ARROW, "Fallout", October 12, 2017, Actors: Katie Cassidy, Paul Blackthorne, The Scene: Black Siren and Quentin meet in the alley
Samantha: I never thought there'd be a day where I'd be picking Arrow since I very much dislike the show, but when you have Katie Cassidy on screen, you have magic! And when you have two seasoned actors on screen, you have a storyline, that could've potentially been dull in other hands, actually gripping you. There have been many times over the years I have disliked both Quentin's attitude and treatment of Laurel, and this scene hasn't changed that but bringing Katie back as the Black Siren has furthered their relationship. Despite how evil she is, Quentin will always look at Black Siren as being his little girl. Completely understandable and he's always going to struggle with having to fight her. Black Siren knows this and uses it to her advantage. His pain as Black Siren taunted him over what happened on the island, assuring him she understood his decision & then saying she would've done the exact same thing in his position? Stone cold and brutal because she just didn't give a damn.
Marko: The chemistry between Katie and Paul was always spot-on. They executed this scene so well. Paul's pain being crushed by Katie's overconfidence played great of each other.

The Scene: Bow fights with Ruby
Marine: There is so much greatness in this episode about postpartum depression, but the moment Bow finally loses patience with Ruby was particularly great.
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE, "Kicks", October 10, 2017, Actors: Andy Samberg, Andre Braugher, Joe Lo Truglio, The Scene: Jake admits that he’s not ready to go back into the field
Justyna: Jake and Holt have one of my favorite dynamics on the show. It was so good to see more of their interactions this week, especially considering how significant this half-hour was for Jake's character development. Jake Peralta has always been a good detective but these last events made quite an impact on his actions at work, something that no one, including the Captain, could see coming. While Holt spent the entire episode worried about Jake rushing to get back to field work, in the end he's confident that his time in prison actually helped Jake become an even better detective, more careful, more prepared, ready for the unexpected. Yet it's Jake who chooses to give himself more time before he can truly get back to field work. I love how this comedy manages to show far more than just the jokes. While it's still lighthearted and absolutely hilarious, it has a way of breaking all the stereotypes and portray real emotions at the same time. The lessons and the references to the real world situations are always spot-on. And the characters prove to be some of the best written I've seen on TV. This great scene is just one more example of that. This episode felt sadder than usual, yet it was perfectly placed in the story and I enjoyed the meaning behind it. Luana: Eldon finds his patient dead. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Ryan Winter, this moment gave me the chills, I imagined he'd killed her, but the fact that he positioned her just like the picture was jaw dropping, this season is shaping up to be a hundred times better than the first. "Buckle up".

