  1. OMFG! So I'm swearing (cursing???) a lot right now... so yeah it was good... awesome. BUT IM PISSED! god. HOW CAN THEY END IT LIKE THIS! DAMN IT!!!

Oh and WOOHOO!!! I knew he couldnt feel any thing! I'm so proud

Hated the part with Lisa, now I dont see how we can see her again if deep down she doesnt want him to be there... wtf that pissed me off in the wrong way. the other stuff was awesome

I dont even remember most of this episode lol black out the begining after "he is not human" hahaha

    ReplyDelete
  2. it was so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That ending was brutal though and now all I want is the new episode

    ReplyDelete
  3. :DDD Yeah lol I thought after this episode I would be more at peace with the 7 days wait between each show BUT DAMN its WORST THAN EVER

    ReplyDelete
  4. This was amazing! I loved how genuinely freaked out Veritas was when Sam lied. The only part I find fault in is in the promo-seriously, revealing the big secret in a friggin' promo?

  5. I CANNOT BREATH. AND I STILL CANNOT BELIEVE I WAS RIGHT.

Where the hell is the voting option for "Epic FTW?" Yo, poll dudes, restart the voting and add that option for me, I need to upgrade.

Seriously, though, I can't breath. I'm flailing so much right now I am having an incredibly difficult time typing properly. (Not kidding, I went back over this about five times until I got all the corrections. Thank you, Spell Correction.)

This episode has pretty much cemented me as a Lifer. I am in love with this show. I am SO in love with this show. And the show wouldn't be so amazing without its actors and writers and producers and everyone. Let's put it this way -- I am officially Supernatural's bitch.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Not really a secret... most of us had it figured out... which means there's something else wrong, too O.o

    ReplyDelete
  7. OMG I will quote you from now one "I am officially Supernatural's bitch" couldnt have said it better

    ReplyDelete
  8. Seriously is there some haters that come here and click on awefull and poor just to anoy the fans? Cause men its freakin working. SAY SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!! It makes me sad

    ReplyDelete
  9. hahaha, well maybe they cant do any thing for him but of course they wont kill him duh ahahaha. I cant wait for the grand pa / dean fight hahaha. AW! DAMN THIS SHOW IS TO GOOD FOR MY MENTAL HEALTH.... sorry hum... im tired

    ReplyDelete
  10. I often wonder that myself. I am thinking people go on to these boards for various shows to just click awful and poor just to annoy the actual fans of the shows.

Great episode. I am with someone else who stated earlier that they were annoyed that it was revealed in the promo for next week what is wrong with Sam.

  11. No, it's just people freaking out and not giving the show a chance to show where the theme is going, same as the season premiere. Remember how many viewers dropped between Exile on Main Street and Two And A Half Men, just because Dean started off domesticated?

    ReplyDelete
  12. lol. Well, hell, I suppose there are worse things I could be quoted on :D

    ReplyDelete
  13. Yeah but they could share there thoughts. Read a lot of bad reviews on the premiere and as much as i LOVED it I saw what they meant... a little.

and the drop is also cause the show is on friday night... I only watched it twice live and im a die hard fan.... got work and friends... annoying friends they know i dont want to do stuff on friday nights ahhahahaha

  14. I knew it. He has no soul. It hurt deep down that Lisa left Dean like that. She did want to know, so everything she said to him about trying to work it out was not the truth in essence. Now, Dean thinks he's a killer only. I hate that he was so brutal at the end, but after the vampires, Lisa, and the lies, he cracked under it. I pity Sam, who can't even cry over the situation because there's nothing there to cry over. Next week can't get here soon enough for me. Incredible episode, and for those who deserted the show, it's like season 1. It started off slow, but watch out. It's getting better every episode.

  15. The end brought full-on chills down my back.
    Supernatural is back y'all.
There were a couple tiny hiccups (the first glimpse of the goddess with her meow-mix face was LOL, and I can't remember the other 2 little issues I had) but overall this was JUST what we needed.

AND did I call it or what!? I knew Sammy would be immune to the truth spell!!!

    ReplyDelete
  16. A truly great episode! I love how the people who asked for the truth were all watching or had the news reporter on in the background, unknowingly invoking Veritas, including Dean. I had quessed as much about Sam not feeling anything and why, but loved the way it played out, right down to the beatdown from Dean. After everything, it was such pure human emotion to lash out at the one person who had lied, manipulated and caused you to doubt everything you once trusted more than anything. I felt a little bad for Sam, and glad he finally told the truth, but it was a case of too little, too late. If he'd only come clean sooner. Sure, he was a better hunter because he didn't feel anything, but Sam had to know that wasn't a good thing. And it was probably why he stayed away from Dean for so long -- the one person who he couldn't hide it from for long.

I am a bit disappointed in Lisa, but understand her having to put Ben first. But she knew who and what Dean was, so it should come as no surprise that something violent could happen. Of course, I thought she knew what kind of person Dean was. Her admission that it was because Sam came back that she knew it was over was a bit convenient. I'm not sure we've seen the last of her, tho. It's gonna kill Dean to lose them like this, but he has to focus on fixing Sam now that he knows what's wrong. Lisa and Ben would be a distraction.

His confession about being a killer, not a father was heartbreaking. He truly wanted to be happy, have a family, but deep down knew it wasn't possible. He has a history of seeing himself in the worst light possible, and this didn't help that opinion. Now, who has Sam's soul? Lucifer? Balthazar? Someone we haven't met yet? Intriguing plot, but monsters never learn. Don't ever threaten one of the Winchesters. It won't end well. Really looking forward to next week and learning more about the mystery and getting further into the rest of the story with Gpa Creepy and the CSKs. Fasten your seat belts, kids. We're in for a hell of a ride!

