver since he was killed off I didn't watch Fringe on such a regular basis anymore.
Yes! I love his character, so dorky and funny yet awesome at the same time! Plus, his performance during the Fauxlivia birth scene was easily one of the best performances this year!
ReplyDeleteOMG FINALLY. I'm so happy *o*
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing he wont be on every 22 episodes of season 4.
ReplyDeleteIf this isn't a balant insult to Joshua Jackson, I don't know what is.
ReplyDeleteIf you would read the interviews you would know that Josh is coming back next year in full season regular capacity, so stop your whining.
ReplyDeleteAnd Henry, they should blow up all cars in both universes except Henry's cab, just so Henry can come back.
ReplyDeleteThat's not the point, people will love lincoln more than peter!
ReplyDeleteBecause they have nothing better to do with their time. That`s the only thing that matters - insulting Joshua Jackson. WAKE UP
ReplyDeleteI would think any actor would realize that they are vehicles to tell the story, not the story themselves all the time. Peter will take a back seat for a bit perhaps and then there will be strawberry milkshake parades on his return.
ReplyDeleteHardly an insult... just the job.
Different people choose different favorite characters. Boo-hoo. Again, stop your whining.
ReplyDeleteThat`s bullshit. For example I love all characters. But the story is the important part. Peter is very important character and they are going to bring him back. For example Bell is very important character too and he`s just in about 10 episodes so far. I know...Bell`s portrayer is not Joshua Jackson so that makes him less interesting for some people.
ReplyDeleteBut Lincoln will be Lincoln...he won`t become a Peter.
Wonderful, Peter will take a backseat for the second year in a row and Josh will be unable to show what he can do while people will praise Anna, John and seth?
ReplyDeleteIn what way did Peter take a "back seat" this year, did you not notice that the WHOLE season revolved around him and the machine?
ReplyDeleteGOD, you really are a hell of a loonie :-D
ReplyDeleteYou are aware that Lincoln, as a character, specifically deals with the question of "What If a life-changing opportunity never actually arose." In our universe, Peter works as a sciene guy for Fringe Division. I the other universe, it was Lincoln who fills that role.
ReplyDeleteAlso, dude, I like Peter. A lot. He may be my favourite character... But why bother watching an ensemble show for one person alone? Olivia, Lincoln, Broyles, Walter, Nina, and Astrid all matter too.
Probably not :-D. He/She was probably scanning every move of Joshua`s face muscles so he/she didn`t focus on the story at all :-D
ReplyDeleteI love both Lee , and Seth is really very good actor too ..... hummm, please .. just please don't let him a lover for Olivia ... no ....
ReplyDeleteWho is getting all the EMMY BUZZ right now? John and Anna are and seth was nominated for Saturn award!
ReplyDeleteOK, now you are just being ridiculous. Look at the show as a whole: I love the character of Peter Bishop, but I don't feel that Josh's performance is deserving of an Emmy. John has deserved a win for years, and Anna was a standout this year. Also, as far as guest-stars go, whether you want to admit it or not, Seth Gabel did an excellent job.
ReplyDeleteSo good for them, they deserve it. As for Josh, I give you a quote Dan Radcliffe just said after not being nominated for a Tony award: " I think I speak for 99 percent of actors when I say that the reason we do this job, while it’s lovely to get recognized by your peers, it’s not the reason why we do it. The people that do this job for awards and recognition are kind of worshiping at the wrong altar, and I’m not really quite sure if I want to know those people."
What do the prices get to do with it? Do you need a Saturn award or EMMY to know who is a good actor? No. Nobody does (at least I think). It doesn`t matter to me if someone from the regular cast gets an EMMY or Saturn or whatever. What matters to me is that I know they all are great actors. Anna, John, Josh, Lance, Jasika, Blair... They all are great. And as long as they keep doing this show we will enjoy a great hour a week watching them.
ReplyDeleteWe won't miss you!
ReplyDeleteWhatever, I am done with this show anyways. These writers have treated Josh like crap all year long.
ReplyDeleteIf he was not okay with it, he`d quit and would not appear in the next season. But I think rational thinking is not something you know :-D
ReplyDeleteWalter is the only person to do that, so no surprise there :)
ReplyDeleteThat's really great news. He is my favourite actor in Fringe.
ReplyDeleteShe's baaacccckkkkk! Don't try to debate her rationally, it doesn't work. Just get out the popcorn and enjoy until she gets banned again! ;)
ReplyDeleteYAY! Best news ever! I love Lincoln!
ReplyDeleteGreat news!! I think he's an awesome character! Decent actor, too!
ReplyDeleteYou need to give it up already. I'm guessing you're the same person who's always here moaning about how you're Peter/Josh's only fan and how Anna Torv and John Noble are the devil for being praised for being good actors. It's extremely obnoxious and I'm sure I'm not the only one who rolls their eyes every time they see a comment by you.
