SARAH PAULSON TO STAR AS DONALD TRUMP IN SEASON 7 OF "AMERICAN HORROR STORY"
LOS ANGELES - March 31, 2017 - FX announced today that series favorite Sarah Paulson has officially joined the season seven cast of anthology horror television series American Horror Story. The 12-episode, hour-long horror drama, which airs on FX in the U.S., will reimagine the 2016 United States Presidential Election as a war between vampires and werewolves. Paulson will play then candidate, now President, Donald Trump, an impotent vampire whose orange skin, small hands, and ugly hair allows him to hide among werewolves.
Award-winning, writer-director Ryan Murphy said that even though he had previously avoided such controversial casting, he decided it was time to tell the true story behind one of the biggest political upsets in American history. The series, slated to return this fall, is currently in production shooting in Los Angeles, California.
"We are thrilled to have Sarah returning to what we truly think will be our worst season yet," said Brad Falchuk, Executive Producer. "To be able to tell the story of what actually happened over the course of the last two years is truly a remarkable and special opportunity for us all."
Additionally, FX has approached Willem Dafoe to star in the series as 2016 Democratic Presidential nominee and former First Lady Hillary Clinton. Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things) is also in early talks to recur as failed Democratic Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. Previously announced cast also includes Macaulay Culkin as a young Vladimir Putin (appearing via flashbacks). Season 7 of American Horror Story is a production of Golden Showers of Missing Emails Entertainment.
