Entourage - Episode 7.06 - Hair - Recap

“Hair” begins in Vince’s backyard, with Turtle using a flipcam to take videos of Vince and Sasha talking about Tequila Avion. While Turtle and Alex enjoy the Tequila with Vince and Sasha, Drama wallows in his misery over losing his show to Bob Saget.

At the TMA office, Ari and Barbara meet with their attorney, Jim Lefkowitz, to discuss the possibility of Lizzie Grant suing Ari (potentially for sexual harassment or wrongful termination). After asking Lloyd his opinion of how Ari treats his employees, and not getting a favorable answer) Jim suggests they offer Lizzie money to not pursue legal actions. The main concern is that a trial, no matter the outcome, would affect Ari’s chances of bringing an NFL team to Los Angeles. However, Ari doesn’t feel the need to offer Lizzie any more money and says he will talk to Amanda Daniels and handle things himself.

E arrives at his office, where his secretary informs him that they received an offer for Vince’s new movie, Airwalker. E looks at the offer and excitedly runs to tell Scott Lavin, who’s just as excited as E. While they discuss the offer, E’s secretary tells him that Billy Walsh is on the line (after already calling once before), but E has her tell Billy he’s out of town. E and Lavin then head down to TMA to tell Ari about the offer.

Back at Vince’s house, Vince expresses his concern about Drama’s recent attitude. Vince promises to get Drama a role in his next movie and to pay his mortgage until he finds a new show. As they talk and drink some Tequila Avion (at 10 a.m.), Turtle comes in and Vince can tell that something seems wrong. Turtle tells them that he closed the deal with Alex, but it didn’t go the way he planned and he’s worried he might have ruined things.

E and Lavin arrive at Ari’s office as he waits for Amanda to call him back, and they tell him that they got an offer for Vince that could be worth more than $100 million over three movies. Before Ari can get too excited, however, Jake comes in to tell him that Amanda is on her way up to his office, and Ari promptly kicks E and Lavin out, telling them he will call them in an hour. When Amanda comes into his office, she tells him that not only did Lizzie write down things that happened while she was at TMA, she also has recordings of Ari that could be used against him in a case.

As Turtle and Alex eat lunch in a restaurant, she brings up the awkwardness of the night before, saying that they might have moved things along too soon. Turtle disagrees though and tells her that it was all his fault, and although she tells him it was the worst sex of her life he convinces her to give him another chance.

Sasha answers a knock on the door at Vince’s house, and is introduced to Billy Walsh. Vince is excited to see him and invites him in. Billy tells Vince that he’s avoided all temptations for the last 24 months but is there to get back into making films. However, he’s not there because he wants to work with Vince, instead he needs E.

Scott and E get back to the Murray/Berenson office, and Scott tries to convince E that Vince needs to get rid of Ari. He tells E that not only did they get Vince the offer without any help from Ari, but they are essentially running Murray/Berenson themselves. As they discuss it, E’s secretary tells him that Shauna is on the phone and is upset that Vince is tweeting about starting a Tequila company and Turtle is posting racy videos about it.

After his discussion with Amanda, Ari decides to follow Lizzie to a restaurant (where he also receives a phone call from Shauna expressing her concerns about Vince) to ask her how much money she wants to settle in order to avoid going to court. He offers her $1 million, but she tells him that she’s already decided not to sue him. However, Ari doesn’t get off quite that easy, as Lizzie tells him that she sent the tapes she made to Deadline Hollywood and the story should be posted soon.

Vince, Sasha, Drama, Turtle, and Billy are all hanging out at Vince’s house when E stops by to tell them he got reemed out by Shauna over the video Turtle posted. Turtle apologizes for accidentally uploading the entire video even though he made an edited version, but Vince doesn’t think it’s a big deal since it only went out to his Twitter followers. However, E tells him that he has a million and a half followers and TMZ, Perez Hilton, and Just Jared all want to know if Vince is dating Sasha, and Vince wants E to tell them he is. E then shows them all a BBM he got from Billy, not knowing that Billy is actually in the house.

Back at TMA, Ari is stressing over the Deadline Hollywood issue when his wife comes in to the office to talk about redecorating his office. When she realizes he forgot about it she gets upset, but he smoothes it over and tells her he’ll take her out to dinner. Once his wife leaves, Ari takes a call from Dana Gordon who is concerned about Vince carrying her studio’s next big franchise.

Turtle takes a cab to Alex’s house to get his second chance, but as they’re having sex she tells him she thought the other night might have been his first time. Embarrassed, Turtle rolls over and tells her what the problem really was and she’s fine with it.

At Vince’s house, Billy finally gets his chance to talk to E. Billy tells him that he always knew E was good at what he does and that he needs him to get back into the industry. E is concerned about their past, but Billy tells him that he’s a new man (and an ordained minister) and is willing to do whatever it takes. After having a conversation with Drama about making a show together, Billy tells E that he thinks Drama would be great for a cartoon. Before they can agree on it, Ari shows up to tell E that the studio is worried about Vince’s recent actions (the unprofessional meeting, dating a porn start, etc.) and wants to sit down with him to make sure he’s okay. Ari wants to see for himself that Vince is okay, but finds him passed out naked next to the pool surrounded with bottles of alcohol.

“Hair” kept the streak of strong episodes alive. We are used to seeing Ari in problematic situations, and the one he currently in may be the worst of all as it could potentially cost him his chance to bring L.A. an NFL team. On the flip side of the coin, we rarely see Vince in any type of conflict, so his situation with the studio is worrisome. He has become consistently more wreck less the more he and Sasha hang out, and it may impact his chance to be the star of Airwalker. While it is good to see the show finally go in a different direction with Vince, I don’t think this will turn out well for him. Ari and E will either convince him to break up with Sasha, or he’s going to miss his chance on the movie; I don’t see both things working out for him. Things are looking up for Turtle, however, as Vince’s twitter blunders are leading to some good publicity for the Tequila and he and Alex have finally taken the next step. Drama, on the other hand, has nearly hit rock bottom, so hopefully E will agree to let Billy Walsh work on a show with him.