  17. Hopefully unlike the first season, there won't be any... "Bugs" this season. lol

    ReplyDelete
  18. *bows* yes you did. But it was better then what I felt when you sugested it. THANK GOD lol.

so by the end of next episode brothers r back? :DDDD

    ReplyDelete
  19. I see I'm not the only one who is a superhardcore fan :) I'm really happy to know I'm not the only one who enjoyed the premiere also. I don't understand cause I tought it was really cool. I really love Dean and to see him in a different scenario was kinda cool (I still prefer seing him kick some ass like in Live Free or Twihard ^^). I think we Supernatural fans are really harsh sometimes. It seems sometimes that some people are just never happy. Also, not to sound like a creap but I love all your comments. Can't wait to see what the writers have for us this season!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Woah. The ending, just... WOAH. I don't even know where to begin. Sam switching on the emotional, "I've got your back, bro" puppydog look only to turn around and have his face go completely BLANK was utterly chilling to watch. And then, at the end, when Dean snaps... Jesus. I think I might have to go back and watch it a second time just to see all the stuff I might have missed, I feel like there were a lot of subtle nuances, especially on Jared's part, when it came to acting in this episode... The Bobby phone call was pretty hilarious, too. This show always knows how to balance the drama with the right touch of humor!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Though ~ Knowing that I have less anxiety about watching the next episode, while still being really interested to see what happens in it.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Thanks so much :DDD. You do not sound like a creep ahahah. I am here a lot.
And about the premiere... I'm a new fan so i didnt care that season 6 was happening despite the "five season plan" and all that bullshit, and that it was bad to keep this show going ANY WAY! LOl and when I saw the premiere I was likke. omg this will shut ever body's trap whole cause that was AWESOME then I go here and on twitter and people Hated it, I was so choked. I felt like Kripke with the season 5 final aahaahah. (comic con this year ...)

I love this season so much this far. AND CASTIEL IS THERE!!!! ahahah. As long as my boys are there and kicking so ass im gonna be happy hahaah

    ReplyDelete
  23. Rewatching the season 6 will be so much more fun. I wonder if they told Jared what happened to Sam from the first episode... They most have... I mean when he met with dean the first time he was so .. disconnected

  24. NEXT WEEK promo family matters. : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axN8wGwj4bU&feature=player_embedded#!

and again with jessica stroup... At least I like her but f***** off 90210

  25. Was nice seeing Dean take a moment out of his busy hunt to admire the lady's new boobs. I mean the poor thing- she asked him so nice- how could he deny her her wish?

Sam not being human? We have been getting hints that all monsters start somewhere....the vessel corrupted by demon blood, inhabited by Lucifer would be pretty ripe for transformation.....

Anyone else kind of feel good when Dean beat the crap out of Sam for pulling him back into this when he had worked so hard to push him out?

    ReplyDelete
  26. I thought the same thing. I mean sure it was a major fan theory but you don't give stuff away like that in a friggen promo! Promo should have had a damn spoiler tag because to be honest it killed some of my anticipation that built up from the end of the ep. I was fuming during the commercial break inbetween that that was the end. Another "How can they leave me like this for another week it's torture!" Then the promo played and it's like "Oh well thanks for that reveal I'm not as on edge about next week's episode now" -_- You give away big reveals like that in the episodes when they air. Let the fans sweat it out and theorize for another week. Take it slow and steady that's always been the SPN way and what I absolutely love about the series. This week's truth was Sam isn't human therefore ruling out the Post Hell Trauma theories and Castiel ruled out the Lucifer theory. So let us keep guessing for one more week and then tell us during the damn episode "Hey guess what, Sam doesn't have a friggen soul he probably left in back in the damn cage, now what the heck are we (Dean and co.) going to do?"

    ReplyDelete
  27. Before I say anything else I want to thank Wilson and Dahne for providing us with the Vampiric Vision analysis, and the What's Wrong With Sam poll. It was great to have so much interesting and insightful discussion to fill in the time between episodes. I sincerely hope you've both got enough spare time to come up with more brilliant ways to entertain us through hellatus. Fantastic effort both of you! ;)))

Tonight's episode ROCKED. (And it only took 3 hours to download instead of 6 last week)
All the necessary Supernatural elements were there: I laughed, cried (well almost), and hid behind my pillow - what more could I ask for? This season is incredible!

At least I could feel sorry for Sam by the end tonight instead of just wanting to beat the everliving crap out of him.

As Rochey says: Poor Dean :( Poor Sam :(
Poor Lisa and Ben too :( although that was inevitable I guess.

And Wilson was right - Sam was immune to the truth curse (good call Wilson) - but we did get some truth out of Sam anyway, so I don't have to go to Vancouver and do nasty things to Sera after all.

I am sooo happy right now!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I think they will have to get Sam's soul back from hell or from some hellish creature which will neatly bring back Crowley. Man, I love Mark Sheppard.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Wilson was right , yay Wilson /0/

    ReplyDelete
  30. We already had bugs... Remember them crawling out of the cops head???? Hahahahaha

    ReplyDelete
  31. One thing is quite clear;

Sam was faking it or NOT telling the entire truth. Because he for sure had a lot of emotions through the episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  32. oh but was it really the truth? Seemed a lot of emotions for a man who has none. ;)

I would not be surprised if Sam did not tell the entire truth or outright lied (that is unless having no soul makes you immune to truth, allows you to feel emotions and makes lights blow up in your presence)

    ReplyDelete
  33. Awesome is an understatement!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Nope. Sam deserved a bit of a beat down for letting Dean be turned... but he continued to beat him after he was defenseless (looked like #6 out of 14)... After about #10 I got about as mad at Dean as I was at Sam last week. There was a cure. Dean escaped from Sam and blamed Sam for his actions with Lisa. Then, Dean finds out the truth, Sam said he needed help... and Dean beats the snot out of him when Sam didn't raise a hand in defense... Yep, not so happy after about #10....