ReplyDeletelol seriously no matter what handle she goes by it's always so obnoxiously obvious it's her again. Pass the popcorn ;)
ReplyDeleteNo, you're not.
ReplyDeleteShe is :-D
ReplyDelete:D :D :D
ReplyDeleteI just screamed from delight! Lincoln is easily one of my favorite characters, and if Peter isn't going to be there- at least not in the same way he was- it will be great to have Lincoln around. September is going to be even harder to wait for now!
People from Vancouver: Please take some set photos in july, august and september. We`re gonna need some spoilers :-D. You`ve been great by taking them last few months...so keep up the good work :-D
ReplyDeleteWill try! :D Filming starts again in July?
ReplyDeleteMore Lincoln, hooray! But I hope his screen-time doesn't cut into Astrid, Broyles, or Nina. I want to know more about Astrid's life; give her a storyline already! Too bad Kirk Acevedo has that other show to work on; hope Alt-Charlie doesn't die as a result. My thoughts are everywhere...
ReplyDeleteGood news! This should be one heck of an interesting season. I can only imagine that he'll be Altlivia's love interest, at least until she meets Peter and remembers him. That's my wild theory, anyway.
ReplyDeleteProbably. I don`t know for sure, but that`s when they usually start, right?
ReplyDeleteSweet. That's just great. Lincoln Lee has grown to be a pretty great addition to Fringe, (both versions of him.)
ReplyDeleteLOL
ReplyDeleteYour comment just made my day.
I think you meant "blatant" by the way.
Or because she's the main character of the show. Quit bitching like an incessant loon, please. Or watch something else. There's always Dawson's Creek on DVD if you REALLY miss Joshua...
ReplyDeleteWhat 'bout Fauxlive?
ReplyDeleteHe can be a regular for BOTH sides of the universes...
And I don't think our Lincoln Lee shared any sort of inkling that he really even knows Olivia after that 1 episode he had this season...I don't suspect that's a problem...
I could be wrong but I believe one of the perks of being contracted as a regular is that you get paid whether you're in the episode or not. With that in mind they will try to write him into as many episodes as possible.
ReplyDeleteYay! He totally deserves to be a main character.
ReplyDeleteYEAH MAN.
ReplyDeleteI would love Charlie back as a regular too, which is why they will probably be focusing on over--here Lincoln more... otherwise I am sure that they would have promoted Kirk too.
ReplyDeleteNope, you're right. But as others have speculated that he will be "replacing" Peter on the team, at least for a few episodes perhaps, he will probably be in a good chunk of them. Especially in the first half, I think. (It's all speculation at this point though, obviously!)
ReplyDeleteI don't like Altolivia and i don't really want to hurt my mind thinking about her ! no matter what .. but i guess she is still there just to sacrifice herself for Olivia ,
ReplyDeleteI think Lee maybe married to Altolivia or something , because Frank left her ... she has Henry from X-man she saw it at the bar remember ;)
You are totally wrong F.P.F , anna torv is amazing because she is acting by amazing way , try and re-watch Marionette and see how she can express the true feelings of the character , try and re-watch all the seasons and see how she is getting excellent and excellent .
ReplyDeletethat has nothing to do with getting 2 characters or not , Anna is really brilliant and she is a female actress you can't compare her with a male actor i guess and that's why in emmy .. we have best lead actress and best lead actor .
Anna is the best lead actress for the year 2011 even if she ( God forbid) didn't get it .. we all are knowing she deserves it by fact .
Don't talk to me Mrs.,
ReplyDeleteI'm sure NONE of you would be mocking me if it was Walter or OIivia who never existed and THEY were being replaced by either Walternate or AltOlivia.
ReplyDelete@facebook-1366129384:disqus I was reading that as I was sipping coffee and I thought you were requesting photos of August and September the Observers! Ha! I was wondering if you were trying to stalk some bald-headed know it alls or something.....
ReplyDeleteWhew! Just after spoilers.... I feel much better now!
Fine , but i don't get your hinting by Mrs. ,
ReplyDeleteAny way .. the rating are low not from the actor/actress .
That's not what you said over at Fringebloggers.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the others, thats a bit of a silly sentiment, they are both vastly different characters.
ReplyDeleteI already replied but I should point out that Peter is my favourite character. I like Walter, I think he's slightly overrated and whilst I also like Olivia, I think she is actually the weakest part of the ensemble. However as the reviews have plainly stated (spoiler) that not only will JJ be back next season the main question is about him, I think you have gone flying off on a tangent which is ridiculous in the first place. Take a step back, see that Lincoln Lee is only going to add to the cast, as he has done in his episodes so far.
ReplyDeleteIm really glad about this. I hope its cool altLincoln we get the most of. I think that would be cool. I don't really like the naive boring "man in suit" Lincoln. Although I can see the naivety storyline being easier to make than anything with altLincoln.
ReplyDeletePlease go away.
