John Goodman is joining the cast of Glenn Close's legal thriller Damages in the season's key season-long guest role. He'll play the CEO of a shadowy military contractor who becomes a defendant in a wrongful death suit over an incident in a war zone, producer Todd Kessler tells USA TODAY's Gary Levin.
"John Goodman's phenomenal body of work speaks for itself. And we've been huge fans of his for years," says Kessler. "It's a real thrill to be adding an actor of John's extensive range and talent to the cast of Damages. We can't wait to pit him against Glenn Close and Rose Byrne in our fourth season."
The former FX series' fourth season will air this summer exclusively on DirecTV. Goodman is best known for his role on ABC comedy Roseanne and recently co-starred in HBO's Treme. Previous Damages guest stars included Ted Danson, William Hurt, Martin Short and Lily Tomlin.
