Hey all,

We're pleased to announce our very first SpoilerTV APP.

Now before we get into the details, just a couple of important points

- The APP is 100% Free. We don't believe in charging our readers for accessing our data.
- This is our first version. There will be BUGS and you'll no doubt have a lot of feature suggestions (See Feedback Form below). Please be gentle with us :)

(This is why we have ads on the site. The ads have helped to pay for these apps)

Anywho, onto the app.

The App is available now for Android Devices in the Market Place.

http://bit.ly/SpoilerTVAndroid

The iPhone and iPad versions have been submitted to the Apple Store and we're waiting for Apple to approve the Application (They are notoriously slow). Once approved we'll update this post and make an announcement. iPad users will find the screens below very different as the application operates differently on the iPad but has the same basic feature set but a lot more bells and whistles :)

Key Features
Free alerts on the latest stories
Search in-app for shows/stories
Optimized mobile delivery
Customize for the show(s) you want to appear on your homepage
InBuilt Reporting/Submit Scoops
View Comments on Posts/Articles
Videos will play if your Android Device has Flash Support
Support for voting in our polls.
Share articles via Facebook, Twitter and/or email

Using the Application
When you first start the application, you'll be asked if you want to enable alerts. You can either enable them now or at a later time. You can turn the alerts off/on at any time via the Settings menu.

You will then by default get a list of the latest articles that you can scroll through. Clicking on an article lets you view the article in full as well as reading any comments that have been made on the article.

Customizing the App
As previously mentioned you will be able to enable/disable alerts via the Settings Page. You can also select which shows you want to appear on your homepage. Simply click Settings, then click the Add link next to each show/category that you want on your homepage. Once you have selected the ones you want, press Done and your homepage will then be refreshed. You can also change the font size of the application.

Submit a Scoop
You can also use the App to Submit any Scoop to us via the Report function. This could include Set Video, Photos or just links to existing sites/articles. Click on the Report button and follow the Wizard to submit your report etc

iPhone and iPad
You can get the APP Here. It should start showing up in the App Store Search shortly.

Here are some screenshots of the iPad version.

Known Issues
- You cannot add comments to the articles. We'll be looking at adding Disqus Support so that you can not only read existing comments but also comment on them.

Future Functionality
This being our very first version, we wanted to keep it simple so that we could learn about what features etc people want. Some of the features that we're planning are listed below.

- Ability to Comment on Articles
- Allow user to change the default number of articles displayed
- Comment Count to appear on Homepage so that you can see which articles have comments
- Ability to access some of the other existing site features link About, Meet the Team, Help, Popular Posts
- More Customization options for turning Thumnails on/off, Article Snippets on/off, Comment Count on/off
- Different Color Schemes/Themes

Feedback - Important
Like everything we do here at SpoilerTV, we try our best to involve everyone of our readers to help make the site better and in this case, the app better..

If you have any feedback/suggestions/bugs please let us know either in the comments below or by using this Special form below.

  1. Android app is great, already using it!

And the ipad app looks gorgeous. I might have to buy an ipad just to use this app lol

    ReplyDelete
  2. Ha, that would be an expensive App :)

    ReplyDelete
  3. Cool stuff. Although I still don't know the sound my QR reader makes when it scans the code. Sounds like a Gremlin saying "good enough."

Anyway, I've been trying to resist buying an IPad, but between this application and possibly streaming NetFlix, I may lose that battle.

  30. anychance there will be an app made for a blackberry?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Not currently I'm afraid. We're focusing on the iPhone and iPad
although we are looking at how we might be able to do a BB version.
The problem is there is less than 0.01% of people using a BB on the
site so it's not our highest priority at the moment. But it is on our
    list of things to do

    ReplyDelete
  32. Awesome! I'll be looking forward to the iPhone version.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Thanks, I hope you like it :)

    ReplyDelete

  37. Hi,

Thanks for the kind comments. Yes, we hope that will be in a future version :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. This is absolutely amazing!!! Just love it. Thanx so much for this app! This is definitely the best app on my Samsung Galaxy at the moment!:D

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hey Lorincz!

Thank you so much, that's very kind of you!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yes it will be available Worldwide once it goes live :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. Yep, as long as you can download from the Android Marketplace it
    should work fine :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. About time. Who did you use to create the app?

    ReplyDelete
  43. We worked with a company called notice

    ReplyDelete
  44. dang usefull glad it came :D

    ReplyDelete
  45. Oh, but I have the 4th generation of Iphone. Has it been released to Iphone yet? Really want the app. Wanna curse everything and everyone for not finding it on appstore... xD... But I won't, haha.

    ReplyDelete
  46. No, not yet. It's still in the very slow Apple app approval process.

As soon as its approved we'll make an announcment and update this post.

