Thanks to ilenya for the heads up.

EW has exclusively learned that Cynthia Addai-Robinson is the new Naevia, who you’ll recall fell in love with gladiator Crixus during season one and is now on the run with Spartacus and the revolting slaves for season two.

Addai-Robinson was previously in ABC’s Flash Forward and appeared in shows like CSI: NY and and Numbers. She’s repped by Pantheon Talent and Liebman Entertainment.

  1. Wow. For a relatively minor role, they sure took a long time to recast it.

  2. Took that long to find someone willing to take their clothes off for 90% of the show

  3. I'd have to disagree. That show convinced extras sit (and jump) around topless in the arena crowd for next to nothing. You'd have to figure someone would leap at the chance to do the same thing, plus have a speaking role, for real money. :)

  4. Looked up a picture of her... the old Naevia was prettier.

  5. Am I missing something here, why the hell are they giving this part to a new actress instead of Lesley-Ann Brandt who played her in the 1st season ? Honestly I don't see why they would recast her role (don't tell me she has cancer too). She was good in that part in season 1, and anyway they should have kept her ! Are they recasting everyone just because they have a "new" Spartacus ?

  6. They recast her because she chose to leave. Cable shows can't seem to tie up proper contracts for actors so they can come and go easily. It's a shame because she was given a real prominent role in the mini series.
