True Blood-Kristin Bauer Interview

Making a rare appearance in daylight at the Emmys, True Blood-sucker Kristin Bauer told me that she’s more than ready for what I’ve already dubbed “the season of the witch.” In fact, though her iceberg-lettuce-cool character spent much of this season being tortured and crying type-O-neg tears, she promises that before the finale, we’ll get to see Pam… Well, she describes it better than I could. Or at least less profanely. See for yourself in the video after the jump.

Mad Men - Episode 4.06 - Waldorf Stories - Recap

“Waldorf Stories” begins with Don reviewing the advertising book of Danny Siegel, a young (although probably not as young as he claims to be) hopeful ad man who has taken the slogan “the cure for the common cold” and recycled it for many other products. Don is unimpressed (nor is Peggy, who is assisting Don with the interview), and although Danny is related to Roger’s wife, it is not nearly enough for him to even be considered for the job. Don and Peggy have a brief conversation about the Glo-Coat commercial, which is up for an award at the Clio’s later that night. The conversation shortly turns to Vick Chemical, for which Peggy is responsible for creating an ad by the following Monday, even though she doesn’t get along with the new art director, Stan Rizzo.

Don then makes his way to Roger’s office, where they share a laugh about Danny’s incompetence before sharing a drink to prepare for the award’s show. Before they can leave for the award show they have a meeting scheduled with Life cereal. However the Life reps are grounded in Philly and cannot make the meeting in time, so the members of SCDP begin drinking in preparation of the Clio’s (which will be attended by Don, Roger, Pete, and Joan, even though Peggy took part in the creation of the ad).

While the others get drunk before the show, Peggy goes to discuss Vick Chemical with Stan Rizzo (who is showing off his reel, including the Daisy ad, to some of the secretaries). Peggy explains her disappointment in the lack of appreciation she has received for her role in the Glo-Coat ad, but Stan has no sympathy.

At the Waldorf (the site of the Clio’s), Don and Roger run into Ted Chaough, who is still his arrogant self, while Joan and Pete talk to Ken Cosgrove, a discussion that concerns Pete about SCDP possibly merging with (or being bought out by) Geier. The conversation is cut short, however, by the start of the awards. After a brief interruption by a very drunk Duck Philips, the show gets under way and awards begin to be given out. Before long, we come to the award for “Best Cleansers, Waxes, and Polishes.” Roger grabs a hold of Joan’s hand in anticipation for the announcement, and is followed by Don, who holds her other hand. SCDP is announced to be the winner, and in his excitement before accepting the award Don gives Joan a kiss on the lips. When he returns to the table, he is greeted b a secretary from the office, who tells them that the people from Life cereal rented a car, drove to New York, and are currently waiting at the SCDP office. Although Pete feels it would be wise to reschedule, Don is in such high spirits he decides to head back to the office right then to give the presentation.

Back at the office, Harry gives the people from Life a preview of the next few weeks of “Peyton Place” while they wait for the others to get back from the Clio’s. When they return, Don shows off the award before he drunkenly makes his way through the presentation. He shows the tagline, “Eat Life by the Bowlful,” and explains the idea, but even though the reps like the idea, they don’t feel that it will work. Instead of taking time to think over a new idea, Don begins to ramble off whatever comes into his head and eventually blurts out “the cure for the common breakfast,” which the reps love. Peggy realizes that Don has used Danny’s idea, but Don is too drunk and happy to care, and they agree to use the slogan.

Don hurries out of the meeting so he can get back to celebrating with Roger, but not before he assigns Miss Blankenship to find a hotel room for Peggy and Stan to work on the Vick’s ad. Pete pulls Lane aside to ask him about a possible merger with Geier, but Lane explains that there will be no merger. Instead, he is hiring Ken Cosgrove for his choice clients (Birds Eye, Mountain Dew, and Fillmore Auto Parts), and because he knows Roger doesn’t pull his weight and he wants someone to make life easier for Pete.

Out on the town, Don, Roger, Joan, and the Clio trophy continue the celebration. Don sees Faye miller talking to a man on the other side of the bar and goes over to “rescue” her. The two begin to talk about the award, but before long Don tries to turn on the charm and asks her to leave with him. However, just like the last time he hit on Faye, she turns him down and walks away.

