I assumed, but grrrrr. It had grown on me. This could be the first of a somewhat long and painful list of CBS cancellations for many people this week.... sigh.
CM:SB was growing on me, also. I'm hoping The Good Wife does NOT get cancelled. Particularly now I know some of the ideas for S3 which sound intriguing.
That makes me so happy, I must have missed that on Deadline though, I 've seen on comments here that a multi-year deal is in the works, but that just can't be true.
Because despite comments to the contrary, the spin-off was probably the reason that AJ and Paget were let go for absolutely no reason. The back-door pilot sucked. I'm just happy it's gone.
I'm sad to see SB go; it was a decent premise and had potential if the writers had just loosened up a bit. The team chemistry was there and the cases were better than what we've been getting on the original...
I casually liked the show, the only really interesting characters to me were Sam, and the agent that killed a serial killer, can't remember his name. other than that, I won't miss it, in fact now maybe Ed Bernero can focus on what is broken as of late...Criminal Minds.
There's no doubt that Paget and AJ's firings (and that's what they were) was due to the spin off. Nina Tassler flat out admitted in an interview that it was because of the spin off that they decided to revamp the original.
I'm not entirely surprised. However good an actor Forest Whitaker might be (I haven't seen him in anything else, I don't think) he just didn't seem to fit that role. I have been watching it, I only hope that Matt Ryan can get another role in something else!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteDeadline says TGW isn't in danger
ReplyDeleteSo, are they torturing fans on purpose until Upfronts or what? The wait is rather agonising.

ReplyDeleteNot every spin-off is succesfull.... :/
ReplyDeleteCan I say that your comment makes no sense? Why wish a show you don't watch anyway gone? I think that's pretty low.

ReplyDeleteI'm cool with this. Now someone sign Beau Garrett to a show that doesn't stink. :)

ReplyDeleteI'm so pleased. This was one that never should've happened in the first place.

ReplyDeleteSuch a shame! It was shaping up to be a great show. The finale was awesome! Disappointed, CBS!
