I love Cougar Town. I love it so much, that I bother writing recaps about it every week. I love it so much that I watch every episode of it at least three times. I love it so much that I often find myself trying to get everyone I know to watch it too. Often I find that many of them are scared by the badly chosen name, and therefore refuse to even give it a chance. This is why I have decided to take action and write ten reasons why everyone should be watching Cougar Town.
1. It's twenty minutes long, but more things happen in it during that time, than in a forty minutes long television series. So basically, it saves you precious time to do different things (like drink wine).
2. The show is making fun of its own name, that means it is confident enough to laugh at itself. Therefore it is awesome.
3. Every show out there is giving you bromances, but only in Cougar Town the male bonding is so strong, that it includes worshipping (and kissing).
4. It is probably the closest thing to an M rated show you could find in public television.
5. There are new drinking games on the show every week, so naturally it provides you an excuse to drink a lot, and it keeps entertaining you even when the episode is over.
6. It has got Courteney Cox and Christa Miller in it. This should be enough.
7. If you liked “Friends” you can pretend that this is them twenty years later, hotter, drunker, more fun, and with kids.
8. It will always make you feel like a good parent (if you are one), and that your own family is normal. A rare opportunity.
9. There are songs in it. And not just cover ones like other shows offer you, but original ones. With funny yet educational lyrics (some of them even encourage you to feel confident about your sexuality!).
10. The people who make the show are very handsome and nice, and I'm sure they will want you to watch their show as well.
Feel free to add/object/dismiss any of my reasons. And please pass this on, not for me, but for the sake of the humanity which is still deprived of the Cougar Town.