CRIMINAL MINDS, "Blue Angel", October 11, 2017, Actors: Solomon Shiv, Jamie Gray Hyder, The Scene: Gabriel reveals to Kimberly he's her father
Samantha: Probably a slightly unusual choice here, given this scene featured none of the main characters and was completely related to the case of the week, but it grabbed me. Case of the week storylines, they only have a certain amount of time in the episode to make you feel sympathetic towards the characters who you're never going to see again, either so we can sympathize with the reasoning for murdering, be sad when they die etc, and I just think acting wise this reveal was really well done. I honestly didn't expect someone like Rose Abdoo to pop up in a Criminal Minds episode, and she was well supported here by Solomon Shiv as Gabriel and Jamie Gray Hyder as Kimberly. Gabriel is obviously a very twisted person but his motives for killing were somewhat understandable, and Jamie brilliantly portrayed Kimberly's confusion turned horror as Gabriel revealed the truth to her.
GREY'S ANATOMY, "Ain't That a Kick in the Head?", October 12, 2017, Actors: Ellen Pompeo, Abigail Spencer, Bardia Seiri and more, The Scene: Meredith helps Nathan reunite Megan and Farouk
Saloni: Meredith helps Nathan reunite Megan and Farouk. I loved the small second when after that happens, she walks out of the room, looks up at the sky (aka Derek!!!) and just smiles. This season has been great with reminding us of some amazing characters and moments from the past and I'm very happy about it.
Marko: Faruk and Megan reunite. It was beautiful and heartbreaking but filled with joy. Abigail and Bardia did an exceptional job. Also Ellen had a great hair day.
HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER, "It's for the Greater Good", October 12, 2017, Actors: Viola Davis, Liza Weil, The Scene: Annalise confronts Bonnie in the parking lot
Dahne: Anytime there is an emotional scene with Viola Davis and Lisa Weil, you know it's going to be great. This was no exception. Annalise realizes that Bonnie had something to do with her case falling apart and she confronts her in the parking lot. Unlike normal, Bonnie gives as good as she gets this time until Nate breaks it up. I like this new, less tolerant Bonnie and watching Annalise have to pull things together without her most loyal assistant has been eye-opening as well.
LETHAL WEAPON, "Born to Run", October 10, 2017, Actors: Clayne Crawford, Hilarie Burton
The Scene: Riggs and Palmer talk on the phone
Luana: I really hope this is not the last time we see Palmer because she's clearly good for him, that's why it was so sad that she gave up on him so quickly, the flowers stitting there were heartbreaking, I hope he decides to fight for it.
ONCE UPON A TIME, "A Pirate's Life", October 13, 2017, Actors: Jennifer Morrison, Colin O'Donoghue, Andrew J. West, The Scene: Emma and Real Hook say goodbye to Henry
Marko: The episode had many issues but when it came down to bringing out all of the emotions everyone delivered.
OUTLANDER, "Freedom & Whisky", October 8, 2017, Actors: Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Sophie Skelton, The Scenes: Claire answers Brianna’s questions & Brianna and Claire say goodbye & Claire reunites with Jamie
Jennise: Claire answers Brianna’s questions after the memorial service. I picked this scene because so much happened. It was a scene about truths and a number of them were revealed. Claire told Brianna about her father’s mistress and that he planned to marry her. Brianna, even as a little girl, recognized the way Frank looked at both his mistress and Claire at one point as well. Claire ensured Brianna that her parents loved her for her own sake. But most importantly, Claire told Brianna that Roger had found Jamie. Brianna's first reaction was to assure her mother that she was fine; that she no longer needed her in the same way she had as a little girl. In my mind Brianna’s reaction revealed the truth in that statement. A little girl would have clung to her mother, not freed her to find her own happiness.
Kristie: Brianna and Claire say goodbye. Claire knows she may never see her only child again, so she savours every moment, telling Brianna everything she's always wanted to say. She's emotional, questioning if she's doing the right thing, but Brianna reassures her she is. In this moment, Brianna is the stronger of the two.. a kind of role reversal. Also picked by Darth Locke
Milo: Claire Reunites with Jamie. A brilliant ending to a fantastic episode, sending Claire back in time to Jamie was an excellent way to finish things off after keeping them separated for what seemed like an age.
Marine: The reunion. Such a great scene!
SPEECHLESS, "J-J's D-r-Dream", October 11, 2017, Actors: Mason Cook, Micah Fowler and more, The Scene: Ray decides to set up JJ's Dream for real
Samantha: This episode was amazing, so choosing just one scene was extremely difficult but I had to go with this. The whole family's relationship in general is pretty great, but with JJ & Ray, we usually tend to see the side of Ray being the smart younger brother who JJ enjoys teasing. This week we still got that but Ray pushed JJ too far in an attempt to look good in front of his girlfriend, and as a result JJ forced Ray into creating a fake charity & event. After Ray's desperate pleas for help the family pulled their resources to give Ray his win & in that process Ray learnt a valuable lesson and decided to set up the charity for real so he could do good for people in need. I hope this is a plotline the show explores further in the future, because it is an issue disabled people deal with in everyday life. As much as society has come a long way in making things accessible, a lot of things still aren't, and for disabled kids it can be even worse.
STAR TREK: DISCOVERY, "The Butcher's Knife Cares Not for the Lamb's Cry", October 8, 2017, Actors: Sonequa Martin-Green and more, The Scenes: The Discovery saves Corvan II & Michael discovers how Ripper works
Milo: The Discovery saves Corvan II. This was a fantastic way to end the episode after all the hard work that had been happening on the ship to build up to it, and the rewarding way in which Discovery was able to save the group of people who we saw at the last possible moment before their destruction utilising the brand-new technology was a great way to show that yes, this show can be hopeful after all.

SUPERGIRL, "Girl of Steel", October 9, 2017, Actors: Melissa Benoist, Chyler Leigh, The Scenes: Kara tells Alex that Kara Danvers was a mistake & Alex asks J'onn to walk her down the aisle
DJRiter: Kara tells Alex that Kara Danvers was a mistake. This was one of my two favorite scenes from the outstanding Supergirl Season 3 premiere and both of them made me tear up, but for different reasons. Someone has already mentioned the one between Alex and J'onn, during which I cried tears of happiness. This scene, brought tears to my eyes, as Alex tried desperately to reach her sister who's in such pain after losing her love that she's cut off all her emotions. Being human means she hurts and Kara doesn't want to hurt anymore, doesn't want to be Kara anymore so she doesn't lose someone else she loves. When Supergirl has a heavyweight scene they wisely entrust them to Chyler Leigh and Melissa Benoist. Watching these two work together is sheer joy, they are two of the best actresses not only on Supergirl but I'll venture to say on TV today, and their scenes together are magic! If this is an example of what Andrew Kreisberg meant in an interview of there being more Danvers Sisters scenes this season, then this season is going to be amazing.
Klutzy girl: Alex asks J'onn to walk her down the aisle. The show's been disappointing for me for a while but this was a bright spot in the premiere and my favorite moment. Alex, Kara and J'onn's relationship is one of my favorite aspects of the series, and he is their father in every way that matters. It was a sweet, amazing scene that made me emotional.
Jennise: "Kara Danvers was a mistake." Kara hurts so badly she doesn’t want to be herself anymore. Great writing. Great performances.

The Scene: Dean prays to Chuck
Klutzy girl: Dean prays to Chuck to bring his family back. Jensen Ackles delivered an amazing performance as he showcased Dean's clear grief and anger once that didn't work, and he started punching the wall.

The Scene: Lorna uses her powers in prison
Milo: This episode was a great one but the standout scene for me was Lorna refusing to bow down inside the prison to the mutant-hating top dog, using her powers to fight off the inmates even with the dampener in place, at great cost to her own personal self.
Darth Locke: Polaris is beaten in the prison yard.
THE GOOD PLACE, "Existential Crisis", October 12, 2017, Actors: Kristen Bell, Ted Danson, The Scene: Eleanor gets through to Michael
Justyna: Back in season one, every time we've seen a glimpse of Eleanor's life on Earth, there was hardly anything about her that would make you root for the character. Which is what made this episode a much needed change. We're finally learning about the other side of Eleanor, the one she never really focused on, yet exactly the part she needs in order to truly become a better person. In this brilliant half-hour we got to see both Eleanor and Michael going through the worst of times and the fact that it's Eleanor that ends up being the one to get through to Michael was beautifully done. In the flashbacks we see the days when our main character was confronted with the reality of death and her coming to her father's funeral and later falling apart in the store spoke volumes about her life. Both Kristen Bell and Ted Danson are excellent in this episode, with their characters going though the variety of conflicting emotions and facing mortality. In the end, Eleanor opens up a little and admits that the constant sadness is just part of life, and every human decides how big this part is every day. It's honest, emotional and still ended up funny in a few moments. Great work by cast & crew. Kudos!

