In 'That's Me Trying', we saw Callie and Arizona prepare for their move to Africa and say their goodbyes. It was clear throughout the episode that Callie did not want to go and this was starting to rub off on Arizona. At the airport, Arizona told Callie that she didn't want her to come with her and that they were over. I cried! Calzona are my favourite ship on Grey's. I can't believe the writers did this after the whole baby storyline. I think they will get back together though, they have too!
We saw Doctor Bailey struggle to deal with the death of Mary during the episode. She decided to attend her autopsy to find out why she died but became frustrated when the pathologist could not find a reason. It was great to see Derek and Bailey connect in this episode. Derek is clearly scared that Meredith is going to suffer from the same condition that her mothered suffered from and Bailey is distressed over Mary and her death. Watching them together reminded me why I love so Grey's so much.
Christina didn't seem to get any better this episode unfortunately. She revealed to Meredith that she was angry at her because she is still 'normal'. The shooting hasn't affected her like it did Christina and Christina wants to know why. I thought we had moved a step further with her progress when she saved her transplant patient, apparently not. At the end of the episode, it appears that Christina has decided she no longer wants to be a surgeon. In all honesty, I'm starting to get a bit bored of this storyline. This is Christina we are talking about, the strong, feisty surgeon that lives for surgery. I understand she went through one hell of an ordeal and anyone would be affected by that but I still think it's time for the Christina we love to come back now.
In 'That's me Trying', we also saw some of the surgeons have to complete trauma training with Owen. I loved this. April was just so enthusiastic which kept making me laugh while Alex and Avery really didn't care. It added some light humour to the episode and I really enjoyed it. I did feel for Avery when he revealed that he didn't care about the trauma training since he lost two friends in the shooting. Avery is really starting to grow on me.
Overall, the episode was pretty good. In the last few episodes, the show has put itself back on course. The episodes are once again entertaining and we are starting to see more of the medical side which many of the episodes have lacked recently. I was a bit annoyed with Arizona and Callie splitting. I'm hoping when Arizona returns she returns purely for Callie and runs into her arms, or else I shall not be a happy shipper! Also, just a quick note: Thank you Shonda Rhimes for giving us Buffy fans Amber Benson on Grey's and Nicholas Brendon on Private Practice last night! It was rather awesome ;)
