  1. At least the Night's Watch swordmaster, Alister Thorne , believes in positive reenforcement eh? Wow.

I love the dynamic between the last honorable man in the Seven Kingdoms,Ned and the gilded Kingslayer Jaime. I appreciate it MORE on-screen than in the books I think...

  4. Agreed. As a Canadian, it confuses me often XD.

On a different matter all together, I don't know how much of a recap I'll have up this week. It was moving week and I got into my new apartment yesterday. Lots was done in preparation and still lots left to do. I may post some general impressions, but I'll be back to doing it regularly with Episode 3.

In short, I REALLY enjoyed episode 2. Like I said when I mentioned the Winterfell (or possibly Stark) theme, there's a hint of Leitmotif use. I hope we get more of this in King's Landing.

This episode also had much less exposition. I really got to enjoy the performances and the situations rather than slogging through setup. We got some wonderful character development. I especially loved Tyrion and Arya (who weren't much present last week) as well as Jon. Robert was also really wonderful, especially in the scene where he allowed Lady's execution.

My only complaint storywise was the really awkwardly Direwolf/Joffrey segment. It was strangely cut as each character slowly reacted one by one (instead of in real time). I loved the way Sansa yelled Arya's name twice. It was almost comical.

Also, I'm not sure how I'm feeling about Dany's portions. I let you know more once I've had a couple more weeks. Thus far, although I really like Emilia Clarke, I just don't care about her or the Khal. I like Viserys a LOT, but he only had one scene.

  5. Also, I'm surprised about the inclusion of House Tyrell. I mean, I guess it makes sense since they're discussing Loras, but none of the other material released has ever included them. Or House Frey for that matter. They might as well have just thrown House Martell out there too.

  8. Yeah those house arrive on the scene later. I forget what site I got them from... It was a foreign HBO site, but I tried to find it again and could not. I forgot to book mark it... Oooops!

  9. I understand COMPLETELY about your feelings. It took me a while to warm up to Dany in the books and it's taking even longer in the series. I find Viserys far more dynamic, but we get so much LESS of him in the series.

Both Direwolf scenes felt "off" to me. Like they magically appeared . Some sort of invisible guard dog.
