In a conversation about an off-screen role – hosting the Kitten Rescue organization’s annual charity Fur Ball at the Skirball event on Sept. 11 (check back next week for the full story) – Jenna Fischer told Brand X that her character, secretary-turned-saleswoman-turned-mom Pam Beasley, would be spending more time with baby Cecilia.
“Pam gets a new job this year,” Fischer revealed. “She ends up sort of taking a new position in the office. I don't want to give away too much. Some of that revolves around her desire to be a little bit more available to her family and also have an easier job. So she manages to finagle a new position at work.”
And fans of Pam and Jim (John Krasinki)’s bundle of joy will be seeing a lot more of her.
“So far she's been in three of our first seven episodes,” Fischer said. “Pretty much any time we get to see baby Cece is great. She was on set today and they got the cutest baby in town to play our baby. It's actually a set of twin girls.”
Those who’d like to get a closer look should make their way to the Skirball -- her Fur Ball appearance will have a few treats for “Office” fans, including a rare set visit up for auction.
“This is the first year I've been able to auction a set visit to ‘The Office,’” she said. “That's kind of a big ticket item. We have a closed set so we don't have a lot of visitors. You spend like four hours on the set, you get to take a tour, you get to take pictures… You get to sit in the green room, which is right outside the door of our set, and watch us do some scenes, and you get to eat lunch here with everybody. So that's kind of exciting.”