    ReplyDelete
  35. I just don't get returning Sam without a Soul. It doesn't add up with Grandpa Creepy and the alphas. Maybe the connection is whoever brought him back, but I just have a very big problem accepting that it's Sam and he doesn't have a soul. And is that what really makes him not human? I just have the worst time when episodes end like this and I'm left with the aftermath and things aren't adding up, because I hated going over and over the math exercises too see what I did wrong.
I feel so sorry for Dean and what he goes through, with Lisa, with Sam and with himself, accepting that he's tied to this life, but on the other hand, this life will hunt him down wherever he goes, and having Sam by his side, though not at the moment, is a good thing, because they've always had each other's backs (maybe not now, and neither in season 4). I say, why try to run when you know you cannot hide. But I hate the fact that they ended it with Lisa like that. Or maybe we will see Lisa again, who knows, it got so complicated that I don't know if I should love it or hate it.
but back to Sam, I still hope that he is a doppelganger and he just thinks that he is the real deal, no matter how absurd that sounds and even though they said it was really Sam. It sounds better than Sam with no soul, I mean, come on! Poor Dean, but poor Sammy too. How much more can he take?!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Oh and by the way, I think if we told the truth more often, we wouldn't be caught up in situations we don't want to be caught in. I like lying, I lie all the time, but sometimes, I just want to tell the truth to one person, without him or her being offended by it. Sometimes we need to take in a little truth, even if it hurts us. And yes, it would be a much lonelier place for us to live in, but at least we wouldn't have to pretend as much, which I think would be quite liberating.

    ReplyDelete
  37. It was one of the best epis so far in S6. It kept me on edge the whole time, my lips trembling from time-to-time. I've just finished You can't handle the truth like... 5 minutes ago so I'm still shaken.
Two words: I KNEW. My friends were laughing at me, because afther the first epi of S6, I was freaking out, jumping "this is not Sam. It's not him, his soul's gone. I don't believe it's him." And after all those Lucifer theories... But I like how he finally confessed he didn't feel anything. And asking Dean for help? May I tell I was sobbing at that time? And it ended and I stared at my TV in disbelief.
I was a little sceptic about what will happen in S6 but after this, I truly believe where's Sera Gamble leading us. I think Sam's missing soul is a great twist, I hope that it gets handled carefully.
About this "huge twist" getting revealed in promo, half of the fans already knew there's something wrong with his soul. Or him in general. A real question is: what made his soul leave? Is it in cage, captured by demons? Did it get lost by bargaining with angels or what?
I am glad that Sera finally eased our tension about what's wrong. I don't feel this edgy anymore, just oriented on finding out what's wrong, where did it go, how did it get lost.

    ReplyDelete
  38. What the hell was that!!!!!!!!! *screaming at my computer screen* !

First of all - Dean kicked Sam's ass ~! HOT. and then *fade to black* ?! that's just plain torturer.
Sam's asking for help is good - it puts the brothers back on the same page.
Dean is Bobby's favorite - niceeee.
Dean was extremely angsty in this episode. I like angsty Dean. =]

    ReplyDelete
  39. I smell misdirection. Sam not having a soul may be true, but I think Veritas' comment that he's not human is true too. I'm going with Angel vessel (Gabriel) at the moment, and I think one of the regrettable things Cass talks about is lying to Dean about his brother. I think monster armies will be tied to the angle wars.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Sera is in Los Angeles where all the other writers are.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I think the angel vessel for next week's episode is Raphael, not Gabriel.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I meant that there's something in him now - something that has an agenda regarding the alphas and something that has the power to lie to Veritas.

    ReplyDelete
  43. About the spoiler in the promo: I'm pretty sure that will be the first 10 min. It looks like Dean called cas right after beating sam. its a spoiler sure but not the main part of next week episode i guess

    ReplyDelete
  44. Ahahaha, that was my thoughts to. hhehe. I guess he has a concience and knows that something is wrong... He just doesnt feel love, hate, doesnt care if people gets hurt or what ever.

.. or you know... it would be to boring if sam only had a blink face during the last 10 min...

    ReplyDelete
  45. The problem is that the truth isnt always what ou really mean. If I told the truth all the time I don't think I would have my friends with me any more hahaha. I love them to death but sometimes they anoy me and you just cant tell that to someone over and over again hahhahaa.

You should watch an episode of House I think... men i dont remember what it is but the guy cant lie and its brutal what he says to every one he loves haahaha. any way :DDD

and for your other post, about things not adding up.... they will.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I know that feeling lol. I didn't think it was gonna b that bad either, but it totally was.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I don't think so. Cas would have said it in the promo. And Veritas didnt know what Sam was, she just knew he could lie and he didnt feel humain to her cause he has no soul.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Uhm. No. I've been a fan since the start. When I say it cemented me as a lifer, I mean that this is going to be one of those shows that I rave about until I'm in my adult diapers and cursing at the drivel that will be on TV in the future.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I think dean caught the lies too and that's mostly the reason why he beat him up in the end.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I know I'm reaching a little bit here, but Cas could be lying to Dean. If there's a civil war of angels going on, Cas must be working with an angel who is as powerful as Rafael and is anti-apocolypse, otherwise Rafael would have won already. That fits Gabriel, but know I'm stretching here. What's more clear though is Cas looks like he feels really guilty about something and he's been avoiding the Winchesters whenever a question about Sam comes up - like he feels guilty about lying. If Cas's side is using Sam in some way - maybe putting him out as bait, or maybe because they need the hunters to find the alphas - Cas may put the greater good of the war above his relationship with Dean.

The Veritas point is possible. The scene just left me wondering why Sam would be immune to a god's spell just because he didn't have a soul. He's still human afterall. I got the feeling watching the scene that Sam was coming up with one cover story after another, and the missing soul angle was just the latest cover when he got caught. And if feels nothing, including fear, why did he feel the need to hide his situation, and why did he confess when Dean was coming at him with a knife?

