Both Luke Wilson and Diane Ladd as well as actor/rapper Mos Def have joined HBO's upcoming comedy series 'Enlightened'.
The series will star Laura Dern as a self-destructive woman who has a spiritual awakening and decides to live an enlightened life, turning her work and family life upside-down. Mos Def will play her new boss when she returns to work. This will be Mos Def's first full-time series.
Ladd is Laura Dern's real-life mother and she's best cast as, a drum roll please, Amy's mother. This is an example of art imitating life. Of course, since the pair have already done movies and television together (including a dual Academy Award nomination for Rambling Rose) they're probably used to each other by now.
Wilson plays Amy's drug-abusing ex-husband. His last television appearance was a recurring role on That 70's Show. This is a step down from his usual movie roles (such as the under-appreciated Idiocracy). However, this is definitely a step up from his recent AT&T commercials.
