2010 Character Competition - Day 3. Round 1.3

7 Sept 2010

Winners (Day 2)
Benjamin Linus, Sookie Stackhouse, Chuck Bass & Juliet Burke.

Please Read: I've changed my mind pretty fast on the results displaying, haha. and the original plan for today has changed again. We are just taking away the actual number of votes for today's trial. The %age is still present. :)
And we are into day three already, we have 8 characters in the Second round and it's about time we found the next four. Tomorrow, unfortunately there won't be the next round starting until later in the day, or maybe even tomorrow, as I have the flight to New York. If I find the time before or after tomorrow I will get it up, if not, tomorrows polls will automatically close at 7pm bst and then I'll get the fourth batch up as soon as I can. But apologies in advance for the potential delay between rounds.
Today we had four relatively close polls, the best being Phoebe Buffay taking on Juliet Burke, with Juliet overturning a strong lead and winning comfortably by the end of the voting. Phoebe's performance bodes well perhaps for Chandler Bing's hopes today. Also we have wins for Chuck Bass, in the days least impressive poll, sliding his way to a low scoring win over Michael Weston. Also Benjamin Linus looked comfortable enough against Walter Bishop and Sookie Stackhouse condemned Buffy, much like the show in the Best Show Competition to a Round 1, disappointing exit. Buffy has failed to live up to her potential in both competitions, and perhaps is lacking online support after so many years off the air.

Don't forget to keep following your bracket if you entered the competition at http://www.dawgsled.com/darkufo/welcome.asp

Today has some great matchups again (however I wrote in the post yesterday that we have The Doctor today, whereas he's actually tomorrow :P) the first of which is the original Man of Science and regular 'LOST' leader, Jack Shephard taking on one of the NCIS guys, Special Agent Tony DiNozzo. Next up we have the woman who enjoys a good explosion Fiona Glennane of 'Burn Notice' taking on Jennifer Garner's CIA spy Sydney Bristow from J.J.Abrams first show, 'Alias.' We also have the king of sarcasm and in my opinion the best of the 'Friends' bunch in Chandler Bing taking on of the guys from 'Glee', Noah Puckerman. The final matchup today sees Temperance "Bones" Brennan taking on one of the most 'love her, hate her' characters in 'LOST' Kate Austen. All the match-ups are tough to call, especially the last one where I don't feel Kate will get the standard 'LOST' fan vote, as she is hated by some. Three LOST characters are already through, can Jack & Kate make it 5...?

Because I can't upload pictures where I am (disappointing I know!), due to slow internet and me not having the time to wait 10 mins per picture, heres the wiki pages for all 8 characters:

Place your votes folks.
Jack Shephard vs. Anthony DiNozzo
Fiona Glennane vs. Sydney Bristow
Chandler Bing vs. Noah Puckerman
Temperance "Bones" Brennan vs. Kate Austen

In advance, the voting window is 24 hours, and I have set closing times for the poll, but if they do not work, or they aren't set at any point in the competition, the poll will close when I check the votes myself. This is not at all due to cheating, it's due to the fact that I will be busy and so please let's avoid the torrent of abuse that the infamous Smallville vs. The Vampire Diaries produced :P

Have fun guys, and any questions as always email me on:
adam.d.harris1989@googlemail.com
Also keep upto date with the competition and ask questions or comment by following me on twitter. I'm at: http://twitter.com/AdDHarris

Most Votes:
1. Barney Stinson vs. Dean Winchester (14,035 votes - Day One)
2. Juliet Burke vs. Phoebe Buffay (9511 votes - Day Two)
3. Sookie Stackhouse vs. Buffy Summers ( 6771 votes - Day Two)
Shows with Characters through:
LOST 3
Gossip Girl 1
Supernatural 1
The X-Files 1
True Blood 1
Veronica Mars 1

Thanks for voting and commenting, and spread the word folks. Tomorrow (hopefully) features the likes of The Doctor, Sue Sylvester & Sam Winchester amongst others.

Adam

  1. My vote went to Sam Winchester. No contest for me on that one; I think he's all kinds of awesome.

Also, I voted for The Doctor (as much as I may love Booth).

(I'm not familiar with the other three shows.)

  2. :DDD I love you for making those comp. BUT I agree with every one else. not seeing the numbers is not fun.

lol I edited that cause it sounded mean ahahahha.

