-Ratings Breakdown:
Led by the two-hour season-finale of Dancing with the Stars, ABC took center stage on Tuesday, beating normally dominant CBS by 27 percent in the overnights. Third overall was Fox, which always generates interest thanks to Glee, followed by slipping NBC and a night of repeats on The CW.

ABC’s freshman No Ordinary Family opened the evening with a now typical 4.9 rating/8 share at 8 p.m., which finished third in the time period. Take a look at the eight week overnight track:

Next on ABC was blockbuster Dancing with the Stars, which closed the season with a whopping 16.2/25 in the overnights from 9-11 p.m., building by half-hour as follows:

One year earlier, the fall edition of Dancing with the Stars concluded with a 12.4/20 on Nov. 24, 2009. So, last night as an increase of a noticeable 31 percent. Congratulations, Jennifer Grey. The right person won!

CBS was on the map, as always, with its compatible combination of NCIS (#1: 12.1/19), which does not get the credit it deserves, spin-off NCIS: Los Angeles (#2: 10.1/15) and older-skewing The Good Wife (#2: 7.3/12), which finished below-average opposite the Dancing with the Stars steamroller.

Fox’s Glee finished second as usual in the overnights, with a 7.6/12 at 8 p.m. But that will, no doubt, win the time period among adults 18-49 with ease. Next on Fox were two episodes of Raising Hope, original and repeat, and they fared as follows:

From an overnight ratings perspective, retention for Raising Hope out of the 8:30 p.m. portion of Glee (7.7/12) was only 47 percent.

Next was NBC with its combination of The Biggest Loser (4.5/ 7 from 8-10 p.m.), which remains down year-to-year, and struggling Parenthood (#3: 2.9/ 5). Parenthood will shift to Monday at 10 p.m. out of The Event effective on March 7. Here is the half-hour breakdown for The Biggest Loser:
