Hey Spoilertv-verse its Mattv! here with another recap!

Well last week breaking bad ended and so did its recap season but luckily last week also began another great show, True Blood! Last weeks season premiere, Bad Blood, was an okay start to the season but last nights episode, beautifully broken, made up for anything that may have been wrong in the premiere.

That being said lets howl down to the niddy griddy and recap this episode! The episode started off a few minutes after the end of the premiere, with Bill attacking the werewolves who had kidnapped him. In pure True Blood fashion we start with a bloody mess as Bill rips off the ear of a now human were. Bill is stopped from attacking the leader of “Operation Werewolf” by a mysterious figure on a white horse. He is the Vampire King of Mississippi and he is the one who ordered Bill’s kidnapping. Of course the majesty himself says this in a much more kingly fashion. Already from his intro we know this King is going to be a lot to handle and in all likelihood is this season’s Big Bad, which is fine with me, as I hated Maryanne and eggs. After killing Cooter, that’s the name of the werewolf who kidnapped bill and played the captain of the freighter in season four of Lost, ‘s ear-less friend as punishment for them feeding on Bill, Bill is taken back to the King’s humble abode. Ut oh…

After the intro Lafayette breaks into the bathroom and forces Tara to cough up all of the pills that she had swallowed. I’ve got to say that while I do appreciate that the writers are going into Tara’s development and her dealing with Egg’s death, she has been hella annoying since the last episode and I mean the cast is already pretty big…. Lafayette carries her out with superman-like strength and tells her troubled mom that she has hurt Tara enough and that they are leaving for the hospital. Lafayette, the voice of reason.

Next we go to Eric’s club where Sookie is questioning him about Bill’s disappearance and, more importantly, about “Operation Werewolf”. I think the whole “Operation Werewolf” thing is a little contrived and hopefully will be something the writers will either make better or slowly fade away as the season progresses. To me it just comes across as a very quick fix writing wise that the dead were in the car has a tattoo, and that Jessica looks it up in her nifty phone, and that they so happen to be nazi-werewoves. C’mon Alan we deserve better. Anywayss Eric eventually breaks down and reveals to Sookie that the operation is a group of highly trained and motivated weres who are fueled by vampire blood. Awww man as if werewolves weren’t enough now they are all amped up on v-juice. I smell some awesome fight scenes in the future! We even get a cool little flashback of Eric and Godric as SS officers in disguise looking for a werewolf in Germany. It becomes apparent that werewolves and vampires don’t exactly get along very well. We also get a nice little Pam/Jessica scene where Jessica asks the question that I am sure all new vampires ask eventually, “How do you not kill someone when drinking their blood and how do you dispose of a body if you did kill someone?” Oh coming of age in the vampire world!

This scene also shows a very interesting side to the vampire-human relationship. We already have seen the effects drinking a vampire’s blood can have on the human who drinks it, but what about the effects on the vampire? Well it turns out that they can feel the emotions of the person. For example in this scene Sookie breaks down while pleading with Eric to help her find Bill, eventually crying, and Eric asks her to stop because it is making him feel emotions that he has not felt before. If the series at all follows the books I think this season we will start seeing Eric in a much better light.

Next we see Bill as he rides with the king on horseback to his weird vampire king mansion. This guy is up to no good I tell ya. Nobody with a house that big is doing purely legal things to pay that mortgage. What follows next is a very strange introduction to the place where Bill is now going to be held captive. He is treated like a guest, but yet his doors are covered in silver and vampire bodyguards block his entrance. As the King leaves he says to his companion that he might need to call on “The Woman”. Oh boy. What is also interesting about this scene is that the king tells Bill that he is not holding him hostage and that he can leave once he hears out his “offer”. Something tells me its not going to be a good offer. This scene also introduces us to the king’s lover? Talbot. Man this palace gets creepier and creepier.
Next we have a scene with crybaby and Lafayette. Man Tara really annoyed me in this scene with all her crying and slobbering but that was all made up by the great Lafayette. Man I really hope he gets to do more this season than just be scared and sell V because he really has a lot to offer. Lafayette does his best father impersonation and tells Tara that they are going to go do two things: get some food and then go someplace special.

Hoyt! The whole Hoyt-Jessica relationship of last season really grew on me and I really want them to be together. As we saw last episode Hoyt has been leaving flowers and gifts at her door in an effort to get back together with her. Apparently it does not take long to forgive a hot vampire for almost feeding on your crazy mother. Jessica resists his advances and goes back inside to try and deal with the body of the dead trucker who she fed on. After a few sprays of febrezze she closes the carpet/trap door and goes to work.

