Hey all,
The nomination period is complete, after receiving over 3,700 entries! More on that in a moment, because we can now move on to the sixth edition of the SpoilerTV Episode Competition.
The draw has been done and is featured below. The draw was done so that the top eight seeds (in bold) cannot face each other until the quarter-finals. The rule introduced in 2016 remains which means a show is permitted to face itself at any stage of the competition. No such battle takes place in the first round; in fact, the first time it can happen is in the third round — and even then, it's only one potential tie.

As I expected, Lucifer's brief cancellation made it all the rage during the nomination period, and the show takes the top two seed positions. "A Devil of My Word" topped the chart, receiving around 3,000 votes. It is very clearly the frontrunner to win the competition. "Quintessential Deckerstar" also had over one thousand nominations. Outlander's pair of episodes — "Of Lost Things" and "A. Malcolm" — come next with Shadowhunters' "Erchomai" just behind it. There were no surprise entries in this top eight although Timeless' most nominated episode, "Chinatown", being seeded only sixth sees it lower on that list than I would have expected. Supernatural's 13th season finale and Game of Thrones' seventh season finale round off the top eight. We have 48 shows being represented this year.
Anyway, enough of all that. Let's move on to the actual competition...
The rules are as follows:
1. Four episodes go head to head for 24 hours, going live and closing at 12pm ET each day. The episode that emerges as the winner of each poll will go through to the next round.
2. Vote for your favourite episode, and tell us what you voted for.
3. Tell others about the competition! Social media is your best friend in this competition if you want your favourite episode to win.
4. Be respectful. This is a competition, but be friendly. Let's not have any abuse directed at any person, fandom or show, as we've had on occasion in the past.
Surprisingly, Supernatural isn't the longest-running series in the competition this year — that would be NCIS, followed by Grey's Anatomy — but it is the show that kicks off the 2018 competition. "Let the Good Times Roll" is up against another season finale, from The Orville's debut season. We then see a battle of contrastingly styled comedies: The Good Place's second season finale, "Somewhere Else", takes on BoJack Horseman's "Time's Arrow". The now-cancelled Last Man on Earth has one entry this year, its series finale, "Cancun, Baby!", and must get past Arrow's "Fundamentals" to make the second round. And the final poll of the first day sees The Flash Enter Competitiontime with "Enter Flashtime", and it will hope it faces no "Wrath" from our fifth finale of the day, that of The Walking Dead.
Don’t forget to share the post; the more people vote, the more chance your episode has of winning!
Check back tomorrow for the next set of polls from round one!
