-Ratings Breakdown:
It was another slam-dunk overnight Tuesday victory for CBS with its combination of NCIS (13.8 rating/20 share), spin-off NCIS: Los Angeles (10.8/16) and critically-acclaimed The Good Wife (8.7/14), which just snagged Julianna Margulies her second consecutive SAG Award victory. But The Good Wife’s adult 18-49 advantage in the time period will be nowhere as significant as the 123 percent in the metered markets over NBC’s distant second-place Parenthood (3.9/ 6).

NBC opened the evening with another two-hour edition of inspirational The Biggest Loser, which averaged a respectable 5.7/ 9 in the overnights from 8-10 p.m. Here is the half-hour breakdown:

As always, look for The Biggest Loser to deliver among adults 18-49.

Elsewhere, ABC and Fox tied for distant No. 3 in the overnights, each with one hour of repeat programming. ABC opened with an encore telecast of on-the-fence freshman drama No Ordinary Family (#4: 2.8/ 4 at 8 p.m.), followed by V (#3: 4.0/ 6) and Detroit 1-8-7 (#3: 3.6/ 6) from 9-11 p.m. Although V did manage to build by 60 percent from the 8:30 p.m. portion of No Ordinary Family (2.5/ 4), a 4-rating in the overnights is certainly nothing to boast about. Nor is Detroit 1-8-7, which will be replaced by long-awaited Dana Delany crime solver Body of Proof in March.

Fox populated the night with a repeat of Glee (#3: 3.8/ 6), followed by the season (or series) finale of game show Million Dollar Money Drop (#4: 3.3/ 5), which is unlikely to return anytime soon. Had this been the dog days of summer, Million Dollar Money Drop would probably have been more welcome.

The CW aired original installments of One Tree Hill (#5: 1.7/ 3) and relocated Hellcats (#5: 1.3/ 3), which just do not resonate in the overnights. Eight seasons into its run, it is time for One Tree Hill to officially call it quits.