    ReplyDelete
  3. But is that because of the new system or the fact that Jack is in this round? ;-) I'm guessing Jack would have a lot of votes no matter what the system was, especially from this site. Poor, poor Tony! He's in my top 10 characters of this poll and I don't think he has a shot.

    ReplyDelete
  4. If you go to the Darkufo site, the polls with Lost characters are up and are being voted for because....well....they're from Lost. I hate to say it, but people DO vote because they are on the show. I mean, yeah...I love Lost, but if you would've asked me a few seasons ago if Jack was better than Tony I would have said no. But he's been developed into a really great character...the sad thing is that not everyone thinks about it in the terms of the actual character. That being said, I don't think that everyone votes like that.(let's not have an argument, people) Well, if people don't agree with what I said at least know that the fact the polls are up on Darkufo affects the votes of Lost. So.....yeah. Lol!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Well no wonder LOST can't be beat. One of the sponsors of the contest has the LOST polls up on his site? Hmmm...all I can say DarkUFO is that you better not be telling people the numbers over on your site and leaving the rest of us in the dark. ;-P

Edited to say I'm just kidding here. Wouldn't want anyone to think I'm starting something. I've left links all over the place to this contest myself. Heck I even broke down and got a Facebook account again when Dean was losing so I could plaster this link over sites that mentioned SPN.

    ReplyDelete
  6. This poll is essentially corrupt... despite what you say. Lost characters should not go up against characters that are from completely different shows like NCIS... POOR TONY!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Each show is allowed a maximum of 6 characters, 3 male & 3 female. LOST is the only show with 6, NCIS has 5 and House as 4. Can't remember if any other shows have more than 4.

    Edit, Loving Google :P

  8. Don't you think it's weird that this fan is nowhere to be find on this poll ( i have counted 2 or 3 post only).

She could be useful to help Sam. But as i said in round 1.1 about Dean, she must be very pleased that a potentiel rival to Castiel is about to fell.

Castiel's round is only in 3 or 4 days and the duel with Malcolm Reynolds is going to be though because Nathan Fillion has fans from Firefly and Castle.

    ReplyDelete
  9. You seem to have a lot of information about this; i never cited a particular Castiel fan nor Misha Collins.
For me it means only one thing : you are part of the conspiracy :)))

    ReplyDelete
  10. Sorry, didn't saw Adam answer about pseudo-random placement

    ReplyDelete
  11. Let me be more specific.
As a TSCC fan, i'm a great partisan of poll to advertise one show.
Twitter is a new way to contact your community and i'm fine with that (russians fans).
Teens vote is as legitimate as another. (one computer, one vote)
My rant is not against poll or SPN or teens, no need to defend them.

Here comes the point i wanted to underline :
when an adult fan tweet an actor, asking him (or her) to post a tweet on his account in favour of a show, i call that manipulation.

It create an unevenness between fan bases, based on taking advantage of impressionable teenagers (mostly girls).

    ReplyDelete
  12. I will repost what i wrote on day one to further explain my position :
Star Trek or Dr House or Friends fans are in their vast majority adults or young adults, they have seen a lot of tv shows and have hindsight about things.
For shows like The Vampire diaries or SPN, a great proportions of the fans are teenaged girls : we all know that they are passionate and impressionable at that age. They are in love with the young male stars of these shows. Their room is full of posters of them, you see what i mean.
Some other more mature girls, also fans of these shows, have understood they could take advantage of this.
They do the twitter thing to call to vote; that's not illegitimate but i call that manipulation ; have you noticed that the contacts are called "followers". You tweet (whistle) and they follow like sheeps.
This phenomenon is quite new in the online polls world; you may think i have too much imagination and i'm paranoid. But the same controversy appeared 10 days ago in a similar tournament at EW.com.
    See by yourself : http://popwatch.ew.com/2010/08/26/sexy-beast-winner-cover/
The tournament ended with Edward from Twilight and Damon from The Vampire Diaries.

I have nothing against teenaged girls, i'm just saying some are using their passionate but faddish feelings at their advantage.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Tony DiNozzo face off a LOST character.
Leroy Gibbs face off a leading SPN character.

    Bad luck for NCIS!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Wrong.
LOST went NOT in final of the Best Show Tournament.

