Oh dear :(
Drat: Fox’s Fringe fell to its lowest rating ever Friday night. The drama dropped 13% to 3.8 million viewers and a 1.3 rating in the adult demo.
Anybody watching broadcast ratings this week wouldn’t be entirely surprised by the drop, however. Since the start of Daylight Savings Time, ratings have been falling all week (more daylight in the early evening tends to result in fewer people watching TV). The competitive field was slightly different last night too, with CBS running college basketball, but its rating was on par with what the network typically pulls in the hour.
Still…All-time lows in the run-up to the May upfronts is never news a drama series wants to get, particularly a bubble show on Friday nights. Fox wants to bring Fringe back and has been leaning toward a pickup, but nights like this do not help.
