The trailer for Once Upon A Time is MUCH MUCH better than the pilot clip. Apt. 23 and Suburgatory look good too. Pan Am could be interesting. I'll pass on the rest.
Scandal, Suburgatory, Apartment 23 and Man Up will last. The others will be dropped after the first season in my opinion.Apartment 23 and Man Up will last. The others will be dropped after the first season in my opinion.
Hate to say it, but Apartment 23 looks really good. It may even redeem James Van Der Beek for me. He was always better at comedy, anyway. Other than that ... I'll give Once Upon a Time, Scandal, Pan Am, and maybe Charlie's Angels or GCB (if either get good reviews), and pass on the rest.
"Apartment 23" looks like a must see for me. I'll give "Suburgatory" a go and Pan Am seems to be interesting. As for the rest I'm not that interested and "Missing" has the suckiest trailer.
Once Upon a Time looks quite interesting. I like the marriage between fairy tales vs the modern world setting. It looks better than Grimm, but already the dialogue shown in the trailer seems kinda clunky (More references to "happy endings" than I care to count).
The River also looks intriguing, although at this point, it really just looks like Paranormal Activity set on boats and rafts. Not that I'm complaining.
Surprisingly, I can't help but feel compelled to watch Charlie's Angels. Sure, the concept of kickass, scantily clad spies has been beaten to death, but at least the female leads are sexy. I'm not expecting earth-shattering story-telling; as long as they consistently deliver action, I can find myself tuning into this. The Thursday time-slot is problematic, though.
Apartment 23 looks even more interesting now, as does Revenge. Once Upon a Time is still the most interesting, I'm allowing myself to be quite hopeful that it will be good now!
Apartment 23 actually looks kind of fun here. Suburgatory doesn't look awful. Whatever happens, besides Work It, which looks only marginally better than Whitney, the ABC sitcoms look WAY stronger than those from NBC.
Missing and Pan Am look good. Once Upon A Time looks great! The River looks... interesting, but documentary/Blair Witchesque filming is turning me off. I don't see how Revenge could last beyond a season, but it doesn't look awful. Scandal sounds like Shonda Rhime. Desmond :D. With an American accent? Weird, maybe good, I hope.
It's tough to say which of these could survive. They all seem to have a lot going both for and against them. Of all of these, I see Pan Am as the one with the best chance at succeeding but ultimately, I still don't feel like I HAVE to watch any of these.
Could someone explain to me how "Man Up" and "Work It" got pickups? Those shows aren't just bad, they're "Cavemen" bad. I'm talking "Emeril" bad. ABC should be embarrassed.
My take on why Work It is grounds for an ABC programming exec to get the axe- http://theentertainmenthotline.net/2011/06/23/why-abcs-new-series-work-it-is-an-epic-failure-by-abc-management/
Super excited about Scandal, Work it looks good, Im liking Man Up, Apartment 23, Missing, might give Charlies Angel a chance since it comes on b4 Grey's and Private, may check out suburgatory and GCB
Ill give every show except GCB and Charlies Angels a go - I dont think more than a few will last, but they seem worth a shot to me. The River scares me a little tho - might be too chicken for that one!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteWhat does James Van Der Beek need to be redeemed for?
ReplyDeleteI think Man Up looks quite good, could be another comedy hit for ABC. I might also check out The River.
ReplyDeleteThe rest is typical ABC crap :P

Revenge, Once upon a time, and Scandal are the 3 I will try.
ReplyDeleteSuburgatory and Good Christian Bells are a lot like Desperate Housewives aren't they?
ReplyDeletePan Am looks good.
Scandal is like the reverse angle of The West Wing.
Work It - I can't believe no one can tell that they are guys. Haha!
man up, missing and apartment 23 look interesting...and of course The River...
ReplyDelete'Blow' - Ke$ha
ReplyDeleteEven though I do love me some Ke$ha, there is no excuse for shooting at her
"Work It" and "The River" look awful but the rest definitely seem intriguing, especially "Revenge", "Apartment 23" and "Once Upon a TIme"