    ReplyDelete
  51. There's one thing I don't get. Dean went to hell, soul only. When he returned, he had the memories from hell. Sam went into the pit body AND soul. Body came back, experiencing life top side, making memories from there, deep feelings or not.(As I see it, he does feel things but not profound) Does his soul make memories wherever it is or is there something in between, wchich is what makes Sams body functionas it is in whatever limits it has?

    ReplyDelete
  52. well yeah He beat him up for everything that happened in that ep lol. Him lying, and lisa... aw it was just perfect. ahaah. im re watching it. He is talking to bobby haahah. I love that bobby watch Tori Spelling ahahaa

    ReplyDelete
  53. Sam didnt come up with the no soul excuse. Cas said that in the promo. Any way I CANT FREAKEN WAIT!!! I kinda like your theory about Cas using Sam, you go cas lol. But I think it unlikely... really unlikly lol

    ReplyDelete
  54. I agree with pretty much everything you said here. I don't believe Sam faked that at the end. His eyes were way too angsty, teary, etc... to honestly be faking any of that. I do believe that Sam wants help. Why the hell else would he honestly seek out Dean again? If Sam hadn't realized something was wrong with him and didn't care about it, he could've sent another hunter to fix Dean up from the djinn poison and allowed Dean to go on living his normal life, but he didn't. Maybe the djinn poison is what made Sam realize that there is something wrong with him and thus made him seek Dean out because he needs his brother's help and not the Campbells because he couldn't trust the Campbells with something like this, obviously.

However, I do not agree with you on the beatdown. Maybe hitting Sam once or twice, sure. I get, but to beat him to a pulp until the man is completely unconscious and then continuing to hit him after he's unconscious? No, that's wrong. I get that Dean is angry, upset, hurting, etc... and I'm not saying what Sam did in last week's episode was right by any means, but neither was what Dean did here and two wrongs do not make a right. Not at all. So Dean's beatdown here was not justified anymore than Sam letting Dean get turned.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Los Angeles? I thought they were all in Vancouver?

    ReplyDelete
  56. No I don't think so. In that promo that Alpha...vamp I thought it was, but maybe he's the leader of the Alphas? Anyway, he had Sam by throat and he said "Weak and soulless. You'll make the perfect animal" or something along those lines. Sam's soulless and evidently weak. So I dunno.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Umm...Sam doesn't even know his soul is gone. Sam wasn't just sitting there coming up with some excuse or some cover story after another. He didn't use the excuse that his soul is missing...what the hell. I think you need to rewatch the episode and get your facts straight. At the end there, the man was being brutally honest with Dean. It's like I said earlier, why the hell else would seek out Dean after all this time? Sam KNEW something was wrong with him and think that's a huge reason why he went to Dean because he knew Dean would help him. If he thought the Campbells would help him, then he honestly would've told them, but he didn't. Probably doesn't know or trust them enough TO tell them, hence why he went to his brother. That's what makes most sense to me.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Yeah but Dean looked like he knew he shouldn't have hit him so much in the end. ahahha. looked like he was about to cry

and wow I love your theory about the djiin.

    ReplyDelete
  59. yeah me too. The writers are where the actors are. People in LA are the ones who work on the end product. after the filming. like the editor and the music guy lol

    ReplyDelete
  60. Does anyone remeber the episode last season when Raphael took over someone and used him as a vessel, Cas said that an angel as powerful as Raphael would leave the vessel empty of a soul even after the host left the body. I think that is what happened to Sam. I don't think anyone necessarily took it, I think Lucifer was too powerful and it left Sam's body empty after even after lucifer vacated his body.So where does the soul go after a powerful angel takes over and then leaves the body???? Raphael didn't take his vessels soul, it either, went to heaven if it was good, went to hell if it was bad, or is floating around searching for its body. It is going to be exciting to see the journey to find his soul. I hope Crowley has it, he is a great character and I would love to see the Dean and Crowley interact again!!!

    ReplyDelete
  61. lol I totaly forgot about that its true... but then the guy was really out of it.... sam can walk and talk

    ReplyDelete
  62. You, bigT, just might be a genius. That...makes compete and utter sense and dammit, it would happen to Sam. If anything, Crowley might have it because he's king down there Or it can be stuck in the cage with Michael and Lucifer, who are playing hackysack with it or something. And I'm pretty sure we're going to see Crowley later on even if he doesn't have it. WaB was such a fantastic episode and Jim and Mark were so fun together.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I just had a thought on something. Kind of a theory, but I could be wrong. I've seen it discussed with the whole 'fragmented soul theory' but what if that silver thread that connects the soul to the body is still there? What if it's still there attaching Sam's soul to his body and even though he doesn't have his soul right now, that silver thread is still there? Maybe that is why Sam can still somewhat feel things, just not as profoundly and deeply as he once did?

    ReplyDelete
  64. what silver thread? (that made me think of harry potter lOL)

    ReplyDelete
  65. In soul detatchment theory, or soul fragmentation, spiritually there is a silver thread that attaches your soul to your body. If your soul becomes detatches but that silver thread is still there connecting your soul to your body, then it's possible for the soul to be retrieved, put back into your body once more. If that silver thread is broken, then there's pretty much no hope.

    ReplyDelete
  66. oh okay haha. But it wasnt mention in the show. any way that would be great casue then it would explain why sammy kindda have a little bit of emotion in last week eps.

    ReplyDelete
  67. It's a theory. No reason to get upset about it. I'm not even saying that Sam's soul wasn't wiped out. I'm saying I think there's something else going on that has to do with the hunt for the alpha and the angel war. There are moments when Sam seems to have a little too much purpose for someone who is vacant inside. I'm saying there might be someone/something else inside Sam who comes out occasionally and who was lying to Veritas to try to keep its presence hidden. As for saying Sam wasn't coming up with one cover story after another, he kind of was. The first lie was that he's always had Dean's back. Then it was that he froze up. The next comment was that he did it because he knew Dean could be brought back and he doesn't feel anything. That may or may not be true, but I'm not ruling out the possibility that there could be more to this.

