-Ratings Breakdown:
Football-ignited NBC led the Sunday overnights (and will dominate in total viewers and adults 18-49), with Indianapolis at Washington at an estimated 13.1 rating/20 share for the primetime (8:30-11 p.m.) portion. Keep in mind, of course, that results for any live sporting event are always approximate. Here is the half-hour breakdown:
Sunday Night Football (NBC)
8:30 p.m.: 12.0/19 (#1)
9:00 p.m.: 13.8/20 (#1)
9:30 p.m.: 13.9/20 (#1)
10:00 p.m.: 12.8/19 (#1)
10:30 p.m.: 12.8/20 (#1)
Since Fox countered with baseball, consider this football performance particularly impressive. Earlier in the evening on NBC was pre-game Football Night in America as follows:
Football Night in America
7:00 p.m. – part one: 3.0/ 5 (#4)
7:30 p.m. – part two: 4.7/ 8 (#3)
8:00 p.m. – part three: 8.4/14 (#1)
Fox got a major boost last night with an approximate half-hour football overrun at a very dominant 14.3/25 in the overnights at 7 p.m. That led into post-game The OT at a second-place 6.9/12 at 7:30 p.m., followed by game two of the National League Championship Series, San Francisco at Philadelphia, at an estimated 6.7/10 in overnights from 8:30-11 p.m. Here is the half-hour breakdown:
NCLS, Game 2 (Fox)
8:30 p.m.: 7.6/12 (#2)
9:00 p.m.: 6.6/10 (#4)
9:30 p.m.: 6.8/10 (#4)
10:00 p.m.: 6.5/10 (#4)
10:30 p.m.: 6.1/10 (#4)
Earlier in the evening on Fox was the baseball pre-game show at an estimated 6.6/11 (#4) in the 8 p.m. half-hour.
Over at CBS, all individual program results are also approximate because the schedule did not kick-in until about 7:15 p.m. due to a short football overrun. With that in mind, here are the results for CBS by half-hour:
CBS/Sunday
7:00 p.m. – Football / 60 Minutes: 9.3/15 (#2)
7:30 p.m. – 60 Minutes: 9.8/16 (#1)
8:00 p.m. – 60 Minutes / The Amazing Race: 7.8/12 (#2)
8:30 p.m. – The Amazing Race: 7.1/11 (#3)
9:00 p.m. – The Amazing Race / Undercover Boss: 7.8/11 (#3)
9:30 p.m. – Undercover Boss: 8.8/13 (#3)
10:00 p.m. – Undercover Boss / CSI: Miami: 7.7/12 (#2)
10:30 p.m. – CSI: Miami: 7.5/12 (#2)
The Amazing Race is an attraction among adults 18-49, of course, but the bigger performer remains sophomore Undercover Boss. Relocated CSI: Miami, meanwhile, is a significant improvement over failed occupant Three Rivers (which aired in place of Cold Case on the year-ago week).
ABC had nothing unusual to report with its combination of America’s Funniest Home Videos (#3: 4.0/ 7), which is showing its age, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (#4: 5.6/ 9), standout Desperate Housewives (#2: 8.9/13) and Brothers & Sisters (#3: 6.4/10). As reported last week, ABC has ordered four additional scripts for Brothers & Sisters, which would bring the current season episode order up to a full 22.