    ReplyDelete
  47. And, oh, by everyone I don't mean it literally. Just Apple, they don't have all the apples in the bucket!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Can't wait for the iphone to be ready

    ReplyDelete
  49. Hopefully won't be too long, shame that apple take so long to approve

    ReplyDelete
  50. hi fellas !!! I think your idea is great but I have a little problem. my phone is a samsung wave and this QR Code Below don't work in phone. so my question is : "do you have an app for samsung?"

    ReplyDelete
  51. Is your phone an Android Phone? Does it have access to the Android
Market? Just search for SpoilerTV and you should find it.

Also you can access it via your browser here
    https://market.android.com/details?id=com.noticesoftware.SpoilerTV&feature=search_result

    ReplyDelete
  52. no my phone isn't an android. the apps for my phone, i can find them here http://www.samsungapps.com/

    ReplyDelete
  53. Sorry, it only works on Android Phones. We have ipad and iphone
    versions coming soon.

You can access the site on our mobile version here on any phone
    http://m.spoilertv.com/

    ReplyDelete
  54. No problem, maybe you should think about an Android phone in the future ;)

    ReplyDelete
  55. I can't explain how epic this is in a single comment!! Awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Thanks Two Sides Which version are you using? Make sure you rate/review us :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. I just installed it on my iPhone 3G :) It didn't appear in the 'App Store' search function for some reason, so I had to type in the URL :/

I think it's great! I'll go rate it now, never rated an app before! I'll try string together a review too :P

Do you get any sort of stats through to you seeing what the most followed category is etc? That would be pretty neat :D

    ReplyDelete
  58. Thanks that's great. Yep, I think the search index is not updated yet, should be another 12-24 hrs to find it in the store via search.

As for the Stats we don't currently but it may be something we'll look at in the future.

Appreciate the kind comments and the feedback :)

    ReplyDelete
  59. Rated and reviewed! :D 5 stars ;)

    ReplyDelete
  60. Thanks, happy that the iPhone app is now out

    ReplyDelete
  61. Thanks Rakesh, hope you like it. Please use the form above to give us
any feedback/suggestion about how we can make it better. Also feel
free to review/rate it on the app store :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. just downloaded the iphone app. its great, thanks :)

    ReplyDelete
  63. Just added the app to my iPhone!! I'm loving it! Makes surfing the website a lot easier! Nice one Dark!

    ReplyDelete
  64. SpoilerTV was my second app after twitter on my brand new iphone! It looks great! :D

    ReplyDelete
  65. Thanks, glad you like it.

    Appreciate the the feedback.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Great work, I'm enjoying it.

    Two suggestions:
    a) Landscape would be awesome;
    b) Retina display support;
    c) Try to provide as many videos as possible on YouTube rather than other flash-based sites, it would fill in part the lack of Flash plugin...

    Again, congrats from Italy.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Thanks Aur0n for the feedback.

Would you be so kind as to fill out the Feedback form so that the developers
    get to see the feedback.

Later in the year we hope that all our videos will be HTML5 compliant so
that they work on all phones even if you don't have flash support.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Already did, thank you again for the hard work. I hope to see status updates quite often on the site, when possible.

    Keep up the great work!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Thanks very much, yep we're working with our Video provider to hopefully get
    this working soon :)

    ReplyDelete
  70. Don't step in the blood! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gpAuJ5YH5g

    ReplyDelete
  71.  You have to realize that most BlackBerry users arent going to try to access a large and heavy website like this because the browser sucks, which means there is more of a reason to develop an app for BlackBerrys.  There is no need for an iPad app when the thing has a dual core processor and a 10 inch screen.

When you release a BB app, I will definitely download it.  Until then, I will be accessing the site when I can from a computer...

    Just my 2 cents.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Thanks, the problem is I have no skills in developing for BB I'm
afraid and we've run out of money to get anyone else to develop it
    currently.

    ReplyDelete
  73.  Good work :D I'll wait for Blackberry app

    ReplyDelete
  74. Downloaded the iPhone version, it's great! :)

    ReplyDelete
  75. thanks for the update!

    ReplyDelete
  76. Hey, I have a quick question, do I earn badges or points with this app?

    ReplyDelete
  77. I wish I had an iPad. (LOL, I didn't even want one until my godparents came into town with my godcousins, and I played on one of theirs.)

    ReplyDelete
  78. Yep, my wife has one and it's pretty cool :)

    ReplyDelete
  79. Do you have a guess as to when all of the videos will be iPod enabled? Lol it seems like the only ones I want to watch aren't available.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Do you have any examples of ones that don't work. We're up to about 70% in the videos.

If you can let me know some of the links that don't work I'll check to see if they should work.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Cuervaverdinegra21 October 2011 at 21:33

    And an app for Symbian?