    ReplyDelete
  68. No it wasn't, but then again we haven't really dealt with a live person who's had his soul taken from him either and he's still alive and still living. Not only that, but we only just found out through a preview that his soul is missing. But yes, it would explain why we've seen bits of old Sammy trying to come out as well as what we saw last night, because I do not for one moment believe that when Sam was spilling his guts about not feeling anything, was he lying at all or faking that just to try and get a reaction out of Dean. The moment Dean put down the knife and seemed to turn away from Sam, Sam was breathing pretty heavily, expression relieved but still as angsty as it had been prior to Dean beating Sam to a bloody pulp. Sam was feeling some true emotion for the first time really last night. I think it was because his soul is still attached to his body, just missing.

    ReplyDelete
  69. . I got the feeling watching the scene that Sam was coming up with one cover story after another, and the missing soul angle was just the latest cover when he got caught.

^ I'm referring to that. Sam said nothing about his soul missing. He doesn't even know that his soul missing and we didn't find out that his soul is missing until Cas does his little soul trick in next week's episode preview. Not once last night did Sam use his "soul is missing" as an excuse for a "latest cover." That is what I'm referring to.

    ReplyDelete
  70. :D true. And wow Bravo to Jared and Jensen for that episode ahahh.

  71. Sam didn't come out and say he had no soul, but he did talk about how he came back from hell different and can't feel anything (setting up the rational for Cas to confirm it). If it is another angel inside him working with Cas, they could have used the knowledge that Sam had no soul as an excuse for behavior, when in reality that's not the only thing going on. It might not have been souless Sam who set up Dean to get turned. It might have been an angel with a different agenda and a motivation for hunting the alphas.

    ReplyDelete
  72. So then you don't trust Cas? Well, I don't believe there's another angel inside of him working with Cas or Cas doing something vindictive to these boys. I trust him as of right now and will continue to trust him until he gives me reason not to trust him.

  73. good thinking, makes sense.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Thanks. I was kinda thinking so, even though I'm probably wrong, but I think the lore goes that when one loses their soul and it becomes fragmented, but the silver thread is still attached, they pretty much behave in the way that Sam is right now. They're not completely devoid of emotion or being able to feel, but they are pretty cold and ruthless and just...what we see from Sam right now. If that silver thread breaks, then there's pretty much no hope of getting the soul returned to one's body. I'm sure the show probably wouldn't go that route. It is pretty complex, but it's still a nice thought IMO.

  75. I love Cas, but he keeps telling Dean that he's had to do regrettable things, which implies he feels really guilty about something. I think Cas would put what he saw as the greater good above his personal feelings for Sam and Dean. He keeps saying he's at war, and I think the would do whatever it takes to stop Rafael from restarting the apocalypse, even if that means using and lying to the Winchesters.

  76. Sam actually was immune to the truth spell... but otherwise it would have been to simple and Supernatural was many things, but never simple ^^ The end was friggin unbelievable, what a cliffhanger!
Despite the really sad moments in this episode, I have to say that the girl in the bar, who told Dean , she just bought her breasts and now needs attention, and Dean`s : Good luck with that! and then coming back to take another look... That was a classic Dean moment for me ;)

    ReplyDelete
  77. A moot point really since I had no intention of really going there. ;)

  78. DAMN DAMN DAMN

I knew it was coming but it doesn't take the edge off of how unhappy I am about the fact that it appears that they're getting rid of Lisa. I'm gonna make a four-leaf-clover wish that the actual plan is that Dean's arc for the season where in Dean makes more steps toward becoming what Bobby referred to as "a better man than John". I really want Dean to find a way to have the family and work and a real life.

As I was watching the scene between Dean and Lisa and I had two thoughts. (1) Communication Dean. This'll never work if you don't tell the woman the truth. If he had told her what was happening when he (rather unwisely) went into her room in vampire mode, she could have protected Ben...and telling her the truth is about his only chance of his getting near Ben ever again. (2) Way to go Lisa. Protect your kid and don't just let Dean off the hook.

Sam: Liked the fact that Sam was able to lie to Dean. Knew it when he told Dean he froze. It never occurred to me that that could mean Sam wasn't human. But I did like that he was able to lie. However, my first thought when Sam lied was that we weren't going to get an answer about Sam during that ep. I was worried it was goign to be a chain yank. Happily it wasn't. And many of us were *right* about Sam. Yay us!

I liked the Veritas story for the most part. My friend caught the tv cast angle before I did. :-) My only problem was the amount of yammering she did while she had Sam and Dean trussed up before she finally started quizzing the on the truth.

Please don't take my comments about the direction the story has taken as a dislike of the episode. I really liked it.

  79. Sam's body and soul fell into the cage, and maybe the cage was designed to trap souls but not bodies, so maybe Sam's soul is still in the cage.

    ReplyDelete
  80. You're right - it's possible - likely in fact - that Sam lied. The truth I saw was that Sam admitted he needed help. Whether HE thought he was lying about that or not - it was the truth.

  81. I can us both now Raya, sitting in the old people's home, whining at the TV:

'You remember the good old days Raya when they made real TV?'

We'll be swapping stories about Supernatural and the caregivers will shake their heads and smile at each other about the old dears. And WE'LL shake OUR heads and smile at each other knowing we love the best damn TV show EVER! ;)))))

  88. Just remember, the whole point of this episode was the goddess of truth showing you truths that would bring you to kill yourself or strongly hurt someone you were angry at. Think about being in Dean's shoes in this situation--He was CERTAIN it wasn't even Sam, and was ready to kill him, so to be lied to while supposedly under the effects of a truth spell only to find out that Sam is a husk with a gun, a fake smile, and he was right all along? IDK, I think that's how Dean's always handled that kind of anger/betrayal. Sometimes he just kicks the shit out of Sam. :/

    ReplyDelete
  89. Disagree too but thanks for speaking out hhehehe. Though for me Sam not feeling emotion, knowing he is not Lucifer and next ep we know he has not soul and looks like we will get more info from now on....