SPN will win this tournament but it will not be one of the Winchester Brothers.
Ooops, did i talk too much?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Wrong.
LOST went NOT in final in the Best Show tournament.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I disagree with you.
Greg House or Jack Bauer are strong (leading) characters in successful shows with a lot of viewers. They have a dedicated fan base and dedicated sites and forums where true fans can debate.
However these fans are nothing compared to teenaged girls whorshiping young good-looking actors (Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries,...).
You think you make polls for tv educated people (those comenting here obviously are) but you ends with blind mass-voting, screaming teen-aged girls.
This poll is going to be a masquerade.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Good you make the distinction.
It was alreday noticed in the TV Show tournament but it will be more obvious on this one.
Because although popular, critically acclaimed and having an influence on tv culture, completed shows or characters doesn't stand a chance against current ones on online polls.
Online polls are a way to measure the current popularity of a show or movie; it taps a lot of viewers especially among teenage girls.

I personally make a difference between tv educated fans and teenage girls only following the trend.
I will have the opportunity to talk about this later, because i smell a big manipulation is on the way.

  18. New predictions : the total number of votes (four match-up) will be cut in half, compared to previous days.

    ReplyDelete
  19. That's your choice to make a bad choice.
My predictions : all scores under 1000 votes.

No ned to answer, i will leisurely wait tomorrow's return to normal.

    ReplyDelete
  20. And number of votes are even better!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Taking away the number of votes is a bad idea. Percentages are good but not enough.
I hope you will add it soon Adam or i predict a serious decrease in the votes.

I you want to give it a try, make it last a half-day only.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I agree with Dahne about this.
Not being able to see your vote tally is very frustrating.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Well you kind of were harsh, just to let you know. And rude and... saying its pathetic is completely uncalled for, I was just standing up for what I believe in... You did not have to say that... what if I was a younger child? (I am 16 which some consider young) You COULD have had me in tears...

    ReplyDelete
  24. I'm so glad that Jack and Kate have won here. What about the number of votes in these polls?

    ReplyDelete
  25. No conspiracy. I don't Twitter! Just read between the lines. :-) Not hard to guess when you name SPN in another day's post and say it's not the brothers. That only leaves Castiel and Misha's Minions is the only Twitter group mentioned on this site. One of our passionate young fans did us a great service in the Best Show contest by getting them involved.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Is it a show that the actor is associated with because then you're just spreading the word again. For instance, if a Castiel fan asked Misha Collins to post about the contest then you are still speaking to the same fan base since he is the actor who portrays the character. If the same person asked some random celebrity that has nothing to do with the show, then as a fan of that person I would wonder why that celebrity cares about an internet poll that doesn't concern them.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Very very true, Claudia. I'm a huge Supernatural and Jensen fan and I'm unapologetic about it. I like the show because it's good. No matter how pretty the boys are, I wouldn't waste my time on a bad show. And how long can you look at a pretty face anyway?

Everyone has the right to like or dislike a show, it's ultimately just a TV show, but don't devalue other people's opinions just because you don't agree with that opinion.

    Claudia, great post :-)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Go Fi go! Off to a job where I cannot look at this poll. That may be a good thing because currently I'm 4 for 4 on the bracket competition and 0 for 4 on what i want to happen. Oh well.

Edited...Yeah Fi! I am pleasantly shocked and happily amazed. One person in this round I wanted to win actually did. Woo hoo!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I have no doubt that some people are voting for Jack because they truly love the character. Jack was my favorite character when I first started watching LOST. What I don't get is why people are voting for Kate. I just want 1 of the presumably thousands of people who voted fro her to explain why she is a good character. I want to believe that people who are voting for her truly like her and aren't voting for a character they hate just because of the show she is on. I just don't get how a character who can get almost 20% of the votes on a least liked character poll from LOST fans could be getting so much love here.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Good to see you too Jason. Lurkers and voters are definitely needed this time. This fight is so much harder than the Best Show one.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Sam's up against Jethro Gibbs, not Spike. Spike isn't until the end of the week and he is up against John Locke so he has absolutely not one shot in the world.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Why do you care what the majority of people watches? It's in the nature of television that a show aimed to be liked by a large part of the audience can't be the best show since it caters to general needs. A show that focuses on the demands of a particular audience and tries to be the best at what it does, is never gonna be a huge hit since it's too special to grasp the general interest.
That's why there is no such thing as the best television show ever or the best character ever since different people can judge the same characteristics of a show in a negative or positive way.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Excuse me, but there is no such thing as a 'TRUE FAN'. Excluding fans because they're young or female is offensive. I don't know if you noticed it but most actors don't look ugly. Can we stop with the stupid 'only-teenage-girls-watch-Supernatural' already, it's getting old and offensive to Supernatural fans who are either male or not sixteen. A poll is always going to be subjective since there is always a show you don't watch, same thing is true for the Emmys which can't be 100 % objective since they're not gonna watch every single episode of every single show.

