My recap of tonight's Law & Order: UK, "Samaritan," is now live. Here's an excerpt:
It's hard to top last week's excellent Law & Order: UK, but if I've learned anything watching this show, it's that these people will always find ways to surprise you.
"Samaritan" is the adaptation of 1993's "Manhood," and it pains me to say that it's every bit as relevant today as it was seventeen years ago. PC Nick Bentley is apparently killed at the scene of a drug deal while on patrol, but from the start of the investigation, Brooks and Devlin think something feels off. Though they collar a drug dealer and have a witness who claims she saw him, the dealer shocks them when he says another cop was present and let Bentley die. It's a grave charge from an unreliable source, and Matt wants nothing to do with it. Ronnie, however, pushes on even as it strains their partnership.
