The Defenders - Episode 1.17 - Nevada v. Greene - Recap

In a scene right out of CSI, a young man woke up finding a girl dead in the Florentine penthouse, after a wild party.

Beside the new case, it's been a parade of familiar faces from cases past.

Nick and Pete have been requested by hotel owner Johnny Greene (Mark Ralston - 1.04 Nevada v. Cerrato) to represent his son Mike, who doesn't remember what happened to her. The girl was Rye Seeger, casino host at the hotel. Skin evidence under her fingernails showed that she struggled with her attacker. Since Mike doesn't have any defensive wounds, Nick argued that someone else killed her.

A.D.A Cole (Teddy Sears) and A.D.A. Nicholson (Rob Belushi) are pushing for conviction on one count of murder in the second degree, stacking evidence against them and even allowing the case to be tried in public. Odds against their case goes from 20-to-one to 40-to-one, but they managed to find real killer.

In one of those rare occasions, Lisa had a case of her own, representing Sally Scott (Kathy Griffin) a comedian, who was being sued for ridiculing Chuck Merman in her act. Merman's attorney was Mr. Bennie Hapwood (Ayre Gross - 1.02 Las Vegas v. Reid).

We were rewarded with some amusing quotes.

Sally: I look at them, and obviously your moms are cousins. See you in court dumb asses.

Nick: I hate those two.
Pete: I think they're a couple.

Sally: Are you still a showgirl? Are you wearing a bedazzled thong?

Notable moment:
Pete bets on the Greene case against the odds and win big. Doing the money dance makes Nicky mad.
