Bryan Cranston, three-time Emmy Award winner for best actor in a drama series, talked to New York Magazine about AMC's scheduling mix-ups for 2011, declaring that the move wasn't orchestrated to score Mad Men more Emmy's (premiering in July will render Breaking Bad ineligible for next year's Emmys).
"It was a decision from AMC that they wanted to position us in July... They want to attract as many eyeballs as possible, away from the heavy competition of the September, November [or] January start," he said, before going on to throw a bone to fans of AMC's top drama, The Walking Dead.
"I believe they're going to put Walking Dead in July as well."
Now, of course there's the fact that Cranston is just an actor, and isn't involved much at all in the scheduling process for shows. For him to volunteer that, though, makes that statement that much more true. How great would it be for us to get our dose of zombies three months earlier than expected?
