Ever since Emily Deschanel’s pregnancy was announced in March, Bones fans have been wondering how her fall due date will affect the show. Now that the Fox drama has finally received a season 7 pickup, that’s something producers are in the process of deciding — both in terms of story and production schedule. “I imagine that you’re gonna see Brennan behind a microscope a lot next season. I think there’s gonna be a lot of close-ups of Brennan. I said I’d work though my hiatus, but we didn’t have a pick up until now, and they have to write before we shoot. It’s a whole situation,” Deschanel tells EW, with a laugh. “They have to see how long it takes them to write episodes. I think we’ll have our normal schedule starting in July or something, but I don’t know. We just had an email about that [yesterday]. Like, ‘We don’t know… but these are possibilities.”
The bigger question for viewers, of course, is whether Brennan will become pregnant as well. “I don’t know. I feel like that would change things so much,” she says. “I am not gonna say no — never say never, I guess — but I think it’s unlikely. But only time will tell … How to address [my pregnancy] is a hard thing. I threw them a curveball personally, but you know, that’s life.”

I'm torn on this. It's hilarious to see them hide pregnant actresses behind various props, at the same time, I wouldn't mind a Booth/Brennan baby. Wouldn't want anyone else to be the father.
ReplyDeleteI am thinking that would complicate matters too much for season 7. Especially with Angela and Hodgins just having a baby. I think it would be better story wise not to have another baby on the show.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be cute to see them gush over the baby and then decide to have a BB baby later, but the fangirl side of me would be happy to see them have a baby now. I have faith they would make the story work either way
ReplyDeleteI'd rather they not write the baby into the show. Considering the bad habits of television writers, it's unlikely they would make Booth the father of the child, and Brennan becoming pregnant from someone else would feel like a kick in the pants.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember the last time a pregnancy was written into a show and the main love interest at the time was actually the father.
Friends? With Ross and Rachel?
ReplyDeleteI never watched that. But is that the only one?
ReplyDeleteThe X-Files! Mulder and Scully had a boy named William.
ReplyDeleteBooth and Brennan work long and late, in various different parts of the Country and spend copious amounts of their time at a restaurant and a pub.
ReplyDeleteA baby complicates ALL of that. They have to explain where it is at all times, they can't completely neglect it's presence without drawing the same types of questions that House has received, and I have no interest whatsoever in seeing the inevitable "should I put myself in danger when I have a kid" plotline.
Basically, no little Booth or Brennan please. Let that be something you close out the series on, I don't want to see it during the shows run.
Piper & Leo - Charmed?
ReplyDeleteI really hope they don't write the baby into the show. Great for Emily, but I myself am not a fan of babies in tv series. It would be too much too, I think. They are still hovering with getting Brennan and Booth together, and then all of a sudden Bones is pregnant too. That would probably only be another reason for the writers to postpone them getting together, which, of course, we don't want. And all the other problems that come with having a kid.. thanks but no thanks. Angela and Hodgins, wonderful, but they aren't the main characters of the show.
ReplyDeleteI think they don't show her pregnant... we just waiting 6 years before something should really happen betwin them and now a pregnancy... just too much for the producers... But i'm affraid; watching her just behind a microscope will be so shame... what about booth/brenann alchemy ? That could be dangerous for the show i think (and specialy for the audiences :S)
ReplyDeleteWell, they were married - Even when they conceived Chris. I don't think they count.
ReplyDeleteJennifer Aniston wasn't pregnant though...
ReplyDeleteTrue, but I was going with in general, though.
ReplyDeletethis is exactly how im leaning on this issue too. seems to forced almost.
ReplyDeleteI forgive you :P
ReplyDeletePersonnally i dont care if actors get preant and the show just keeps ogoing like nothing happens. haha.
I'ld like it if they did an other time jump cause a baby is hard to work in that show ahahha
ReplyDeleteoh damn I forgot about Angela and Hodgins baby :O LOL fail... hum... yeah your right
ReplyDelete! it's a most watch ahaha just saying
ReplyDeleteI think they should hide the pregnancy but still do a Bones, Booth relationship. They are meant to be!!!
ReplyDeletehahaha! well now we know how they're addressing it! <3 :p
ReplyDeleteAHHHH, SHE TRICKED USSSS loool
ReplyDeleteI went and read all the comments first. lol. Over a week ago when suddenly Brennan and booth went to bed together I wondered WHAAT THE HELL! I mrsn 6 season the writers have kept them out of each others beds. and now boom band. Then the very next week She is pregnant?????? Wow booth what a way to go! lol.
ReplyDeleteThis will be the most dsyfuntional family situtation that has every been shown on TV. It was after that tv annoucement that I went to look up Emily, and found she is really pregnant, lol.
I think this is going to be great, The very concept of Brennan having a child is mind boogling but she has money. I't not like she can;t hire nannies. And with booth that nannies is going to have a through back groun check. and with her father security will be tight. I can see a dozen plot line revolving around that.
