Good News Everybody!
Comedy Central has been very generous with the Futurama tidbits. They have been posting a new sketch, scene, character design or plot detail every day, as a lead in to the triumphant return of Futurama.
Unfamiliar with Futurama? Here is what you need to know. Futurama is the other show by The Simpsons' creator Matt Groening. The show centers on Philip J. Fry, a 20th century pizza delivery boy that accidentally gets frozen for 1000 years. He awakens in New New York, a future inhabited by robots, aliens, mutants from below the surface and animated heads in jars (including the Earthican President Richard Nixon). Fry finds himself what family he had, in a withered and aged scientist-cum-entrepreneur Professor Hubert Farnsworth, who beyond inventing such world changing devices as the smell-o-scope and the first robot to qualify for a boat loan, owns and operates Planet Express, an intergalactic package delivery service. Amongst the rest of the staff at Planet Express are:
Turanga Leela, the cyclopean Captain of the delivery ship.
Bender Bending Rodriguez, a robot designed to bend girders but specializes in vices.
Dr. John Zoidberg, a lobster-man, who serves as crew doctor, despite his confusion with the human body.
Amy Wong, the spoiled heiress to Mars' western hemisphere and Planet Express intern.
Hermes Conrad, Planet Express' appointed bureaucrat and former Olympic Limbo champion.
When the show went off the air, it lived a second life on cable, and the popularity of the reruns on Comedy Central's Adult Swim block resulted in the creation of 4 direct-to-DVD films, Bender's Big Score, The Beast with a Billion Backs, Bender's Game and Into the Wild Green Yonder. Unsure of their future at that point, Into the Wild Green Yonder ends with the crew voting to fly into a wormhole that could spell disastrous ruin for them all...
But fans spoke, or bought, the new material readily, and Comedy Central responded by bringing the show back to their fair network. Amongst the many tastes they have given us comes this newest bit, the first 90 seconds of the new season.

And, even more good news. Devo (or their heads) will appear in the 100th episode of the series!
