I was thinking that we assumed that when Peter touched the machine, it didn't work, and he was rejected. But maybe, it actually worked, and it's purpose was to bring Peter's consciousness to wherever it shows in the promos (the future?) and he will have to perform some kind of task there to save to world?
Actually .. it's .. Be lie If ........( belief ) .... Peter is the only one who can operate it or one universe will survive Fringe . that's my take for now !!
amazing... curious what's the meaning of the darting "BELIEF" which creates the word "LIE"... it possibly reffers to something that we learned and it will realize as false, but what is it?
Like others I think that the "lie" is that only Peter can operate the machine or as Sam said "This machine is built for Peter".... Combine that with the 'Don't trust Sam Weiss' message from earlier and it fits nicely.
So IF Sam lied, did he lie because Peter does indeed need to save this universe and Sam wanted to make sure Peter lived up to his destiny.... or does Sam have ulterior motives and has in fact been playing everybody from the beginning?
I am a little annoyed they throw up the "Only one side will survive" graphic. Part of the tension and drama was trying to figure out if one will survive, two will survive, both sides will survive or they will combine somehow etc.... I can't see them having "our" fringe team survive 'over there'... and I can't see them killing off our entire team either, so to me it makes me think that our side survives. Now, how ours survives and how the time travel theory comes into play.... I have no idea....
Then again it is likely far more complex and layered than only one side survives and FRINGE is just trying to build tension..... It's going to be a long few days!
I think that a key word here is ability. Olivia has the ability to do what to "save our world", to "stop the machine"? And if anything of this happen Walternate will be very angry with her and we know that he really hates, her so I'm really worried about her future more than Peter's.
I'm wondering if we're gonna see another "weaponized" version of Peter. All his lines in this promo are from previous episodes, so that makes me wonder if there's something off about his character. If not, I really like @TheKillingJoke's theory. Also, I reeally liked Olivia's line. I'm curious who she's talking to but it's so melancholy and so very Olivia. Btw, is that an old clip of Olivia in the Bra & Panties Tank or is she going back?
Maybe the lie reffers to Sam Weiss, I don't trust him since the " where will you be" promo and the secret sentence " don't trust Sam Weiss " at the end ... I can't wait to see the episode =D
I agree with you, Olivia must be a " key element " in the machine stuff, 'cos she's been a corthexiphan test, and if I remember well, her ABILITY can be used when there's both fear and love... And she's scared for Peter ; and she loves him, so I think that she can turn off the machine or do something to save the world(s) ... :/ I hope I've been clear LOL that's just my theory
This promo makes me extremely excited for the ep on Friday. One of the reasons I love this TV show so much is that you genuinely never know what they're going to throw at you next.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I love that. Best promo ever! I'm speechless!