And Kripke is still VERY much involve its not like he left or any thing. it,s his baby

  90. Yeah, and I dont even do a lot of stuff. ahaha. friday 9pm is just a wrong time slot. even 8 is better. At least dvr counts and i think they value the itunes watch...

  94. Hi Kyelinn, Nice to cyber meet you :)

Loved reading your feedback, thank you.

I agree with what you said about Sam. I think the Brain is capable of amazing things, and i think that Soul or no Soul, the Brain can dissasociate. This happen's especially during Traumatic events, and being in Hell, can't get anymore Traumatic then that.

I'm sure that Sam has lost his Soul, but he has his Brain. The Brain makes the emotion, The Soul/heart allows you to feel it. So sam's a machine missing a part, so he doesn't work right.

I'm 100% sure that, Sam on some level knows Dean's important to him. There's too much evidence that i've seen since he returned that tells me that. The only way i can explain is by SUPER SUPER sharing something with a total stranger, but it's ok because you don't know me :)

When i was a child, something traumatic happened to me, now, when i look back on it, I remember everything, but there are no feelings attached. It's like a memory of a movie or a echo. I think this is what's happening with Sam. he has his memories of Dean, but it's like a movie or an echo to him. Sam's smart, so he recognises "i'm supposed to care about this person"

I have come to this conclusion because, he wouldn't care about Dean's safety with the djinn if he didn't recognise Dean's importance. He told Dean "it's better with you" at the end of episode 1. Everything he has done has had feeling behind it whether it is good or bad.

He WAS feeling last night, so he HAS feelings. he's just NOT connected to them, and the 'Socio' No empathy thing allows him to have no guilt and remorse for what he does.

What i don't get is, why Jared played Sam like that last night? If he had no soul , he wouldn't have reacted like that, he wouldn't of cared to give Dean the truth, he would of taken him down, and he obviously didn't want to be killed, right there, that's a feeling, and telling the truth is a feeling, and amusement at other people's pain is a feeling, and protecting his brother is a feeling, and..... I think too much :(

So... yeah i think it's, HAS feeling's, CAN'T connect to said feelings.

As for Dean beating him to a pulp, i saw it differently. I saw the promo for the next episode, and the scene i saw, it looks like it carries on from the ending, MHO - Dean 'deliberately' beat him unconscious so he could Deal with him. To Dean, this is not his Sammy. i dunno... i saw it that way, we'll agree to disagree :)

Sorry this is so long winded, my brain just won't turn off :)

  95. I had some technical issues when I posted earlier and I forgot to add one thing.

When Sam made his confession I thought about Bobby. He was without his soul for a year and seemed to be feeling. So, I'm wondering if it is something more than just his soul being gone.

    ReplyDelete
  96. I don't hink Bobby was actually without his soul, just that he had signed a contr4act that when he died it would belong to Crowley. He still had his physical soul.

Loved this episode. Feel so sorry for Dean and a bit sorry for Sam. I try not to but I just get annoyed by Sam.

One thing I want my rock soundtrack back. Really miss that.

    ReplyDelete
  97. But the thing that made him loose patience completely was very end. I mean, your brother says to you that he feels nothing and has no soul and then does a VERY unbelievably badly acted lie of "i need help".

It was not just sam saying stuff, It was sam saying stuff in the way he though sam would say stuff. And that moment I think is what got to dean.

While everything was sort of piling up, That very last lie of "i think i nead help, dean" was what got to him to lash out finally.

    ReplyDelete
  98. But hte whole " oh dean, I can't feel anything, i am so hurt, I think i need help" was the cover he went with. And I think dean noticed that. Sam yet again lieing to his face was what got Dean to finally lash out against Sam.

    ReplyDelete
  99. I think crowley owned his soul he didnt have it. Bobby would have died in 10 years and then crowley would get his soul. If i'm wrong then its a mistake by the writers

    ReplyDelete
  100. ... Well I hope if I ask help one day I wont get beat up hahahaha. Just kidding I get what you are saying

    ReplyDelete
  101. He is weak cause he can be control easily. Without soul you can lie to him and make him do stuff he wouldnt

    ReplyDelete
  102. It's called having an opinion, and I don't think he was lying. He was telling the truth. You can say or think whatever you want. I'm not going to listen to you though.

    ReplyDelete
  103. I had a couple of theories on that after talking to some people on a forum I visit. For one, there's a theory on a silver thread being attached to your soul if your soul becomes detached from your body. Naturally while you're with your soul or your soul is in your body, you would have those memories as they are processed in your brain. Sam's brain is still well intact. He's just without his soul. I did a lot of soul research yesterday and I've learned that the soul is pretty much what gives you emotions and feeling and such. There's nowhere saying if you lost your soul, you'd lose your memories or that your body can't survive without it. (hope that helps a bit)

Another one was Sam and Dean are soulmates. That was pretty much a given back in Season 5 during Dark Side of the Moon after what Ash said. Sam has this big void inside of him now. His soul is gone. However, perhaps when he is with Dean, Sam can feel a part of himself because Dean IS a part of himself. Perhaps Dean's soul is compensating for what Sam has lost. It was just thoughts, speculations and theories. I'm not claiming to be right. But it's definitely something to think about.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Okay, you do realize that Kripke is still a BIG part of this and he's there to make sure that the show stays in line and with how it should be right? I'm thinking that if the show were to make a turn that Kripke did not like, he would step in and say "hey, I don't like this" because even though he's not the showrunner anymore, this is still HIS show. HE created Supernatural. HE created Sam and Dean. Not only that, but Kripke has been in the writing room pretty much everyday. He even (jokingly) stated that he's probably more involved than Sera and Bob want him to be. This is still Kripke's baby. He's still working on it. He just doesn't have as many duties as he once did. So drop your whining over the Kripke era because he's still there and he's still very very much involved.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Okay sorry but NO way the writers are going with the soulmates thing. I value every theory but this is a no no. It,s like if I thought the writers would make dean and cas hook up. You can see signs of that cause they like playing with the destiel fans but they will not go there.
and i know soulmates doesnt mean romance but no. hahahaha. sorry that just made me laugh

