First of all, Defiance starts with a Vance-hate scene. How the heck do they expect us not to dislike his character (do they?) if all of a sudden, without a single hint to what Tony and Tim had done (if you hadn't seen/don't remember the promos, of course), he shows up threatening to take their guns and badges?! And later in the same episode, he mistrusts Gibbs and the team just like he did in the past. After all these years and all they've done for and with Vance, now he's Boss-From-Hell again? What do TPTB mean with that sort of regression?
I had to rewatch the episode to notice the suicide bomber attacked outside the US. Actually, I just noticed it now, that I'm rewatching a few scenes to write this review. So that's why I wasn't following the story very well. Is there a Gibbs-Rule for not doing two things at the same time when one of them is much more important than the other? If not, he should consider creating one, because I need it.
I don't remember ever seeing this show deliberately letting us see the bad guy's face before the agents did. Yes, most of the times the guests stars can't really hide their guilt, but this time was different. We knew who the terrorist was because they wanted us to! That's something new in this eight-year-old titan.
I loved how Gibbs was smiling at Tony when he was playing around with a computer app.
Then again the social contribution on NCIS: let's donate our blood, peeps! Of course, you gotta be healthy and sober, and I understand completely if you suffer from trypanophobia because I do, but facing our fears to help people in need is quite a stimulus. I told myself I’d give my blood for the first time this year. It would help if the nurse was a Matt Bomer look-a-like. But male.

Funniest line:
Abby: I don't understand! You donated your sperm when you were in college!Tony: Yes, it's a much more pleasurable delivery system.
About Tiva: There was no Tiva again. Well, there was if you consider Ziva answering Tony's desk phone with a very sexy voice. When she found out it was Abby on the other side of the line, she suddenly changed it back to normal. A very Tiva-obsessed fan would say Ziva was trying to repel any potential female competition, but I like to think she was just playing secretary.

Some scenes would be Tiva if the writer had given Tim's lines to Tony, but this time, Tim was the one asking about Ray, Ziva asked Tim about how long Team Gibbs would stick together. Lovely scenes, even better because this time we were not too focused on when Tony would hold Zee on his arms and kiss her already. They focused on the friendship other than the hearts this time, and that worked well.
Honorable Mention: If they keep doing episodes this good, I'm gonna have to drop this section. Once again, I did not find out who the bad guy was, because they showed us one of the baddies before the opening credits! Awesome idea, but I don't know if I would take that in again.
Honorable Mention II: Just felt the need to point out Tony’s fear of needles. Finally we found out there’s something else that scares the heck out of him besides Gibbs and ladies who don’t shave.
The Case: I love plots involving terrorism and how the goodies catch those terrorists, so this one didn't disappoint me. Actually, I was surprised to see the girl as half-baddy.
Disappointment of the Week: Tony drives really badly. Hanging out with Gibbs and Ziva is a huge influence, I assume.
One last note before posting: the writers really don't want Tim to find his one true love outside Team Gibbs, right? He's unable to find a decent match. He should try something with Abbs, I don't know. It's so sad that it became a running joke... Poor Timmy!