    ReplyDelete
  34. As much as I love Supernatural and Sam.

He's up against Spike who is the ultimate TV character.

    ReplyDelete
  35. They are :) The top 8 nominated characters were seeded so they can't meet each other until round 3, but barring that it was all random.
Oh, and obviously the First round was Male vs. Male, Female vs. Female. :P

    ReplyDelete
  36. So, let me get this right. How many characters can 1 show have? I mean, its looking more and more likely that LOST are going to have 5 characters through already. Thats not even mentioning Hurley, Locke or Sayid. Not sure if them 3 are into the final 64 though.

    On a side-note: Check out Google. o_o

    ReplyDelete
  37. Not trying to be harsh. but that is the most pathetic comment I've read whilst scrolling through the torrent of abuse the competition has got today :P

    ReplyDelete
  38. Poor Sam always has the odds stacked against him doesn't he? :P He can count on my vote though. Nice seeing you again Dahne. If it's Supernatural related you can count on me at least lurking and voting :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. I completely disagree with people who say Jack is getting the vote just because he is on LOST. I'm a faithful LOST fan and once I really hated Jack and wish he would just die. But he take a leap and grown to be a much better character. That's a vote for him. And I've seen NCIS. Well not much can be said about Kate because I freaking hate her.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I am still shocked by Buffy too. I thought it losing in the first round of the Best Show contest was a fluke. Now I'm just sad. Buffy was one of the first well-written, fully developed female characters I ever experienced.

I'm biased but give Supernatural a shot. You may just get sucked into the Winchester world. If nothing else, it fights the same battles that Buffy did, and I'm not talking vampires and monsters. It too is on a terrible network and is always overlooked because people think it's just a teen show. Neither of these fit that description.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Seriously. I agree totally. Kate and Jack are my absolute LEAST favorite characters from L O S T and I love L O S T. Their stories did not inspire me, neither did EL's tepid acting, which got almost as bad as the writing for the character of Kate Austen.

Also, I can't believe Buffy didn't make it. Sookie?!!! That show is the most overrated shock-schlock I've ever had the misfortune of stumbling upon at 2 am. But what do I know, I loved Rome and Deadwood and there isn't any respresentation to be found in this competition for those shows. Blah. Guess I'll have to start watching Supernatural and get over it.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Wow! You really are stuck between a rock and a hard place all the way around. The only good thing about Fiona losing this race is that no character from my second favorite show will still be around for me to fret over. Booth will be the only one standing from my third favorite show and no one from my fourth was even nominated. So SPN, Booth, Peter, and NCIS are the only ones from on-air shows I have left. I'm voting a lot of older shows in this contest or voting against characters I hate.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Let me cheer you up. In a few days Ziva goes against Meredith Gray. I have to believe that Ziva will kick that whiny drama queen's butt all over the place. If not, I will give up on this competition too. :-) Also, there have been many comments about splitting at least the Best Show competition into shows that are off the air and those that are still on. Who knows what will happen next year? You've still got Gibbs, Ziva, and Abby in. Rally the troops because I sure don't want to see Abby lose to House's Cuddy and that will be a big fight too.

Oh and PS. I most certainly do not love LOST even if I love that genre.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Oh I wish that will cheer me up, but Ziva and Meredith are almost tied in my books lol! Grey's is my second favorite show.... But Ziva is kickass so... I'll vote for her haha! I'll post it on all the fansites I visit (:

    ReplyDelete
  45. I know everyone loves Lost but they should have a competition of their own since it its finished, not invade the competitions most other people care about that shows that are still on!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I understand your frustration. We all have some round that we are not at all happy about. I hated the Barney vs Dean race, felt bad that Walter had to take on Ben in the first round, and am completely irritated that Sam and Gibbs go against each other next. I actually think that first rounds are harder than the others because you know that if they don't win they don't have a chance to shine against someone else even when you know they would advance if they could. however, I'm pretty sure that the placements are chosen randomly so I keep thinking - next year we'll get 'em.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Totally unfair that the VERY Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo Jr. is pitted against a character from a show that for some reason everyone likes but it really sucks and was probably only voted for because he is part of that show. Tony is way better! And they are better for different reasons and different genres, I think this was really unfair because both characters draw different audiences and unfortunately many people are beginning to pull away from crime dramas like NCIS (even though NCIS is the BEST crime drama EVER) and liking more things like Lost... Tony should still be one of them because he should have been put against another cop (but definitely not Gibbs because Gibbs hails above ALL)

