Good Christian Bitches picked up now titled Good Christian Belles
Twenty years ago, Amanda Vaughn was the queen bee of Highland Park Texas, but now she's got to pay for her sins. An original mean girl, Amanda (Leslie Bibb) used to terrorize the less attractive and less popular. After her husband gets busted for a Ponzi scheme and then dies in sensationalized circumstances, Amanda has to return to Dallas in disgrace and start her life again. Will the good Christian bitches of her hometown welcome her with open arms ... or stab her in the back? No one in Highland Park is a saint, but that doesn't mean they can't have a heart. As Amanda and her teenage kids try to adjust to their new circumstances, the ladies of Highland Park alternate between sympathy and scheming. Based on Kim Gatlin's hit book, Good Christian Bitches, Robert Harling (Steel Magnolias) is adapting and executive producing along with Darren Star (Sex and the City) to bring this sexy, salacious new drama home to roost.

Its amazing that one word change can change a series title from a good one to a rubbish one.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't going to watch, but "Good Christian Bitches" was such a better title.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad they changed the title, really hate how bitch is thrown about
ReplyDeleteThe name change alone makes this a heap of crap. I wasn't going to watch anyways, but now I will be pushing my friends to ignore it as well. If you give something a title, back the title up! Changing it changes the tone of the entire show.
ReplyDeleteHey, I have an idea : next season, I'll go to ABC and pitch them an idea of a show called "Nice Catholic WHORES" (in capital letters, so if twice more offending and shocking and provocative), something about housewives (it all comes down to this on ABC in the end).
ReplyDeleteIt will draw a huge amount of attention, everyone on the internet will talk about it, associations will speak against it and it will create enough buzz for ABC to pick it up.
Then I change the title to Nice Catholic Dolls, because who honestly thought a show based on a curse word could actually exist, futhermore associated to religion ? No one, especially not the creator of Good Christian Belles. Well played, sir.
Encouraging people not to watch a show isn't a good idea, no matter how much you don't like it there will always be fans, just think about shows like Fringe, if less people were discouraged the ratings would be somewhat representative of quality.
ReplyDeleteI was going to watch the pilot, just to support the name.
ReplyDeleteNow I have no reason to give this a shot.
*thumbs up*
ReplyDeleteCBS picked up Shit My Dad Says, but point taken!
ReplyDeleteAre you freaking kidding me??? Everyone is so afraid offending everyone from Muslims to Gays and yet you feel it's ok to bash Christians??? You people have lost your mind!!! You wonder why everything is fallinga part all around you. Why evil is growing so in this world. God is REAL and how DARE you ABC or anyone else take it upon yourself to bash a GOD I beleive in. You don't have to beleive I can only enlighten you and pray for you but I can't not force my beliefts on you nor would I want to but who are you Rebecca, Kutzy, Lou, Isis, Bob and Mark (those are just a few comments I see) to laugh and jump on the band wagon of poking fun, bashing Christians. You poor fools you will be consumed by your wickedness...
ReplyDeleteIs this Kristin Chenoweth's new show, or is that something else?
ReplyDeleteThis site is really getting popular, you have your first (that i have seen) easily offended religious person! Usually next is the people paid to post ads ("That was great and my boyfriend agrees, we met on......) or the people that hate everything just to piss people off.
ReplyDeleteHa, we've finally made it :)
ReplyDeleteyes
ReplyDeleteI'm quite disappointed. This is offensive to bitches everywhere. One day they'll get the representation they deserve. It's about equality, people.
ReplyDeleteIf the people picking up the show can't stay behind the original title, it shows a lack of confidence. I too lack confidence in the show because of this.
ReplyDeleteOn top of that, this "show" sounds beyond juvenile.
Haha, your beliefs have nothing to do with me and my opinions. Besides, a few decades from now... I smell "new" mythology for a more advanced culture, just like the ones you don't believe in now.
ReplyDeleteEasily offended??? Just because I stick up for what I do believe in does not make me easily offended anymore than because you don't believe or don't know now to defend what you believe in makes you a fool. Yes, I am offended that ABC would take it upon themselves to bash my faith. They already put enough junk on TV and I see this as a cheap way of getting publicity.
ReplyDeleteYou smell a "new" mythology eh. Well then maybe you should check your drawers. My GOD has been around forever and has been written about for over 2000 years. A more advanced culture??? Yes, we can see where these advancements have gotten us. They have gotten us in a world with no moral, social, ethical, or spiritual value. The farther we move away from God the closer we get to our own demise. We live in a society that thinks its ok to lie, cheat, steal and kill. A society of all about ME ME ME ME ME. Where people don't care about each other, or look after each other, or help each other. You want a new mythology? Unless you go back to biblical values, Jesus's values of treating folks that way you would like to be treated it doesn't matter what mythology/religion you do in the future it will fail.
ReplyDeleteAfraid that the change in show title makes no difference to me, Still sounds like a bathroom conversation of 8th graders, only thing missing will be little boys making farting noises ................
ReplyDeleteor maybe not! ABC soesn't need censors , they need babysitters .......