At the hotel, Stan sits on the bed reading a Playboy as Peggy tries to get a hold of Don (unsuccessfully). Peggy then calls Stan out on talking about being a nudist but not actually being one. Stan says he knows Peggy is ashamed of her body (or at least she should be), but Peggy takes exception to this and begins to take off her clothes. She provokes him to join her, and the two strip until they are completely nude, sitting across the table from each other. Peggy tries to begin a conversation about the Vick’s ad, but notices that Stan is distracted (and aroused).

While Roger and Joan drink, a woman comes up to them to ask about Don. Joan informs her that he is in fact single, and the woman goes to introduce herself. Roger sulks about not getting recognition, claiming that they don’t give awards for what he does – find guys like Don.

Peggy continues to work on the ad, but gets no help from Stan who is still aroused and is trying to distract himself from Peggy’s naked body. However, Stan soon becomes embarrassed and decides to put his clothes back on (and Peggy does as well).

At Don’s apartment, he is bed with the woman, who is a Clio award winner herself. However, before they can get too far, Don passes out and wakes up only when he hears the phone ringing. He answers it and hears an angry Betty on the other line explaining to him that it’s noon and he was supposed to pick up Sally and Bobby two hours earlier. Don tries to tell Betty that he is picking them up on Sunday, but Betty informs in that it is Sunday. When Don hangs up the phone, the woman next to him asks if everything is okay, and Don sees that it is not the woman he went to bed with after the award show, but a woman he does not recognize (Doris, a waitress). Not only does he not remember anything about this woman (or the entire day before), but he apparently introduced himself as Dick Whitman. Don then claims he is late for something, and hides in the bathroom until she leaves.

When she leaves, Don pours himself a drink and lies down on the couch, where he passes out yet again, only to wake up later that night to a knock at the door. He opens the door to see Peggy, who says she has been trying to call him for the last two days. He lets her in, and she tells him that the tag he sold to Life cereal was actually Danny’s. Don has no recognition of pitching that tagline and asks Peggy to call Life to get them to change it, but she informs him that they loved it and will likely not be willing to change their minds. Peggy tells him that the only thing Don can do is bring Danny in to SCDP to talk about it.

The next morning, Lane walks into Pete’s office to let him know that Ken is on his way. Pete tells Lane that he will not be joining them for lunch and asks him to bring Ken to the conference room when he gets there. Peggy and Stan show Joey the mock up they created for the Vick’s ad, and Joey agrees that it is good. When Don gets to his office, he asks Miss Blankenship to call the Pen and Pencil to see if someone has found his award. He enters his office and finds Danny waiting for him. Don tells him that he is willing to give him $50 for his “cure for the common something” idea, but Danny doesn’t care about the money, he wants a job.

Lane brings Ken to the conference room as promised, where Pete is waiting for him. Pete tells Ken that he is willing to accept him to the team, but wants him to know that Pete is in charge, and Ken nods agreeably. Don asks Peggy to take Danny to see Joan, as he will be starting next Monday (which is shocking news to Peggy). Don then goes to Roger’s office, and after informing him that he has hired Danny, Roger takes Don’s award out of a cabinet and tells him that he left it at the bar. However, before he gives it back, he makes Don say that he couldn’t have done it without him.

Throughout the episode we are shown flashbacks of Don and Roger meeting and their following encounters that lead to Don’s hiring. The two first meet when Don is working at a fur company and Roger comes in looking for a new fur coat (which turns out to be a gift for Joan). As Don shows Roger a selection of coats, Roger notices an ad on the wall featuring a young Betty wearing a fur coat. Don tells Roger that he is the one who created the ad, and gives Don his card (but only to receive instructions on the delivery of the coat). When Joan takes the coat out of the box, Roger sees that Don has left his book in the box for Roger to review, but he ignores it.