    ReplyDelete
  48. I knew you would be voting for Veronica. I thought about that when I saw the results the other day. I watched the first season of Veronica Mars between contests because we seem to have similar tastes and you were touting it so highly. So as much as I now hate that Dean is going up against Veronica, Dean FTW. (Now if it had been Papa Mars or Wallace, it would have still been Dean FTW but just a smidge harder).

    ReplyDelete
  49. In round 2 Dean will be up against Veronica Mars.
    I hate that SO much.
    VMars FTW.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Jack, Sydney, Chandler, and Temperance...the last one, I will admit, gave me a tough time. I LOVE Lost, don't get me wrong...but to be honest...not a huge Kate fan. Yes, I had a shred of moral obligation to vote for kate out of the sheer fact that I have to represent my show, but in the end I went with the obvious choice. But then again is this a favorite character poll or best character poll when considering acting/character personality?...either way it's our opinion, yes?

    ReplyDelete
  51. Well that just sucks because everyone had to think of Jack as the most votes this round, but if it isn't him, then it has to be Kate. How can anyone choose Kate over Brennan (an intelligent woman who can take care of herself and take down bad guys) unless they are just voting for her because she is from LOST? What redeeming qualities did Kate bring to the series? Why do people like this character? Seriously, I really want to know.

Edited to add that on a LOST site Kate is getting almost 20% of the vote for least favorite female character and that show has a lot of characters. Tell me how if even LOST fans don't like her is she winning here.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I feel your pain. My poor Tony of the great wit and charm going down in flames to Jack. Sigh! The incomparably smart Brennan falling to that whiny, annoying lump known as Kate. Someone sic Booth on that crime!

    ReplyDelete
  53. I agree with you. This site has a lot of LOST fans who were upset to lose the Best Show competition and have been gearing up to make sure they don't lose this one. No matter what Mischa's Minions are up to, PandaRunner. It's going to be hard for anyone not in LOST to win here and I do not think SPN has the advantage everyone seems to think it does.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Oh, Brennan! I just love her!

    ReplyDelete
  55. But this isnt the best show tournament. Its the best character tournament! And so far all the LOST charcters have won.

    ReplyDelete
  56. With all due respect for the great efforts and good intentions of Adam and Dark, I'm not sure if you both realize that when we predicted this contest's results in our brackets we were taking into account the way the voters used to react when having the usual (til now) information about percentages and number of votes. If the polls behave in a significant different way due to the new format (being tried here), I would consider it an unacceptable new conditioning of the contest, because we should have known about it before making our predictions.

    ReplyDelete
  57. None of my favourites are going to be in the finals. Its going to be everybody from LOST :( :(

    ReplyDelete
  58. Basically anyone up against someone from LOST has no chance. Which absolutely sucks. Because i love Tony from NCIS, and now he's going to lose because he's up against Jack. And i love Bones and she's gunna lose because shes up against Kate. And how the hell did BUFFY lose against SOOKIE?!?! Absolutely ridiculous!
Are the matches random or are you choosing who's up against who?

    ReplyDelete
  59. Yeah, I believe not having the numbers ruins this for me. :(

    ReplyDelete
  60. I really don't like not seeing where characters are in the polls. I don't think will help suspense at all. In fact, I think it will kill all the suspense we've had in these polls. If you don't know the standings, it is hard to get people passionate about it. I think ti will lead to an overall decrease in the amount of people coming to this site to post. I hope you change your mind.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Not really a big Sam fan but I have him winning a few round. And thank you for your word. :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. I think it's good to see who's winning because I'm friggin' rounding up my Bones buds via Twitter to vote for Emily!