    ReplyDelete
  106. This is another thing. When people sell their souls to demons (and now angels) they don't just up and lose their soul. It was the same thing with Dean. He didn't lose his soul for an entire year. If they had lost their souls, then they would've been like Sam. Not only that, but their souls didn't go to Hell either. The normal deal is 10 years and then the hellhounds come calling and kill the person and drag the soul to Hell because demons are brutal and cruel like that. Dean never lost his soul until he died. Bela never lost hers until she died. Bobby never lost his to begin with. His contract was 'tattooed' into his skin, but he never lost his soul. Crowley would come calling in 10 years, most likely to take his soul to Hell, but he was able to void the contract at the end of that episode. The little boy who sold his soul to Balthazar. He left a mark on the child, branding him. Balty never took the child's soul. It's pretty much on layaway until said creature comes to call and they take the soul. Those souls never left those people's bodies. Sam's however, somehow has. Hopefully we find out soon where it is and how it was ripped from his body.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Uh huh. And I'm sorry, but you really don't know what the writers are going to go with. They wouldn't have made Sam and Dean soulmates in the first place, so they went there honey. It has nothing to do with romance. It has nothing to do with hooking two brothers up. I am not by any means a Wincest fan. In fact, I think it's completely sick and utterly disgusting. I don't like any form of slash. So yeah, you really don't know where they're gonna go and it's quite sad that you actually had to look at that as though I were referring to it as Wincest...seriously. You should open your mind a bit more to things other than slash.

    ReplyDelete
  108. NO ONE WANTS TO BE A BECKY. Seriously, you made me go DDDDDDDDD:

    That's horrifying, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Hum LIKE I SAID : "i know soulmates doesnt always mean romance" did you read my post? And wincest UH!!! I get sick every time I come acros it BROTHERS BROTHERS. uh okay i need to shake it off. ahahah.

It's just the way you said it really sounded like the romance way of soulmates. I just said what thought on the moment but thinking back yeah, I totaly see it hahaha. Oh god sorry now I have a scene in my head its hilarious. any way. I'm sorry you seemed to have taken that the wrong way. It just made me laugh and I had to speak.

Great now I'm to much into this theory. ahhaha. I change my mind way to easily. I can just see cas explaining it. okay just wanted to say a little apologie and it turned into this sorry ahhaah.

Oh and for this : "...seriously. You should open your mind a bit more to things other than slash" I will shut up cause its not nice what i wanted to say. :DDD And after apologizing its kinda stupid hahahaha. :P Just know that my mind is open and "seriously" makes you sound bitchy, dont know if you meant it probably not ANYWAY i will shut up now. :DDD

    ReplyDelete
  110. Oh come on will are in a forum taking about supernatural.. we are all beckys hahahaa. And I'm sure a lot of us read fanfiction :DDD

    ReplyDelete
  111. I'm in the same boat as you, sister. I can't stand Wincest and I get sick everytime I see it or think about it or come across it. I just can't fathom how people can pair up two brothers is all. No offense to Wincest fans. Just my opinion.

No, that's not what I meant. Perhaps I should edit my post and put that in my post. But no. God no...romance between Sam and Dean? Good lord, no...

If I came across bitchy then my apologies. I guess I can be a bitch, but I just figured you were another who looked at everything as 'slashy' which was never my intention in the first place. That in turn, riled me up. I just hate Wincest or incest anything and I can't stand slash either. These boys are perfectly straight...don't understand why people can't seem to grasp that, but whatever.

No worries. I have to go back and edit my posts sometimes too. ;]

    ReplyDelete
  112. That's sort of what I was thinking too. I wondered if perhaps the cage didn't reject his body or spit his body back out because Sam didn't technically 'die'... he fell in there alive. Maybe that's how he ended up back on Earth so quickly and his soul is still trapped in the cage and probably still being tortured by Lucifer and Michael.

    ReplyDelete
  113. AHAHAH good. Though I am a huge Destiel fan ahahaha. But if it actualy happened on the show I wouldnt like it. Espacialy now, I'm way to much in love wit Dean and Lisa *prays she comes back*.

Omg and I heard about wincest but its not sam and dean its jared and jensen. .... ARGH!!!! WRONG poeple wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  114. lol Well, to each their own I guess. Yeah, but even Jared and Jensen aren't hot for each other. They are married men. And they're not married to each other. They're married to WOMEN. x_x Not that I have a problem with gay or bi people. I don't. It's just when people make straight people out like that, it's irritating as hell.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Oh I dont have anything agaist gay either. hell my 2 best friends are. But J2 are human being lol. Sam and Dean you know... have fun if you want to make them lovers i hate it but who cares, they are fictional.

any way hahha. That's just my thoughts on it. :DDD

    ReplyDelete
  116. I'm probably still grasping for my theory of Post-Hell Syndrome to be a teeny bit right, but he MUST still have Post-Hell Syndrome, just tied in with other nasty stuff - like being deprived of a soul.... (I haven't actually seen the promo yet.) I mean you're going to be screwed up being locked in a cage with Lucy, eh?

    ReplyDelete
  117. Becky is a truly terrifying woman. I wonder if she's human.