    ReplyDelete
  82. Sorry, we have no plans for Symbian, there just isn't the demand to warrant the expense and time to develop one.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Cuervaverdinegra21 October 2011 at 21:49

Thanks for the answer, I had to buy an Iphone ;)

    ReplyDelete
  84. Spoilertv.com/2011/10/fringe-episode-405-novation-promo.html

I apologize if the link is messed up. I am posting from an IPod. In the case that I did mess up the link it is the first promo for fringe - Novation

    Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  85. Get and Android, they are better :)

    ReplyDelete
  86. Yep, the ones we post after an episode has just aired tend to be be the ones that are not iPhone/iPad friendly.

We'll slowly try to get them more compatible as we go on.

Does this Terra Nova Sneak Peek work? http://www.spoilertv.com/2011/10/terra-nova-episode-106-bylaw-sneak-peek.html

    ReplyDelete
  87. Yes that one worked fine. Any chance the video player will allow HD in the future? The player looks great but having HD capabilities would really be cool for SpoilerTV.

    ReplyDelete
  88. No many networks release their Promos and Sneak Peeks in HD I'm afraid. We always try to upload the highest definition that we get.

Hopefully one day the networks will release better quality.

    ReplyDelete
  89. This app look really cool! I think I'm gonna have to download it and try it out! :)

    ReplyDelete
  90. out with the old in with the new.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I installed this one before few days. its really good.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Thanks Maggy, glad you like it. Thanks for the kind comments

    ReplyDelete
  95. I just got my first smartphone, and will be installing your android app as soon as I sleep, absolutely knackered xD

    ReplyDelete
  96. Hey I was wondering, will the Ipod App update with the new icon at all?

    ReplyDelete
  97. Hey I was wondering, will the Ipod App update with the new icon at all?

    ReplyDelete
  98. Hopefully in the next release we'll try to include.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Cool. Thanks! I really like using this app I think the Ipad app is my favorite.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Glad you like it. We hope if we find the time and money to to an update later in the year

    ReplyDelete
  101. Amazing..I love it. I spend at least one hour behind to play android games.

    ReplyDelete
  102. how about an app for windows phone?

    ReplyDelete
  103. We don't currently have any plans for one for the Windows Phone sorry. It's too expensive currently to write one.

Use the mobile version here m.spoilertv.com for other non-supported phones.

    ReplyDelete
  104. I understand. Still, the mobile version works just fine :)

    ReplyDelete
  105. The gentle reader will never, never know what a consummate ass he can
become until he goes abroad. I speak now, of course, in the supposition
that the gentle reader has not been abroad, and therefore is not already
a consummate ass. If the case be otherwise, I beg his pardon and extend
to him the cordial hand of fellowship and call him brother. I shall
always delight to meet an ass after my own heart when I have finished my
    travels.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Ooo this looks great! I just got a Kindle Fire for my birthday. Sadly, this app isn't in the Kindle Store. Will you ever be making it available for that device? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  107. I'm afraid the Kindle is not currently supported. Until Kindle open up their store more there is not much we can do currently.

    ReplyDelete
  108. I have a HTC Desire C and google play says this item is not compatible with your device. :((

    ReplyDelete
  109. Does your Device have a camera? What version of Android are you running?

    ReplyDelete
  110. yes it has a camera.... android version is 4.0.3

    ReplyDelete
  111. Thanks, I'll check with the developers to see why it might not be working.
Is the camera Front or Back facing?

    ReplyDelete
  112. sorry my camera is back facing, not front....

    ReplyDelete
  113. Thanks Soso. I'll try to work with the developers to see if we can a) find the exact reason it's not compatible and b) work on a new version that will work on your phone.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I just downloaded the app and clicked on the video of promo for an episode of Castle, but the video didn't play. my phone is Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro (MK16i).

    ReplyDelete
  115. I was so thrilled that I didn't even study this publish before I started out the App Shop. I can't delay for the iphone/ipad edition to come out.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Device not compatible. Damn. Wanted this app.

    ReplyDelete
  117. What device do you have?

Have you tried the mobile version that should work with most phones?

    ReplyDelete
  118. Samsung GT-P3110 tablet. The site works fine on it (via the Internet) but it's hassle. And the app look hugely cool :)

    ReplyDelete
  119. Hmm,

What version of Android is it running?

    ReplyDelete
  120. Thanks, I'll ask the developers why this might not be compatible.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Bradley Adams We've just loaded up a new version which should be compatible with more devices. It can take several hours for the Play Store to get updated.

The version you need to look out for is 2.13. Currently it's version 2.10

So when you see 2.13 on the play store page, give that a try.

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.noticesoftware.SpoilerTV&hl=en

    ReplyDelete
  122. Andy, it says it is version 2.13, yet it's still not compatible with my tablet.

    ReplyDelete
  123. The app has not changed, just the backend data. I#ve still no idea why it's not working for you. Sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  124. I'm probaly going to wait til i get my Android phone before getting this app :)
