'A Humiliating Business' was yet another brilliant episode from season 7 of Desperate Housewives.
The episode was a lot lighter and more fun than previous episodes which was refreshing especially with Carlos and Gabby. This week, we took a break from the Grace storyline and saw Carlos and Bob become close friends as Bob reveals his love for sports. After Lee warns Gabby that Bob was once known as 'flipper' she panics and tries to stop Carlos from going away with Bob. In the end, Gabby reunites Lee and Bob! I was SO happy when this happened, they are an awesome couple and I was absolutely gutted when they split. As much as I love the Grace storyline, it was really nice to take a break and go back to the comical side of Carlos and Gabby.
Bree and Keith's relationship also moved a step forward this episode. While rollerblading in the park, Bree started to suffer from symptoms of the menopause so she went to visit her gynaecologist. Keith then took Bree to meet his parents, much to Bree's surprise, Keith's mum was actually her doctor. This was a classic Desperate Housewive's scene, I loved it. After Bree revealed her secret to Keith, she told him they couldn't carry on with their relationship. Keith reassured Bree that he didn't want kids, he wanted to be with her. It will be interesting to see how this storyline progresses. As I said last week, I'm not sure if Bree loves Keith as much as he loves her.
Things maybe got a little brighter for Susan this week after she was employed by Lynette as her nanny for Paige while her and Renee run their own design business. I really felt for Susan when she thought they wanted her help as a designer. It was heartbreaking to see her face when she realised it was a job as a nanny and not an interior designer. At least Susan has a job now, and with Lynette as her boss, things are secure for Susan for now even if it isn't the job she wanted. I loved the scene between Lynette and Susan in the bedroom. Their friendship is so strong and powerful and this scene was very touching.
We also learnt a little bit more about Beth and Paul this episode. Paul asked an old inmate to move into his house to help him with something which Beth wants to know about. After some persuasion, she finds out and goes to the prison. It is revealed at the end that Beth is actually Felicia's daughter. I loved this twist! I think we all pretty much knew that Beth wasn't who she claimed to be but I didn't guess for a second that she was Felicia's daughter.
Desperate Housewives is on fire this season! I've seen a lot of people saying they are bored with the same old story and the same twists in the show but for me, it is these that make the show! It wouldn't be the same without the awkward dinner party situations and the big shocking twist three times a season. This season is taking the show back to its roots and I am loving it.
