Sorry for the week long delay with this recap but it was my first week back and I didn’t really have the time. Also there is a 2-week break in between this episode and the finale, which really worked out great for me! Onto the recap:

Bill: The episode starts with Bill rushing into Fangtasia to find Sookie, who he has sensed is in trouble. He sees Pam, who plays dumb about where Sookie is, and when Bill isn’t looking sprays him in the eyes with silver pepper spray. It hurts. After the intro song we see Sookie down in the basement who is still trying in vain to get out of her shackles. Luckily Yvette the stripper is still very upset about being left out of Eric’s will and helps Sookie escape from her bondage. Sookie attends to the semi-blind Bill while Yvette continues to be helpful by restraining Pam in silver chains. I know a lot of people seem to like Pam for whatever reason but in my book she is just like Eric, no good. Bill and Sookie escape and drive off in Sookie’s little yellow car. Along they way they have a heart to heart where Sookie reveals that all of this supernatural action the past few days has really taken it out of her and she isn’t sure if she can ever have a normal life if she stays with vampire Bill. Bill tries to make her feel better by helping her imagine a world where she and he are married and they no longer have to worry about Eric or werewolves. Bill is an elementary school teacher (A strange career choice for a vampire, but hey if it works for him I guess that’s good) and Sookie is a real estate agent. This lovey dovey fantasy is cut short then they are stopped by the super powerful Eric and Russell, who literally stops the car just by grabbing the hood and lifting it up in the air. Man 3000 years really makes you strong in the wrists. Surprisingly Eric and Russell take them back to Fangtasia and as Sookie is being led in Eric tells Bill to get into a fight with him. It would appear that Eric has a plan up his sleeve for dealing with Russell once and for all and it involves Sookie and Bill’s complete trust in Eric. This can’t be good. Once inside we learn that the plan involves drinking Sookie’s special faerie blood and then basking in the sunlight without threat of burning to death. Sookie seems very upset when Bill goes along with the plan, even going so far as to tell Russell that Sookie is probably the only faerie left so they shouldn’t drain her completely, or else they will never be able to day walk again. What implications will this have on their relationship?

Jason/Crystal: Back at Jason’s house Jason is still reeling over Crystal’s revelation that she is a were-panther. Jason keeps asking her to explain it to him and the two get into a fight, which cumulates in Jason leaving her at his house as he goes out to look for Sookie. He ends up at the high school football field and sees the young quarterback practicing with a few football buddies and making incredibly super-fast, super-uncatchable throws. He figures out that he is taking V to be better at sports but is upset when he learns his coach is the one who gave it to him and his parents are the ones paying for it. He is additionally upset when the boy tells him that there is no test out there to detect V blood in humans so he can have all the glory with none of the work. This really upsets Jason but also gets him thinking, a thing he rarely does. He goes back to his house and apologizes to Crystal/tells her he doesn’t care that she is a were-panther. He only cares that they are in love. Awww. Unfortunately this aww moment is short lived when Crystal tells him that she wants him to come back with her to Hotshot and warn the residents about the impending DEA raid on them. She doesn’t want all the young were-panthers in her town to get put into the criminal system. She offers him an ultimatum: she tells him she is going to warn them, with or without him…

Sam: Still fresh off his bender from last episode Sam comes into Merlottes super drunk and looking for more alcohol. He insults pretty much every customer, yells at Terry and the waitresses and is left alone to wait all of the tables by his drunken self. A few people stay but most of the patrons leave in anger. A little while later Sam goes back to find some more beers and finds Tommy, who he drunkenly gets angry with Tommy and then fires/kicks out of his house. Sam then kicks everyone out of Merlottes and shares a few drinks with Tara who is also drinking away her sorrows. The two end up making out and eventually end up at back at Sam’s place where they have sex. Unfortunately for Sam though, we see Tommy cutting the power to Merlottes and stealing from the safe while he is drunkenly sleeping with Tara. Ut oh…

Jesus/Lafayette: This week Lafayette starts to feel all of the bad after effects of a V-trip and all Jesus wants to do is keep tripping. Lafayette has a few bad freak-outs and even sees Jesus’s black magic grandfather when he looks at Jesus, which really freaks him out. When Jesus asks what is the matter Lafayette plays dumb and Jesus leaves. Throughout the episode he keeps having bad visions but doesn’t want Jesus’s help. This can’t be good.

Tara: The first thing we see Tara do in this episode is crying over at Egg’s grave. Bummer. Luckily this is short lived and she goes back to Merlottes where she sees Sheriff Andy and confronts him about Eggs. She tells him she knows that Jason was the one who killed him and that he helped him cover it up. Surprisingly Andy admits to it and tearfully tells her that he really had no choice and wishes that he hadn’t done what he did. She seems to forgive him but we aren’t fully sure because next thing you know she is over at the bar taking shots with the super drunk Sam and then even more next thing you know she is having sex with him. Wonder how that is going to play out next week…

Jessica/Hoyt: This week Jessica and Hoyt are finally back to being a couple after 10 episodes of will they or won’t they annoying-ness. The two are making out in Bills house and in the middle of it Jessica blurts out about how she killed a truck driver while they were broken up because she didn’t know how to control her feeding. Man that really killed the making out mood. Hoyt reacts surprisingly well to this and tells her to feed on him, the strangest response ever on True Blood to someone admitting that they murdered someone. Back at Hoyt’s moms house we see Summer at her door and find out that she and Hoyt’s mom were in cahoots! Summer is crying because she even tried to win him over with her biscuits and even with sex but he still went off to be with Jessica. With a crazy look in her eye she tells Summer not to give up just yet…

Holly/Arlene: At work Arlene talks with Holly more about the Wicca abortion ritual and tells her she wants to go through with it. The two of them walk out following Sam’s insult-fest and Holly steals some salt to be used in the ceremony. The ceremony is super weird and really involves little to no magic. Mostly it is Holly making a salt circle, taking a drop of Arlene’s blood and then doing a whole lot of waiting under the stars. I really hope the witches of next season have better magic than this. Arlene goes back home and has an incredibly spooky dream where she is not only fishing in some Bon Tempts pond, but also talking to her dead(?) mother. This craziness ends when Terry wakes her up and she is surprised to see her stomach is bleeding. She seems secretly relieved when she thinks the baby has died but then goes to the hospital and finds out that the baby is alive and well…

Eric: Eric’s story this week starts off with him going to a local museum to see Russell who is now hell bent on killing him. Russell asks him why he did it and Eric finally reveals his 1000 year-old blood revenge he has had with king Russell. Russell doesn’t think much of his pathetic human family and wants to start the fight. Luckily for Eric, Russell is very easily distracted and proves his even more so when Eric tempts him with the idea of “Day Walking”. For a 3000-year-old vampire finally walking in the sun is a big deal so he agrees to forgive Eric for killing Talbot and goes with him to find Sookie and get a taste of her Faerie blood. Eric tells him that Bill has successfully day walked before so they need to kidnap him as well. He believes Eric and the two kidnap Bill and Sookie and take them to Fangtasia. They almost drain Sookie of her blood and Russell tells Eric he has to go outside first in order to prove that he isn’t just tricking him. Russell watches in amazement, as Eric doesn’t burn at all in the sunlight and cries bloody tears of joy. Unfortunately for Russell Faerie blood only makes the burning process slower and does not in fact grant elongated day walking. Eric knew that Russell was unaware of this so when Russell finally goes outside and then taps Eric on the shoulder to share in the amazement of sunlight he quickly handcuffs himself to Russell and tells him not to worry because he will die the true death soon with him. Russell screams in agony, realizing that he has been doped into death. Or has he? We will find out next episode.
