Principal casting is now done on Showtime’s HOMELAND. Diego Klattenhoff will play Marine colonel Mike Faber, who is Marine sergeant and former Iraqi prisoner of war Scott Brody’s (Damian Lewis) best friend.
Loosely based on the Israeli television series Prisoners of War, Homeland will follow CIA agent Carrie Anderson’s (Claire Danes) investigation into whether or not Scott was turned during his incarceration and is now plotting a strike against the US. Mandy Patinkin will play Carrie’s boss Saul while David Harewood is on board as the CIA Deputy Director of Intelligence. Laura Fraser has also been cast as Scott’s wife.
Production on Homeland begins January 10 and Showtime’s new president of entertainment David Nevins thinks it will be an exciting departure for the network. He said, “It’s a great psychological study like all the best Showtime shows, but it actually is much more than that in the fact that it’s a psychological thriller with a real ticking clock and real edge-of-your seat elements.”