Later, while Roger is waiting in the lobby of the old Sterling Cooper building, Don comes up to him to say hello. Don claims to have a meeting in the building, but Roger calls his bluff. It turns out that Don has left Roger several messages to see what he thought of his portfolio, but Roger tells him that not only did he ignore the messages; he also threw out Don’s portfolio. He tells Don that leaving it inside the box for the coat was a bad idea, but Don remains upbeat, telling Roger he is just trying to find a break. He then sweet talks Roger a little (calling him a very important man in a very important agency), and asks to buy him a drink (to which Roger accepts). The two talk over drinks at a restaurant, but after a few, Roger decides they should leave so he is not seen in his drunken state before the lunch crowd shows up.

Don again meets up with Roger in the lobby of the Sterling Cooper building, but this time Don claims that Roger told him to come in. Don says that Roger hired him the day before, and although Roger has no recollection of this (either Don made it up or Roger was too drunk to remember, I’m going with the former) the two get into the elevator together for Don’s first day at Sterling Cooper.

“Waldorf Stories” may not have been the best episode of the season, but it was probably the most entertaining episode so far. A week ago, we saw glimpses of Don back in his true form, using his business savvy to impress the people from Honda and his charm to impress Faye Miller. It turns out that it was nothing more than a glimpse, as Don returned to his struggling ways this week in what may in fact be rock bottom. He drunkenly used Danny’s tagline, was yet again shut down by Faye Miller, and blacked out for an entire day. Not all was bad for Don Draper, as the Clio will hopefully lead to more business for SCDP as it did for CGC, but winning the award was the catalyst for Don’s downward spiral. Not everything that happened in this episode was bad, however. Ken is back at SCDP (bringing some good accounts with him), and Peggy and Stan worked through their problems and came up with a good ad for Vick’s (hopefully this means they will be able to work well together in the future). This is also the type of episode where Pete’s antics would have annoyed me in the past, but now I’m almost happy to see him get his way and get Ken to acknowledge that he’s the one in charge. Things are starting to get very interesting at SCDP, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds with Ken (and the inept Danny) now working there, and to see if Don can turn things around after this debacle.

Grey's Anatomy - Major Spoilers

Warning: I’m about to reveal a major twist in Grey’s Anatomy‘s Sept. 23 season premiere involving Cristina and Owen, so you best hit the nearest exit if you don’t want it spoiled. Everyone else, onward and downward…

As I teased earlier this month… they’re getting hitched! And I repeat: Star-crossed lovers Cristina and Owen are getting married—and series creator Shonda Rhimes is here to explain why. (BTW, for those keeping track at home, this wedding is not this wedding.)

“The theme of this season is rebirth,” declares the Grey’s boss lady. “Everybody is sort of coming out of this very dark place [following last season's massacre]. And there was something really hopeful and beautiful about Cristina and Owen getting married.”

At the same time, Rhimes says she wanted something to symbolize that the show was undergoing a major shift in season 7. Basically, she needed a game-changer. “We talked about jumping ahead in time, we talked about jumping ahead a year,” she says. “And when it came down to it, the one thing that signals the biggest change in the world is Cristina wanting to be a bride. There can be nothing more different for Cristina than Cristina wanting to be a bride.”

With the will-they-or-won’t-they tension gone, is Rhimes at all worried “Crowen” will succumb to the dreaded B-word? “It’s really hard for Cristina and Owen to be boring,” Rhimes argues. “If Mer and Der are a lighter couple, Cristina and Owen are so fraught with their darkness and their twistiness that I can’t imagine them getting boring ever.”
Thoughts? Excited to see Cristina get her happy ending (at least for the moment)? Sound off below!

[Warning: This story contains spoilers from the upcoming season of Grey's Anatomy.]

With less than a month until the Season 7 premiere of Grey's Anatomy, we can finally reveal that Cristina (Sandra Oh) and Owen (Kevin McKidd) are the two docs getting married in the season finale.

How many new docs will scrub into Grey's? Zero, says Rhimes

How will this change the dynamic of their relationship? Where will they live? Can this rushed marriage survive? And what about Teddy (Kim Raver)? Kevin McKidd, one half of the married-couple-to-be, gives TVGuide.com all the dish and more:

TVGuide.com: Let's start with the big question: How does Owen propose to Cristina?
McKidd: It's quite a shocker. It's definitely an unexpected proposal. There is definitely one knee involved, but there's more to it than that. It's a funny scene because we see it as a flashback. The proposal comes out of something that we didn't expect. The proposal is not over some candlelight dinner.