    ReplyDelete
  118. I haven't seen the promo yet so can't comment on that but when Sam was talking about not being able to feel I still didn't think it was a 'literally I have no soul' I just thought he'd become numb because of everything he experienced in the Pit. That he can't connect again with humanity/feelings and that is why he needs Dean. I guess I saw it in a more psychological sense than supernatural, but I guess it's going to be a blending of both.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Also I got the sense throughout the feeling it's the easier option for Dean if Sam isn't Sam, because then he has something to fight against and the possibility of getting his 'real' brother back. If that makes sense. It's more complicated if it's a bereft Sam.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Remember in My Bloody Valentine when Famine had no effect on Dean because of him being 'dead inside'. Hrmmm :)

    ReplyDelete
  121. Yeah I'm glad the Truth curse didn't work perfection, but I kinda figured it wouldn't with Sam. He was Lucifer's vessel 'n' all, the guy's made of strong stuff ;)

    ReplyDelete
  122. Lol at the thought of Sam's errant soul floating about the ether! Damn, where did I put my body?

    ReplyDelete
  123. WOW, that episode was INTENSE. Well done, Supernatural, back to being awesome. Now this is our BEST SHOW EVER at its best, isn't it? ;)

First of all, it still amazes me, that they continue to make me feel for Dean more and more for so many years now. And I'll tell you what, feeling for him never gets old. What can I say, I love the character to pieces. Him losing the character competition that early was plain riddiculous, by the way :P People who voted against him should definitely take a look at this episode.
After he talked to Lisa, his face was heartbreaking. And what he said to Veritas in the end. That he wasn't a father. Aww, my poor Dean. They won't ever let you be happy, will they? And I really, really cheered for him to keep his family. He needs some warmth, for heaven's sake.
But that's not the worst thing. Cause no matter what happens to him, it's bareable when Sam's with him. But the moments he loses his brother, he dies a little inside. He sacrificed his whole life to watch out for Sam - so being forced to deal with a situation he's in now, is the worst thing that could happen to him. Including hell.

I don't know what is true about Sam any more, but I can say I finally feel for him too this season. Whatever has happened to him in the cage, was big. All I can say is that he keeps intriguing me. Which is great. I loved that he could lie to Veritas herself. He has always been special and I love him being strong, immune to sth or powerful. Although it usually either has huge price to be paid or ends up really bad.

Cas... too bad he was in one scene only in the entire episode. But the scene was great. I love his bond with Dean and how it changes. They have like the best non-romantic and non family reationship I've ever seen on tv. "What happened to you, Cas? You used to be human, or at least like one" yeah, and I'm pretty sure he still has it inside, he can still feel emotion, he still cares, but is forced to hide it and do things he's not proud of. Poor thing. Love him!

I also liked the episode's storyline - the truth that kills, nice one. Of course you had to take another look at those boobs, didn't you, Dean? :P the dentist killer and Veritas eating tongue were creepiest things in the episode. Once again, I loved that Sam was immune to the spell. Great storyline right where it should be - when we start finding out what's wrong with Sam.

I am so looking forward to the rest of the season!!! I am loving the way they make us wonder and come up with theories and I love all your theories, people!! SPN fans are so creative, I swear the show would still be epic if the fans took over ;)

    ReplyDelete
  124. "when Sam was talking about not being able to feel I still didn't think it was a 'literally I have no soul"

LOL well as you said... You havent seen the promo yet. :DDD watch it.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Bobby's soul was taken by Crowley, for more than a year he walked around without his soul. At least that's the way I interpreted that. The terminology used in the discussion about Bobby's soul was "give it back." Which said to me that Bobby didn't have it, Crowley did. As opposed to the Third Man when the used terms like 'marker' and 'lease'. So, I'm still asking myself if Sam's lack of emotion is more than simply the loss of his soul.

In The Third Man Balthazar comments on the value of a soul and the power they hold. It sounds as though the series is not using the silver thread theory. It seems like Supernatural considers souls entities that can be bought, sold and traded.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Two things come to my mind with this theory. Sounds like they're linking Sam's return with Samuel's, which wold imply that the cage didn't reject him so much as some third party did it. Secondly, I really like the idea that while Sam's body was rejected his soul was trapped, *but* having Sam's soul would seem un-fixable and I doubt they'd leave Sam like this for the rest of the season. Oh, and then there's stuff in the trailer that implies there's an answer that Cas can get now that he knows what to look for.

    ReplyDelete
  127. I was rambling above that the terminology used in the Weekend At Bobby's ep was "give it back" perhaps they were talking about the contract on Bobby's soul...maybe not. In the Third Man they use words like "has claim" and "lease." So, of course, I went the other way. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  128. You guys are convincing me. I'm ready to believe that they weren't as careful with the terminology in Weekend At Bobby's as they could have been. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  129. oh Kyelinn, I adored everything that i just read.

LOL us supernatural fan's. It's not enough to just watch the show, we have to do research too, us and our big brain's.

I did the same *is ashamed*

I always thought things were slightly different for Sam, when Dean was around, ya know the whole "it's better with you" in episode 1 at the end. i like this idea, and the way you describe it, is beautiful and SQUEE worthy. Throw Dean's AMULET in there and i'll prob have a heart attack. :)

Love your soul stuff, Thanks <3

    ReplyDelete
  130. No, i get what you are saying.

It's much easier for Dean to take the threat down, and get Sam, then to have to fix a broken Sam, which could be impossible

    Cool Carrie, love it <3

Oh don't watch the promo, it's super spoilery, and answers your reply to me xxx

    ReplyDelete
  131. Oh! Well thank you so much, rochey! I'm really glad you enjoyed what I wrote and haha! I would LOVE to see the amulet back! I probably would too. ;D You're not the only one. Believe me! I want that necklace back! But yeah, thank you for that! <3

    ReplyDelete
  132. The only difference was, Dean's soul was broken. His soul was what was in Hell. Cas pulled his soul from Hell and back into his body it went. The angel resurrected Dean. From all the stuff that Dean experienced in Hell, it broke his soul. Famine also said he could see how broken Dean was. I don't think it's a fact that Dean's soul was missing because that's what was in Hell. Not his body. His soul. Dean's soul was just broken, damaged. It probably always will be in a sense. I mean you don't just get over something like that. That's probably still affecting Dean to this very day.