    ReplyDelete
  63. The character with the most votes from all four polls is not who I had expected :P

Edit = haha, between me & Dark you can probs work it out now :P

    ReplyDelete
  64. The highest poll one is one involves someone from LOST ;)

    ReplyDelete
  65. Im guessing the figure of 995 corresponds to Fiona Glennane v Sydney Bristow.
I was thinking about the Glee v Friends one at first, until I realised the highest voting poll yesterday contained a character from Friends.

Give us a hint to which poll is topping the vote counts? If you say Fiona v Sydney, then I guess my TV knowledge is nil D:

    ReplyDelete
  66. freaking buffy lost to WHO? SOOKIE STACKHOUSE? WHATTTTTT? she isn't even the most popular on her show sheesh

anyway, jack, kate, sydney, and chandler.

    ReplyDelete
  67. As we promised a tease, here's two.

1)There has been around 7000 votes so far.
2)The lowest amount in one poll is 995.

Make of this what you will :)

    ReplyDelete
  68. It appears that Supernatural characters is largely going to be watchers vs. none-watchers. It's going to be interesting.
I however still have a believe a character like Greg House or Jack Bauer could cause an upset or too. All remains to be seen though.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Disappointed about Michael too. I'll be even more disappointed if Fiona loses, because Fi would kick Sydney's butt. While Sydney would be getting into ridiculous costumes and following convoluted schemes, Fiona would just pull out a gun and shoot her. Contest over.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I´ll try to squeeze it in ;) fortunately winter is coming, which means I have more time to watch my favorite shows and maybe new ones ;)

    ReplyDelete
  71. you think Dean has a target on his back, wait till its Sam's turn. Not only will he have the anti-SPN crowd against him but the anti-Sam crowd too.

I'm going on holiday tomorrow so I wont be here to see if Sam makes it through or not, I hope he does.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Technically cartoon characters were allowed. From what I recall, Homer received a couple of nominations, but not enough to make the final 64.
And I don't have any specific ideas for a next one. See how this one goes, and whether people want one.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Aye. Good idea. I like it. Definetely worth a thought. :)

    ReplyDelete
  74. All characters were available for nomination. I don't think Homer or
Peter got through the Nomination phase

    ReplyDelete
  75. Still hells upset Michael lost to 'Chuck Bass' (whoever that is) :'(
I voted Fiona, of course. :) I aspire to be as badass as Fiona.
Also Chandler, Jack and Bones. Though I do like Kate as well :)
To echo the thoughts of a couple other posters, I'd love to see Prison Break characters on here!

    ReplyDelete
  76. Yep, maybe we could split it out between Current Only Shows and Completed Shows.

    ReplyDelete
  77. - Jack Shephard
    - Sydney Bristow (For the sole reason Im just about to begin Alias, and have never attempted Burn Notice)
    - Friends v Glee? Two pathetic shows. Picked randomly.
    - Kate Austen.

I must also agree that I prefer the number of votes to be shown aswell (:

Off-Topic: Correct me if Im wrong, but there are no Prison Break characters in this competition D:? Damn, T-Bag was legendary.

    ReplyDelete
  78. The Dean-Barney match was awesome. It was soo close.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Glad you are here because Dean has a target on his back. We need everyone if he is going to beat Mulder or any character from LOST.

  80. Voted DiNozzo, Fiona, Noah and Bones - and of course, they are all losing. Oh well...

    ReplyDelete
  81. I think we have similar taste. You should try Burn Notice.

Go Tony and Bones. Best wishes Fi.

  82. Jack, Sydney, Chandler and Kate from me! :D

  83. Welcome to the cup. The other brother is starting his first round tomorrow

    ReplyDelete
  84. Cool, we had 22,708 votes in yesterdays polls.

So we need 11,354 votes to beat your prediction :)

We've already had just over 3,500 in under 2hrs

  85. What's the big deal of not seeing the number of votes? At least the percentages is still there. I'm cool with that.

  86. Voted for DiNozzo ( he´s my favorite NCIS character) , Fiona ( I never watched Burn Notice, but I could´nt stand Sydney in Alias ) , Chandler ( I love Friends ;) ) and Bones (After Buffy, she´s my second favorite female character and just like Buffy, she won´t make it past round 1 ;( )

  87. Wow I just realized the cup has started like 3 days ago. Can't believe I miss the Dean-Barney match-up. The only one I really care about. But oh well at least Dean get through.

  88. Jack, Sydney, Chandler and Temperance.

  89. One of the polls is already over 1000 :) in less 2hrs

  90. Voted for Tony, Sydney, Noah and Bones.I don't like Jack and Kate, never watched Burned Notice and I'm not a Friends fan.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Agree with you. It's more exciting if you can see the number of voters.

