'Adrift and at Peace' reminded me why I love Grey's Anatomy so much.
In the episode, we saw Derek and Christina go on a fishing trip together despite Meredith's doubts. Derek knew that Christina needed some quiet time where she can relax and think. I loved how excited Christina got when she caught the fish, it showed us that she still has that spark that makes her such an enthusiastic surgeon. While having her picture taken holding the fish she caught, we see her break down in an emotional scene. It looks like we finally have the surgeon in Christina back and it's about time too! I can't wait to see what the January episodes have in store for Christina.
Owen and Meredith let the issue with Christina effect them in the OR. Meredith blames Owen for letting Christina give up and Owen thinks Meredith is a bad influence on Christina. It all came to blow half way through an operation when Owen ordered Meredith to leave the OR. I do miss Meredith and Christina together. Meredith really cares for Christina and I wish Owen would accept how strong their friendship is like Derek does.
The relationships were all over the place this episode! At the beginning of the episode, Callie reveals that Mark reminds her of Arizona and Mark reveals while he was having sex with Callie all he can think about is Lexi. By the end of the episode, it seems like Mark and Lexi have things back on track and they share a kiss. I'm so glad this couple are getting on together, they are one of my favourite relationships on the show.
At the end of the episode, Arizona returned and reveals to Callie while she loved her job in Africa all she could think about was Callie. Much to my disappointment, Callie slams the door in Arizona's face. This scene was so well acted and perfectly conducted, but at the same time, why did you do that Callie?! I love this couple and I hope they can sort things out. Understandably, Callie is angry but Arizona took a big step in coming back just for her.
Teddy and Bailey also surprised me this episode. Teddy is going to marry a patient in order to give him medical insurance so he can get the treatment he needs. I never expected this from Teddy. I always thought she was looking for that strong relationship and craved a family, apparently I was wrong. Bailey also agreed to go on a date with a nurse this episode after he helped her cure the Fistulas mystery. I hope this relationship goes somewhere, it will be nice to see Bailey in love.
Overall, this episode helped move the season a step forward and left us wanting more. I can't wait to see where all these relationships go. The promo for the mid season premiere in January looks brilliant and I think this will be the episode where Christina returns. Roll on January!