TVGuide.com: When did you find out that Owen and Cristina were getting married, and how did you feel about it?
McKidd: I had been on a movie during hiatus, so I came back the day of the table read and a props master came up and said, "I have to measure your ring finger," before we did the read. I said, "Why?" and she said, "Because you're getting married in the first episode!" So she kind of let the cat out of the bag. Everyone else was pretty surprised, but I already knew. It's kind of a shocker. I think people are going to be taken aback by it.

Grey's Anatomy's Ellen Pompeo: Meredith becomes the caretaker in Season 7

TVGuide.com: Is this a rushed wedding because of what happened in the finale?
McKidd: People who have been through cataclysmic events, it does change people and make them realize what matters in life. It crystallizes relationships and can be the catalyst for people to take a big step in their relationship. It will be interesting to find out whether that was the right or the wrong step and what that means for Cristina and Owen going forward. Did they rush into it? Did they do it for the wrong reasons? I think they didn't do it for the wrong reasons, but all those questions will be asked.

TVGuide.com: How does Cristina change because of the finale and the subsequent engagement?
McKidd: She's displacing all of her anxiety and focusing it into that one thing that she can plan for and control: the wedding. This horrible event happened to Cristina in an O.R., which is the place that she loves above all else. One of the things that can trigger PTSD is being back in the same place that the event happened. So this causes a big problem for her. She definitely does try to fixate on the wedding. Very quickly after they get married, Owen starts to realize that there's a lot more to this. The wedding and being married isn't going to fix her, so he starts to step up in different ways and try to help her back to the whole person she used to be.

TVGuide.com: How does everyone in the hospital react to them getting married so quickly?
McKidd: They've been together for two seasons, so maybe it isn't rushed, but Owen and Cristina are still struggling through a lot of things together and are very committed to each other. Even though they know people around them in the hospital are thinking, "Wow, these guys are really doing this quickly," they are still the soul mates that we've known them to be. I think it does deepen their relationship.

Shonda Rhimes: Grey's Anatomy docs all grown up in new season

TVGuide.com: So they will still keep that passion even as a married couple?
McKidd: Oh yeah. I think what's interesting is that they got married very quickly because of something big that happened in their lives, and now they have to look at the consequences. The audience will see Owen and Cristina constantly question whether they made the right decision. Not about being with each other, but getting married so quickly. Nobody is thinking straight after a huge event like that. If that hadn't happened, would they have done it? That will be the question. So it does keep that spark and that will-they-won't-they thing alive in their relationship. They're constantly pulling and pushing with each other.

TVGuide.com: Cristina and Owen's storyline has been a little dark over the last two seasons, with his dealing with PTSD. Might we eventually see some lighter, more comedic moments with them?
McKidd: I hope so. It does seem to be that Cristina and Owen get the intense, messed up relationship storylines quite a bit. I would like to explore the lighter moments. We're going to see them build a home together. Now that their married, they can't be kind of house sitting. They need to find a place they're both happy with. We're going to see them have fun, because they're both very strong-minded people, who have very definite opinions and tastes. They're not necessarily the same, especially when they chose a place to live and how to decorate it. I think it'll be more domestic fun for them.

TVGuide.com: So they won't be living with Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) anymore?
McKidd: I think they suddenly get the feeling that being a married couple in that situation is not making everybody feel comfortable, and they want to have their own space as well. They kind of need to spread their wings.

Grey's Anatomy's Kim Raver calls time of death on Cristina-Owen-Teddy triangle

TVGuide.com: With Owen finally choosing Cristina over Teddy in the finale, can you confirm that love triangle will stay dead and buried now?
McKidd: That's what I've been told. [The writers] seem to want to build storylines for Teddy in a different way now. It almost feels like last season should've been the season that Owen and Cristina should've broken up, but however it happened, they didn't. On paper, they should've been broken up years ago, but they're still going strong. I like that. I think in the writers' minds, they want to not be so actively going down the path of how to break these people up, but now it's how they can keep them together. The triangle isn't there anymore. It's more how Cristina and Owen will fight for their relationship and their marriage. He's going to be a rock for her for a lot of this season. He took a lot from Cristina in the first season and, in a way, it's kind of payback time, and he does that willingly and gladly because he loves her.