Klutzy girl: When Sue's upset about Sean saving her from the professor refusing to leave the apartment because she could have saved herself (but she liked it), he tells her that they save each other. THIS IS US, "Déjà Vu", October 10, 2017, Actors: Justin Hartley, Chrissy Metz, Sterling K. Brown and more, The Scenes: Kevin remembers Jack on the set & Randall and Beth have a heart-to-heart with Deja & Kevin's phone call to Kate
Justyna: This hour was filled with beautiful moments. Whether it was focused on Deja's introduction, young Randall's search for his biological parents, Jack and Rebecca growing back together or Sylvester Stallone's impact on Kevin and Kate, it was all wonderfully done. Just another example why this show resonates with so many people. While there's a number of scenes I'd love to highlight in the article ("This house is crazy"), the one that got me the most is the montage with Kevin's memories of his dad. Him running to save his character's father figure on the movie set with the perfectly placed music in the background, while seeing all the little things he remembers about Jack - it was beautifully sad. Justin Hartley did such a wonderful job in this episode and this scene was no exception. Also, a big shout-out to the editing team for this moment! I would love to see a bit more focus on Kevin's relationships with his parents, as I feel like we've only started with this part of the story, and this was exactly what I needed to see in this moment. Kudos!
Kristie: Randall and Beth have a heart-to-heart with Deja, their new pre-teen foster child. He spends several minutes, opening up about the challenges of his childhood and why he wants to help kids like Deja. She's receptive, until Randall explains that Deja's mom may be in jail for a while. When she broke the picture frame and stomped out, I was actually happy and slightly relieved. That reaction was real. Until then, I had been afraid the writers were going to make it an unrealistically seamless transition for her.
Saloni: Kevin's phone call to Kate when he apologizes for calling her damaged but also tries to talk about his dad's death but isn't able to. It's too tough. Justin Hartley was just so spot-on.

The Scene: Gretchen is a shapeshifter
Luana: I loved how this show turned everything on its head with just one conversation, the fact that it all makes sense from the beginning and it doesn't look like a simple stunt is magnificent, heartbreaking but magnificent. I honestly hope this is rock bottom, I can't wait for her to open up to Jimmy.

In the flashbacks we see the days when our main character was confronted with the reality of death and her coming to her father's funeral and later falling apart in the store spoke volumes about her life. Both Kristen Bell and Ted Danson are excellent in this episode, with their characters going though the variety of conflicting emotions and facing mortality. In the end, Eleanor opens up a little and admits that the constant sadness is just part of life, and every human decides how big this part is every day. It's honest, emotional and still ended up funny in a few moments. Great work by cast & crew. Kudos!

The Scene: Sean tells Sue that they save each other
Klutzy girl: When Sue's upset about Sean saving her from the professor refusing to leave the apartment because she could have saved herself (but she liked it), he tells her that they save each other. I love their relationship so much and am excited where they end up when the show ends in the spring. Also picked by Saloni
Justyna: This hour was filled with beautiful moments. Whether it was focused on Deja's introduction, young Randall's search for his biological parents, Jack and Rebecca growing back together or Sylvester Stallone's impact on Kevin and Kate, it was all wonderfully done. Just another example why this show resonates with so many people. While there's a number of scenes I'd love to highlight in the article ("This house is crazy"), the one that got me the most is the montage with Kevin's memories of his dad. Him running to save his character's father figure on the movie set with the perfectly placed music in the background, while seeing all the little things he remembers about Jack - it was beautifully sad. Justin Hartley did such a wonderful job in this episode and this scene was no exception. Also, a big shout-out to the editing team for this moment! I would love to see a bit more focus on Kevin's relationships with his parents, as I feel like we've only started with this part of the story, and this was exactly what I needed to see in this moment. Kudos!
Kristie: Randall and Beth have a heart-to-heart with Deja, their new pre-teen foster child. He spends several minutes, opening up about the challenges of his childhood and why he wants to help kids like Deja. She's receptive, until Randall explains that Deja's mom may be in jail for a while. When she broke the picture frame and stomped out, I was actually happy and slightly relieved. That reaction was real. Until then, I had been afraid the writers were going to make it an unrealistically seamless transition for her.
Saloni: Kevin's phone call to Kate when he apologizes for calling her damaged but also tries to talk about his dad's death but isn't able to. It's too tough. Justin Hartley was just so spot-on.

Luana: I loved how this show turned everything on its head with just one conversation, the fact that it all makes sense from the beginning and it doesn't look like a simple stunt is magnificent, heartbreaking but magnificent. I honestly hope this is rock bottom, I can't wait for her to open up to Jimmy.
