YES, here’s another review for the #1 TV show on air! Did you watch NCIS this week? Have you been to those polls about the show in this blog? If not, it’s time to catch up with them, because this show just keeps getting better all the time!
Freedom was a very good episode. Again Brennan provided us another real plot, involving a female Marine who used to be beaten the crap out of her by her also Marine husband. I’m glad Brennan and the folks are keeping up with the social matters. Domestic violence is a huge problem and must be openly and offensively combated. If a simple episode can’t convince the victim to seek for her own freedom, maybe it could make people pay attention to their friends’ personal lives. It’s sad to know that most of the Gunny’s friends didn’t even know she was her husband’s personal punching bag. In addition to paying attention, people must be willing to tell the authorities about such horrible situation. Knowing it and not telling is much worse.
The team scenes were nice, though short. Abby was a mere accessory this time, Ducky seemed a little more useful, and Palmer was amazing. I missed him, and he came back even better. I wish they would simply offer Brian Dietzen a regular spot.
Of course, it is NCIS and we all know that, most of the time, when everything points a certain character as the guilty one, that character is probably innocent. Thank goodness, because it would be hard to watch it if the Gunny went to jail for killing her abusive husband, and having to send that cute kid to foster care. Yeah, I’m a Family Sim.

"I can't believe I have so many nicknames!" |
Funniest Scene: It’s sort of a draw because I can’t really decide:
- New name options for Tim (McClean, McFly, McQueen, McGeek, McBankrupt, McMiserable, McRib, McGreek and, later in the episode, McSpiracy);
- The “Tim McGee, meet Tim McGee” scene or…
- MS Word trying to tell me that all those names don’t exist.
Disappointment of the Week: Abby’s almost inexistence. I’ll protest by not saying anything else (but you all can yell at TPTB through the comments).
About Tiva: May I say… MUCH BETTER than the last two episodes? Because it is, indeed! Tony wasn’t a maniac, he wasn’t stupid, although their bickering is still there, but that’s common and will always be there, even when they get married on the last episode. [Have you seen our Poll on that matter?] I really enjoyed Tony and Ziva’s scene at the bar, and that dude helps a lot when he says they’re a couple. The Ray Mystery is killing me: SHOW HIM ALREADY! |
Honorable mention: Thomas Calabro, who played Len Feeney, for not letting me us know he was the actual baddy at very first sight. Kudos!
Not Thomas Calabro. |
I did enjoy this episode. It may not be the best the show has offered so far, but it was a good filler. I’m dying to watch the final episodes of this season; they always keep me on my toes for weeks. What did you think of Freedom? Let me know down here!