TVGuide.com: There's always a lot of baby talk on Grey's. Do you think that could be in the cards for Cristina and Owen?
McKidd: I think that would be interesting. I know there was originally a storyline that ended up being changed in Season 1, where Cristina got pregnant and they were going to have a baby, but they decided to save that for later. I wouldn't say that isn't going to happen, because we almost started that storyline a few seasons ago, but decided it was too much too soon. A lot of comedy would come out of that seeing the two of them face that together, because they're kind of an odd couple, especially as parents.

XIII heads to series

Prodigy Pictures in Canada and France's Cipango are making more XIII - the drama based on the enduring Belgian comic book - and have cast Stuart Townsend in the lead.

The two companies made a mini-series based on the property in 2008, with Stephen Dorff leading as an amnesiac secret agent who's out to discover his true identity.

But a 13x60' XIII series starring Townsend (Battle in Seattle, Chaos Theory) is now set to air on France's Canal Plus and on Showcase in Canada in the spring. Showcase is also about to air another Prodigy property, the supernatural-themed series Lost Girl, next month.

Cipango's Edouard De Vesinne and Thomas Anargyros exec produce with Jay Firetsone (Day of the Triffids) of Prodigy. Gil Grant (24) wrote the pilot, will be showrunner and will also exec produce. Three of the 13 episodes will be directed by Duane Clark (CSI: New York).

Shooting starts this fall in Toronto. A US broadcaster has not been named. The 2x90' miniseries aired there on NBC.

POLL : Which of these shows will you be watching Tonight? - 31st August 2010

I think the term "Star" in the Press Release below should be use very loosely.

An all-new lineup of stars -- including a Grammy® Award-winning singer, a Super Bowl MVP quarterback, television’s ultimate mom, an NBA champion, Alaska’s most famous daughter, and the most watched TV star in the world – will battle each week on the dance floor in the sensational two-hour season premiere of “Dancing with the Stars,” MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 20 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

All 12 couples will dance for the first time on live national television on MONDAY,
SEPTEMBER 20 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET), with couples either performing the Viennese Waltz or Cha Cha. The couple with the lowest combined judges’ scores and public votes for their performance will be sent home on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET) in the season premiere of “Dancing with the Stars the Results Show.” Music legend Santana and rock band Daughtry are slated to perform.

The 12 celebrities heading to the dance floor this season, as announced tonight by “Dancing with the Stars” hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke in a live press conference during “Bachelor Pad,” are:

MICHAEL BOLTON – Michael Bolton has sold more than 53 million records, released 18 studio albums, won multiple Grammys® for Best Male Vocalist and countless other honors, all while selling out arenas worldwide. Earlier this year Bolton released his latest album, “One World One Love,” featuring his current single, “Murder My Heart,” which he co-wrote with Lady Gaga, and is currently on a worldwide concert tour. Of all that he has accomplished, perhaps nothing is more important to Bolton than the foundation he founded in1993, The Michael Bolton Charities, Inc. Based in his home state of Connecticut, the major focus of The MBC is the critical issue of violence against women. Since its inception, The MBC has dispersed over $6 million in grants to various organizations that support children and women at risk of poverty, abuse, neglect, homelessness and domestic violence.

BRANDY – Brandy is a platinum-selling R&B and pop singer, actress, songwriter and record/television producer. Criminal Minds - Ed Bernero Interview

Thanks to Shin for the heads up.

Adam: Criminal Minds is returning for its sixth season on September 22nd. That’s pretty impressive for a crime-drama, especially with ratings still going strong. How do guys you keep things fresh after this long?

Ed: Our main subject matter is serial crime and there is (unfortunately) a fairly bottomless pit of source material. That said, all of us on the show, both in front of and behind the camera, continually challenge each other to be fresh and a little different with every story. To stretch ourselves creatively and not just rely on the scary bad guys/girls. We really believe every episode should be a mini-movie experience for the audience.

