Mireille Enos has revealed details about her role in new AMC crime drama The Killing.
The actress will play homicide detective Sarah Linden in the cable network's remake of Danish series Forbrydelsen.
"Sarah spends most of her time trying to truly know people who are already gone, which is mysterious, but she seems to have a real talent for it," Enos explained. "She works very hard at not being emotionally drawn in. The challenge of her life is to stay emotionally removed."
She explained that Sarah's emotions will come into conflict with her work throughout the first 13-part season.
"When we meet Sarah in the pilot, she is really at a crossroads in her life," she said. "She's engaged to a wonderful man and she's had her whole life up to this point as a police officer. Now she's about to give all of that up and choose happiness."
Enos added that Sarah's relationship with her 13-year-old son Jack will also begin to dissolve.
"She wants to be a good mother and she loves him," the actress insisted. "But her calling as a policeman often keeps her away for more time than is ideal."