In the next scene Sookie enters her dark house as scary music plays ominously in the background. You know turning on the lights never hurt anybody Sookie. After a well-placed kick to the groin it turns out the mystery intruder is just her brother Jason and he offers his reason why he was lurking at 5 am. He wanted to clean up their granny’s house and then he got hungry and ate some chicken wings. Oh Jason you can do no wrong in this recapper's book. The two hug and the scene shifts to the morning where both of them are cleaning up the kitchen. For as absent minded as Jason may seem he is, he is still a good brother and offers to talk to his new partner in crime Andy to try and get some help with finding Bill. There is also a nice little fan moment where Sookie does a voice impersonation of Bill saying, “Sookie!” Oh love.

The next scene is a family reunion of sorts between Sam and his real family. They confirm that they are his parents and that they didn’t want to raise a shifter so they gave him up to a nice family, the Merlottes. This makes the young Tommy very upset that he had to live dirt poor while his new brother got to live the high life and he storms out. Next we see Sookie drive to work and hear some werewolves discussing how best to kidnap her. She follows them to no avail, but with the help of Terry, who is apparently an expert tracker, they discover that they are in fact werewolves and take their clothes as proof that someone was following Sookie, an important detail that comes up later in the episode.

We next see Tara and Lafayette in a mental institution visiting Lafayette’s mother. It appears this is the place Lafayette wanted to take Tara so that she could see what would happen to her if she continued down the path she was. Lafayette’s mother is pure crazy and is cared for by the suave Jesus, whom Lafayette takes an immediate liking to. Aww yeah. Tara gets the message, don’t keep sobbing and move on. Next Sookie promises Andy to keep the secret of the clothes and after an awkward encounter with the now pregnant Arlene he gives her a gun for protection. He tells her that he always liked her and would miss her if she were killed, which is about as close to a hug as he can probably muster. Elsewhere, Sam and Mickey talk and Sam tries, in vain, to connect with him. Finally the two go for a run together as dogs and it seems like they are finally connecting.

Next we return to castle creepy and we finally hear out the King’s plan. He is planning on taking over the queen’s territory in Louisiana and wants to make Bill the sheriff of this new district. The king says he wants to marry her to gain her property but something tells me he’d just as easily stake her and take her queen Dom. It is also during this conversation that we get some insight into Bill’s past. It would seem Bill has some sort of past with the queen that involves Sookie and Bon Temps and is so secretive not even Eric knows of it. The King knew of this and wanted Bill because he could reason with the queen to hand over the land. Bill refuses and things get mighty uncomfortable. He even bares his fangs at the king when he threatens Sookie, a gesture that is not taken kindly. The King, seeing that his various blood based foods and promises of employment are not being accepted, calls in "The Woman", who is revealed to be Bill's maker Lorena. Before she can even say hello Bill picks up a lantern and throws it at her, setting her ablaze. Aww Bill you're the best.

Next we go to Merlottes where Andy and Jason are talking, Jason being jealous of all the attention that Andy is getting by taking credit for the death of Eggs. Andy tells him that he is taking the credit not to become famous, but because he cares about Jason and sees some real potential in him, potential that would be ruined if he went to jail for murder. Awww buddies. Andy forces Jason to ride with him in his cruiser as he is too drunk to drive and the two drive off to a crime scene at the Norris household. I really hope that Jason becomes Andy’s deputy this season.

During this we see Tara sitting at the bar and meeting the new vampire in town, Franklin Mott. Hello new love interest! Later Tara goes outside to drink and two drunks stumble outside and begin to make fun of Eggs. This of course angers Tara who attempts to argue with them, only to be stopped by Franklin who comes to her rescue. Franklin holds up one of the men as Tara beats him up, which seems to strangely turn Franklin on. Gross. We also see Franklin has similar boots to the ones Sookie found!

Back at the police car Jason and Andy stop at the Norris house and while Andy is talking with the owner, Calvin Norris, Jason sees a beautiful woman and walks over to her. She soon disappears into the fog. Will Jason fall in love with a were this season? Jason catches sight of the running drug dealer and knocks him to the ground, finding the drugs and incapacitating him. Hopefully this is sign of Andy/Jason police adventures to come.

The episode ends on a scary note with Eric forcing Sookie to invite him in and seeing a werewolf in her house. He bares his fangs to attack and Sookie draws her gun to shoot. Why does True Blood always end right before the big vamp/were fights! This episode did a great job of setting up plot lines that will be embellished upon for the rest of the season and introducing us to characters who will begin to play into the larger universe of True Blood.