***

Adam: The great thing about Criminal Minds is that it has bounced-back from a cast-member departing. Mandy Patinkin left the series, and later was replaced by Joe Mantegna. Thankfully the audience welcomed Joe to the series to great response. What do you credit this to, the show bouncing back after a major departure? Not any show can do that.

Ed: Well, first of all, if it’s going to happen to a show, they couldn’t do any better than Joe stepping in. He’s been amazing addition for the audience as well us everyone at the show. Secondly, it all goes back to stories. If the rest of the cast is talented (as ours definitely is), and the stories are compelling, I think cast changes, as disruptive as they are, can eventually be absorbed by the audience.

***

Adam: Can we expect a new cast-member to be added sometime this season?

Ed: Yes. In the 6th season of any show, but especially a police show, the 6th season poses challenges in staying fresh. One of the reasons is you’ve basically explored a lot of interaction between the members of the team and you really need a fresh face to bounce everyone off of. Sort of like a new hub for all the characters to react to. We’re in the process now of trying to conceive a new fit for the team. They’ll have to be a character that strikes different chords than the team we have, so working on it has been fun (and challenging).

***

Adam: During season five, there was two major storylines. The first was Aaron Hotcher?s downward spiral after the death of a loved-one. I have to say Thomas Gibson really raised his game last season. Can we expect more of that in season six?

Ed: We are theming this season “Secrets”. We’ve devised a secret that each of our characters has that no one knows about. Some of them are kind of fun, some of them pretty serious. The sharing (or not) of those secrets will affect the team in some surprising ways.

***

Adam: Last season we also saw Derek Morgan step-in as the leader of the team while Hotcher was out. But when he returned, Morgan stepped back down. Do you think Morgan will have another shot as the boss in the future? He seemed a natural for it.

Ed: Morgan is a tremendously important character for the show. I agree that he was great in that role (as team leader) but we also really missed him kicking in doors and whipping butt on the bad guys. I think, for now, he’s going to stay that guy for us.

***

Adam: Penelope Garcia (played by Kirsten Vangsness) is an audience favorite, so it was so good to hear that she will be appearing on both Criminal Minds and the new spinoff Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior (premiering in midseason). First off, how did that decision come about? And with Vangsness pulling double-duty, that doesn’t mean be seeing less of her on the original, does it?

Ed: The notion of ‘Garcia’ doing both shows was thought of pretty early in the process. She’s such a fun character and a breath of air when you see her amidst all the grim facts of our stories. And, no, you won’t see less of her on CM, which is also one of the reasons she was able to do both.

***

Adam: Criminal Minds has welcomed some great guest-stars. Can you tell us about the line-up planned for Season Six?

Ed: Well, we’ve only shot three episodes so far but we’ve already had Tim Curry, Gil Bellows and Daniel J. Travanti join our family. We’re also looking at potentially bringing an American Idol on (in a surprisingly naughty role) as well as a HUGE country singer.

***

Adam: From the previous five seasons, what have been your favorite guest-stars / serial killers?

Ed: Favorite? We’ve loved working with everyone we’ve worked with. That’s like asking me to choose between my kids! Seriously, we’ve been very fortunate that there are a lot of exceptionally talented people who want to come and be real bad guys/girls for us.

***

Adam: What else can you tell me about season six? Is there one character especially highlighted this season?

Ed: No. I don’t think so. As I said, the secrets will have varying degrees of impact but we aren’t going into the season planning on focussing on anyone more than the others.

***

Adam: Finally, I ask this to all my interviewees. What have you been watching on TV lately?

Ed: Hmmm… I actually try to watch a little bit of everything. There is some exceptional work being done on television and I’m proud of everyone working in it today.

Modern Family - Actors practicing gay kiss

Eric Stonestreet and Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Getty)
The kiss, the "Modern Family" kiss. Yes, there will be one onscreen between the show's gay couple Cam and Mitchell, only it's not yet clear in which episode of the upcoming season of the ABC laffer, which is up for multiple Emmys Sunday night including best comedy.

Exec producer Steve Levitan said Saturday at the BAFTA Tea party to honor Emmy nominees it was "unfortunate" that the characters' liplocking had become an issue, since the show's writers had intended all along to create such a scene "as part of the natural development of the show."

