the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. has ordered to pilot Wish List, a one hour drama from Canuck TV scribe Sean Reycraft (Being Erica, The Vampire Dairies).
Indie Entertainment One is producing.
The homegrown drama follows Kara, a wife and mother who decides to reconnect with her daughter and mother-in-law after losing her husband.
While on a road trip, the three women arrive in a small town where everyone throws coins in the local wishing well so that someone’s wish can be granted.
After Sam, the daughter, steals the coins, all three women are condemned to make amends by staying in the town and granting wishes, no matter how big or small.
And as they attempt to realize the town's wishes, the three women learn that their own dreams can be realized in the most unexpected ways and places.
Los Angeles-based show-runner Reycraft will show-run the pilot for Entertainment One and the CBC, Canada’s public broadcaster.
“Sean is a such a talented and gifted writer. When you see the pilot, you will see his voice and sensibility,” Rachel Fulford, vp of creative affairs at Entertainment One, said Friday.
No word on casting, which is just getting underway.

Eh. That doesn't sound all that interesting to me.
ReplyDeletethis sounds so interesting! I hope it makes it to series!
ReplyDeleteSounds like an entire series based on the episode "Wishful Thinking" (4x08) of Supernatural to me.
ReplyDeleteIt made for an okay episode, but a full series about it?? Meh....
can someone tell me wht the hell r thy talking about????
ReplyDeleteThat pilot synopsis makes no sense.
ReplyDelete"After Sam, the daughter, steals the coins, all
three women are condemned to make amends by staying in the town and
granting wishes, no matter how big or small."Um, how? This synopsis went from the simple concept of a wishing well to something or someone having the power to condemn a group of people and confine them without any explanation.
*yawn*
