i thought they were fun & quirky & cute to look at At one point I turned to my friend & asked him "would you want to watch a whole season of this though?" random poetry happened a lil too often, back story needs to be tightened, chemistry b/t actors improved but it wasn't bad, they were obv. trying to give us a ton of info on these characters quickly & it did come across forced more often than not.. but i like the potential for sure..
I said yes. However, I like 2 out of 3. Geoff Stults and Michael Clarke Duncan was awesome. I wanted to like Saffron Burrows. However, her accent put me well off. I genuinely thought she was an American actress trying to put on a London accent. Until I Googled her and realised otherwise. I hope that it'll grow on me or become less annoying. I'll probably tune in when it premieres but so far it's the only thing that'd make me tune out. Anyone know if it's coming to the UK? I hate having to watch everything online.
I didn't like them, but I think it was that I was upset that I wasn't watching an episode of Bones, I was watching a different show. They were given too much screen time. I think their introduction should have been more brief, but over a 3 episode arc or something. And Saffron Burrows accent was awful. I loved her on Law and Order: CI, but didn't like her here. I didn't really care for the guys either though. And the catchphrase "I'll risk it" was overdone
Bones has a tendency to devolve their characters in caricatures at times. It's very inconsistent in that sense. Hodgens is a conspiracy buff, Booth is religious and a bit of a jock, Brennan's a geek who doesn't get basic human emotions and phrases, et all. Sometimes they forget that these characters should be MORE than what you would describe them as in pitch meeting. When that's at it's worst, the great chemistry between the cast saves the day and usually ensures that it's watchable.
I feel like The Finder had the same problem, only amplified and with less chemistry. So, sadly, I'll have to give this a "No" for now.
If this show gets picked up, I'll give it a few episodes. Bones didn't exact ignite my fire in it's first couple episodes either.
None of them appealed to me, and i love to watch the actor who plays Walter. He was too paranoid, Ike too annoying, and Leo was alright but not amazing. I wouldn't watch the crossover.
It kind of reminded me of the JAG/NCIS episode. I didn't like the girl in either of the two but I liked everyone else. Maybe if they just make something else to say she left or something the show wouldn't be half bad. Other than her I liked the show.
I thought Geoff Stults "The Finder" overdid his goofy paranoia, did not like Safron Burrows lowbrow accent- she sounded like she was trying too hard, Michael Clarke Duncan as the way cool attorney was the one standout for me. I thought the better back door pilot of the week was the Smallville Blue Beetle/ Booster Gold episode.
Finder has an interesting main character, of they write it correctly, but the entire premisses of the show just don't appeal to me. As much as the characters go, Ike annoyed me and Leo wasn't interesting enough to hold my attention.
I thought one of the only interesting characters wás the girl. I liked the episode, liked the concept of The Finder too but I don't know if I'll watch a whole show of this. I'm curious to see how this will work out!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Not seen the episode myself yet, but will be interesting to see the poll results.
ReplyDeleteI liked them and I hope it will be picked up, I'd watch it!

ReplyDeleteI did like the characters, but not so much the episode.
ReplyDeleteI only got to watch the first half online again. They have definitely left an impression on me.

ReplyDeleteI liked Walter but other than that I thought it was really lame...