Levitan would not divulge in which precise episode the event would take place or even whether it would be witnessed on screen by other characters, but he volunteered that the scene in question will have "a very nice twist."

The two actors who play Cam and Mitchell, Eric Stonestreet and Jesse Tyler Ferguson, are both up for best supporting trophies along with three other of their cast mates.

Asked at the TV Academy's nominees reception Friday night how they felt about the controversy, Stonestreet said he didn't understand why there was all the fuss since the two characters have shown each other affection throughout the first season.

"The kiss, not such a big deal — but we have been practicing the scene."

At which point Ferguson walked up, and to demonstrate their facility, the two gave each other an affectionate smackeroo.

Covert Affairs - Episode 1.07 - Communication Breakdown - Recap

Ever wondered what Covert Affairs would be like with Christopher Gorham's Auggie as the main character? Well wonder no more, this week's episode is all about the great Auggie.

The episode starts off with us seeing a Satellite in space and its blinking red, something is wrong. We zoom down to DC and all the communications are offline. DC is back in the stone ages, no internet, television, even the traffic lights are down. Anything run off a network is kaput. At home, Danielle's computer stops working just as she's about to upload pictures for her new catering business (since her husband finally admitted he lost his job.) When Annie comes down and grabs some of the food Danielle was going to use, she makes Annie her food model.

Cut to a woman getting dressed, its Liza Hearns! She makes a comment to someone offscreen that the cable tv is out. And out the bathroom walks Auggie, yes ladies hye's shirtess. Auggie and Liza Hearns are hooking up.
Is Auggie the leak? Liza suggest they have an, ummm, 'quickie'. Auggie calls the DPD and says he's going to be late (always following protocol) but the cell phone is out too. Auggie realizes that this isn't an accident.

At the DPD, he tells Joan there's a Hacker conference being held in DC today, so this communication shutdown can't be a coincidence. Jai has a great line when he tells Annie that the hacker conference is like Comic Con for nerds.

Joan updates the division about the situation and the hacker behind it. Jai immediately starts gloating and tells Auggie that he's going to love this one. Auggie reads the brail version of her file and when he gets to her name, Natasha Petrova. He says out loud that she's his ex-girlfriend.

-Opening Credits-

They decide they're going to try and pay Natasha for the code she used. Even though Auggie thinks its a bad idea all around, Joan sends Auggie and Annie to the hacker conference. As soon as Natasha sees our beloved Auggie she smacks him. Hard. She then realizes that he's blind, but that doesn't change how angry she is. It seems that Auggie ditched her two years ago and she was arrested by the FBI. Old feelings die hard.

At the DPD Auggie sums up the mission as an Epic Fail, but Joan still pushes for Auggie to try and get the code from Natasha. Joan definitely plays on Auggie's feelings to get him to try again. Auggie agrees and he sets up a meeting.

Back home, Annie tries to open up about her 'Smithsonian' (CIA) job to Danielle, and says that her 'co-worker' (read Auggie) is full of surprises. She says sometimes you really don't know people; they could be living double lives. Later, Annie tells Danielle that she wants the pictures of her modeling the food taken off the site, because they're not professional enough. Danielle doesn't like the idea at all.

At Auggie's place getting ready for the conference, Liza Hearns calls and Auggie's phone says her name. Annie flat out asks Auggie if he's the leak. He says no. He's exploiting Liza to find her source; he's trying to stop the leak. Annie says she can't believe he would exploit a woman for intel. Auggie retorts, well what are we trying to do to Natasha?

So at the meeting Auggie and Natasha hash out their past and as they talk Annie and Jai, as backup, listen in. The conversation gets personal, so much so Annie feels uncomfortable hearing Auggie come clean. On the other hand, Jai could care less; he's there to do a job and he's going to do it. Pretty soon Annie makes two guys for FBI agents. She gives Auggie the heads up and as they're about to leave, a jeep comes zooming down the street and almost runs Auggie and Natasha over. When the dust clears Natasha is no where to be found.

At the DPD they use traffic cameras to see who was in the van; its two guys from the Russian mob. Auggie gets more upset because the FBI is after Natasha, now the Russian mob and she's the one caught in the middle with no one to help her.