    ReplyDelete
  92. I adore Fiona but I don't think she will win with the complete lack of Burn Notice presence on this site. Sigh! I really want Tony to win because he is my second favorite character on NCIS after Abby. I also want Bones to win because I can't stand Kate and Bones is one of the most intelligent female characters on TV, although I like Hodgins, Zack, and Booth much better than Bones. I really don't care about Chandler or Puck.

  93. Thanks for changing it. Percentages are a lot better than nothing.

  94. DELETE - posted in wrong place - sorry

    ReplyDelete
  95. I voted Jack, Sydney, Chandler, and Kate.

    ReplyDelete
  96. I once saw about 5 mins when a mate was watching it, I walked out.. It
was the unfunniest American drivel I'd ever seen :).

    ReplyDelete
  97. It's just a trial and it's not like we can't see the percentages. Just give it a try, it could turn out interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  98. I voted for Jack, Sydney, Chandler and Temperance (because I can't stand Kate)

    ReplyDelete
  99. Voted Jack, Kate, and Sydney. Not seen the others :)

    ReplyDelete
  100. oh what the fuck, Buffy lost to freakin' Sooki??!!! SHENANIGANS

  101. #looking though the current comments#

    ahhhh... to be loved! :)

    ReplyDelete
  102. I agree with Dahne1. Please, let us see the number of votes.

    ReplyDelete
  103. As Dark said, we're trialling stuff to try and make it better! I've made a slight tweak as I wasn't 100% with the no results at all, but we may go back to it if we think it could work.
It's all in the name or evolution :P

    ReplyDelete
  104. Well as Adam said we're trialling this. We won't know until we try
something and we're going to be monitoring the stats.

    ReplyDelete
  105. You've never seen a single episode of Friends. :O

I thought people living in Igloos had found themselves watching it at least once in their life! :P

    ReplyDelete
  106. These polls will remain % only until they are closed tomorrow.

We will then review the stats afterwards

    ReplyDelete
  107. How about some TV character related comments.

    I voted for:
    Jack, Sydney, Chandler & Kate.

Really hope Chandler & Jack go through. Not so bothered about the others.
    What are your thoughts?

    ReplyDelete
  108. There aren't any Prison Break characters. T'is a shame T-Bag didn't get enough nominations, he was quality.
Maybe next year if we do it again :P

    ReplyDelete
  109. If we did do it again next year, how about involving cartoon characters like Peter Griffin, Eric Cartman and Homer?

When this comps finished, you got any ideas on what the next ones going to be?

    ReplyDelete
  110. o_o Cant believe the likes of characters from Friends and Glee made it through, and the legendary classics such as Homer and Cartman didn't make it.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Even if they weren't in the final for best SHOW that does not mean they cant be in the final for best CHARACTER. Its not the same competition!!

    ReplyDelete
  112. Most of the Alias voters probably have never seen Burn Noticed and experienced the awesomeness of Fiona.

    ReplyDelete
  113. I hope you are not assuming that all teenage girls are like that (: I am certainly an exception(just one example) But yes, I agree. It has definitely affected what is today's television culture, and to be honest...it sucks. The worst thing about it is that the majority of people are "worshiping young-good looking actors" and mediocre shows, and that in turn provides the demand for more mediocre shows because that is obviously brings in the ratings. Sorry for this rant. I realize it's a bit off the topic of your comment. The poll is going to be affected by these so called screaming teenagers.

  114. Sam's biggest problem after the anti-SPN backlash is going to be that he is going up against Gibbs. Of course, seeing how well Tony is doing today may indicate that won't be as much of a problem as I figured.

    ReplyDelete
  115. That's the only way I can explain it too. I think Sydney fans would love Fiona. Who else carries C-4 and makes comments like, "Can't we just shoot them and get on with our lives?" Fiona rocks!

    ReplyDelete
  116. Good for you. There are a couple likely scenarios, if rounds keep going like I expect them to, where I will be forced to vote against a SPN character just because the other character is stronger. I'm not going to like it, but it's a character contest - not a show contest. And no, I am not talking about a Dean vs Sam round, which I don't see happening. It will be a Jack vs Juliet round by that time. I can't believe I'm saying this, but thank goodness for House.
