Hey all,
A pair of sci-fi dramas go head-to-head in today's opening poll. Agents of SHIELD is just a step away from its second quarter-final spot; today keeps up its streak of third round appearances in all four of its attempts. That's a decent record, albeit one that could be improved by making a real claim for competition victory. Fringe is in its way here. A narrow win over The Librarians last week was pretty impressive, given the TNT series' performance last year. My money would probably be on it here, but it's difficult to say for sure.
That Shadowhunters is doing this well should come as a surprise to no one; in the past year it has grown and grown on the site. Taking out Orphan Black in the first round was a good start and a way to indicate to those who might have underestimated it that they should not. Today is a sublime test. LOST, 13 years old next week, is already doing better this year than it has done since 2014. The show came third in the first year of the competition but has only been to the quarter-finals once since. This year's final will end on the 22nd September, the exact anniversary of the series premiere. But there's a long road still ahead before that might happen, and Shadowhunters will not be an easy bump to get over.
A reminder of the rules:
1) Two shows will go into battle in a poll, where after exactly 24 hours, the leading show will win the battle and will progress into the next round. Each poll will open at 12pm ET on a given day.
2) Vote for your favourite and spread the word with your friends & fans.
3) One vote per person per poll.
4) Comment on what you voted for on in the comments below.
5) Have fun. This is a friendly & competitive competition. Please do not start attacking other fans or fangroups in the comments, because this really isn't what this competition is about.

Don't forget to Facebook, Tweet, and share the poll with your friends! The more people that you get to vote, the better chance your favourites will win!
There won't be any polls tomorrow to allow these results to filter through before I set up the quarter-finals, but check back on Saturday for the last eight!
