V - Episode 2.08 - Uneasy Lies The Head - Review

Last night in "Uneasy Lies the Head" we saw Erica take action as leader of the fifth column in an action packed episode of V.

As Anna announces her plans to begin the final extraction of Human DNA through the Live Aboard programme, Erica and the others manage to steal a virus and give it to the humans in the programme to make their DNA useless and sabotage Anna's plans.
While stealing the virus, Kyle gets shot in the shoulder by a security guard. Erica shoots the guard down with no thought. Jack was the only one concerned about the guard. It turns out he was wearing a bullet proof vest but that does not change anything for Jack.

Jack wasn't happy by these actions! I don't blame him, Erica didn't seem to bothered about the implications this could have, but at the same time, they need to think about the "greater good". Jack and Erica lost their connection last night, it looks like Jack might be starting to question his role in the Fifth Column. Maybe he might turn his back on them in the final episodes of the season? He was certainly not impressed.

Erica and Kyle certainly created a new connection last night however when Kyle showed up at Erica's door. After revealing that the Visitors killed his wife, Kyle and Erica engage in some pretty hot sex! It's nice to see this side of the show for a change. I know we've had love stories before especially between Tyler and Lisa but there has never been anything major like last night. I'm not sure I'm liking the new Erica but hopefully this will reel her in a bit.

Back on the ship, Diana reveals to Ryan that her bliss can save his daughter. It appears that Marcus is also on Diana's side and not Anna's! It looks like we're heading towards a mutiny against Anna on the ship! Although Anna is an interesting character, I have grown a bit bored of her lately. It's always the same old thing and we never seem to get anything fresh from her so hopefully this will stir things up a bit!

At the end, we see Tyler get the first dose of the Human DNA! The Fifth Column were to late with their efforts to stop Anna from moving ahead with her plans.

Overall, a pretty good episode from V! I'm excited to see what happens next. We've only got a couple of episodes left and things are really starting to come together now! I'll be very disappointed if the show does get cancelled but I think the writers have missed a lot of opportunities this season. I also think ABC need to sort out the budget for special effects because the use of "green screen" has been apparent so often throughout the whole season it makes me cringe at times! V is still a brilliant show though and certainly deserves a season 3!