Auggie heads home and waiting for him is Natasha. She tells him that in college she worked for some Russians, doing simple computer jobs, but now they feel that they own her and want her code.

Cut to the DPD, Auggie is AWOL. He hasn't showed up or called in. Annie and Jai head to his place, but all they find is his cellphone and ID card. Auggie left behind everything that they could use to trace him. He's gone

Cut to Auggie and Natasha on a train; its pretty great the two former lovers on the run from the CIA and the FBI, kind of romantic. Auggie, always thinking a step ahead, avoids the FBI by switching trains. Safe and sound for moment, Auggie and Natasha rekindle the, ummm, passionate part of their relationship. But things go from lovey dubby to violent in the blink of an eye when the guys from the Russian mob storm into the cabin to finish Natasha once and for all. Auggie tells Natasha to turn off the lights to even things a bit. Auggie fights off the two guys in the darkness, shirtless, epic. He throws one of them out the window as the coup de grace.

But they're still not out of the woods. They see that the train is headed toward cop cars and the FBI. Auggie plans a way to jump off the train so they can get away, but Natasha gives him the source code and leaps off the train leaving Auggie hanging on, screaming out her name, not knowing which way she went into the darkness.

At the DPD Auggie comes clean to Joan about his true feelings. He says during the mission he wasn't sure if he was really going to run off with Natasha or if he was just playing her to get the code.

Later, Annie questions Auggie again about Liza Hearns but she says that as long as he knows what he's doing, she doesn't have a problem with it; she trusts him.

Back home, Annie makes it up to her sister for the pictures. She snaps cute pictures of the kids eating cupcakes and other snacks.

As Auggie gets home after the stress of the day, Liza Hearn walks up behind him and hugs him. The look on Auggie's face says that she's the last person he wants to be around right now. So long, Natasha.

What’s up freaks, geeks and voyeurs, welcome back to another edition of Big Brother 12!

Double Eviction – Check

New HoH – Check

The Brigade ThisClose To Being Final 3 - ?

On Thursdays episode, it was going to be fast and furious as not only 1 HG would leave the house but 2 HG’s would leave the house. To start off, we saw Matt trying one last effort to try and save himself by trying to get rid of Enzo. His reasoning to Hayden and Lane was because he can control Ragan and Lane has Britney. I have to give props to Ragan because he’s figured it out. There is/was an alliance of 4, including Hayden, Enzo, Lane and Matt. Matt plays it off like he has no idea but Ragan is pretty smart and once Hayden and Lane said they would split their votes, he knew what was up. In the end(no shock), Matt was evicted 4-0. The HG’s were notified of the double eviction and full week’s worth of BB in 1 night.

First up was the HoH competition and while it was a fair competition, it was rather simple as the HG’s had to get the two people who have won HoH twice in the house this season. Literally, I counted, this competition took less than a minute to complete and Hayden is the new HoH!! Quickly, the Brigade(with Brendon) huddled up to discuss who was going up. It was pretty clear from earlier in the week the target is and has always been Brendon. Hayden then nominated both Brendon and Ragan.

Next up was the PoV competition and this was guessing ‘Before’ or ‘After’ two events in the house and to put an interesting twist, Ragan won the PoV. Hayden turned around and nominated Britney to sit next to Brendon. One of my favorite moments of the night was Britney asking the guys if she was safe and they assured her that she was. As expected, Brendon was evicted from the house by a vote of 3-0.

Who will win the HoH and who will they nominate? Find out Sunday Night at 8pm on Big Brother 12!!

Until Next Time,

The HG’s did play the HoH competition last night at about 11pm ET 8pm PT and Lane is the new HoH. It’s more than likely that Lane will nominate Ragan as his target but it’s going to be interesting to see if he’ll put up Britney or if he’ll put up another Brigade member as a pawn. I’m thinking he’ll put up Britney and promise her she’s safe. Even more interesting to watch this week, if one of Ragan or ? wins PoV, Lane will have to choose a Brigade member to go up. So who does? Hayden or Enzo? I’m guessing Enzo, just a hunch. I can’t wait!
