-Ratings Breakdown:
Despite airing a night of all repeats, CBS still dominated the Tuesday overnights with its encore combination of NCIS (#1t: 8.1 rating/13 share), spin-off NCIS: Los Angeles (#1: 7.0/11) and critically acclaimed (and older-skewing) The Good Wife (#1t: 5.2/ 9). But Fox is a shoo-in for victory among adults 18-49 care of its line-up of Glee (#1t: 8.1/13), Raising Hope (#4: 4.2/ 6) and canceled Running Wilde (#4: 2.6/ 4). To the fans of Raising Hope (and I am one of them), sorry folks, but retention of only 52 percent out of the 8:30 p.m. portion of Glee (8.1/12) is a “losing” performance.

In season-premiere news, NBC game show Minute to Win It disappointed with a fourth-place 4.0/ 7 in the overnights at 8 p.m. Given competing NCIS was a repeat, these returning results should have been better. Next on NBC was a 9-11 p.m. edition of The Biggest Loser, which averaged a 5.1/ 8, with the half-hour breakdown as follows:

One year earlier, the season-finale of The Biggest Loser scored a significantly higher 7.5/12 in the overnights on Dec. 8, 2009. The current season, certainly not one of the better ones from a ratings perspective, ends next Tuesday.

Elsewhere, ABC opened the evening with a repeat of annual holiday special A Charlie Brown Christmas with a third-place 5.1/ 8 from 8-9 p.m., which should definitely warrant some interest demographically. Next was relocated No Ordinary Family (#3: 4.2/ 7), which was stronger at 8 p.m., followed by disappointing Detroit 1-8-7 at a third-place 4.7/ 8 at 10 p.m. As a reminder, long-awaited Dana Delany crime solver Body of Proof steps into the Tuesday 10 p.m. hour in place of Detroit 1-8-7 in March. Last, and very least, was The CW’s combination of veteran One Tree Hill (#5: 1.6/ 3) and canceled Life Unexpected (#5: 1.4/ 2), which ends its run with back-to-back episodes on Jan. 18.
