Grey's Anatomy - Episode 7.11 - Disarm - Review

Last night took the audience on an emotional journey as a gunman went on a shooting rampage at a college forcing the Doctors of Seattle Grace to be reminded of their own trauma in the latest episode of Grey’s Anatomy ‘Disarm’.

The episode saw lots of hanging ends finally get brought together! The most significant being Christina finally overcoming her fears and going back into surgery. When we were told the patient her and Teddy were operating on was the shooter, I really thought it was over for Christina and she would be leaving the OR, I was extremely pleased to be wrong! Christina gritted her teeth and continued with the surgery saving the shooter. Christina is back in force and I love it!

Derek and Meredith also seemed to be a lot happier towards the end of last night’s episode after Meredith revealed that she needed Derek too and not just Christina. I’ve really missed happy Meredith and Derek so it was nice to see them finally understand each other and be happy once again. It seems they are still trying for a baby and now things are back on track, I can’t wait to see what happens! Christina and Meredith being friends once again is also brilliant, the ending quote “Wanna get some crack cocaine?” reminded me why I love those two so much!

It wasn’t a good episode for Callie and Arizona fans! Although Arizona managed to get her job back, Callie won’t forgive Arizona for what she did even after Arizona told her how much she really loves her (That scene was brilliant). It was different to see Callie being the more stubborn one in the relationship, in the past; Arizona has often been the stubborn one. I just hope Callie and Arizona can sort things out, let’s hope Callie’s ‘news’ isn’t what Calzona fans are dreading!

We also saw lots of support from Mark last night! He could see how much Lexie was struggling to cope with the trauma and it proved to me that he really cared for her. The scene towards the end where he said he didn’t want the girl to have a scar made my heart melt! I’m so glad him and Lexie and back on track!

I have to mention the scene where the college students came to give a candle light vigil and sang their college anthem. This brought tears to my eyes. It stripped everything away and took us to the core of Grey’s Anatomy, surgeons working together to save lives. I found it very moving!

Overall, this episode was great and one of the most emotional Grey’s Anatomy episodes of the season. I really felt for the Surgeons and their battles to cope with the similarity between the college shooting and their own. The episode came along at the right time, it was almost like a finale within itself. We finally managed to see lose ends come together and Grey’s has set itself up for the remainder of the season with almost a fresh start! Roll on next week!
