This week’s episode of COLONY opens to footage of a group of men listening to tapes recorded from a visit to the moon. The men think the aliens were sending them some kind of message. Not only can they hear the aliens and they have footage of them too. Creepy!
Meanwhile, Katie is wearing a hat and trying to nonchalantly ride her bike to go see her son. The drone sees her. She is denied, even though she says that she has papers. She bribes the man with a bottle of liquor. She receives terrifying news that he has been transferred. She gets back on her bike and heads to go see Maddie. Security is high. Katie is sexually assaulted while receiving a security “pat down.”
She makes it to her sister’s house. She tells her that they transferred Bram. Maddie says that she’ll talk to Nolan. She says, “I will get him out. I promise you.”
Gracie is in a tutoring session. She doesn’t want to leave with Katie. Katie makes the tutor promise that they’ll have Gracie home before dark.
We cut over to Will receiving medical care from Devin. Will asks her if she will help him find Charlie. He tells her that Charlie works for Solomon. Devin know this is bad news, but agrees to help him anyways.
Katie is in line to get food, but they run out. She and others are turned away. She heads back to her house, where she has nothing.
Little does she know; her entire house is under surveillance and Jennifer is watching her. Did this start before or after Will admitted that she was the leak?
Jennifer is brought in to her new boss, Dan Bennett’s, office. He wants to know about Beau and Will. She tells her boss that Proxy Snyder gave Will a pass to go outside the wall and that Beau hasn’t been seen. He wants to know what happened to Beau. She says that she doesn’t have a theory.
Her boss says that he’s been sent there to clean things up. His job is to catch Broussard and his fellow terrorists. He said that they also have to, “recover an object that was taken from our post.” He doesn’t trust Jennifer. He questions her loyalty. He tells her that he’ll give her the chance to show her worth and if she fails, she’ll be reassigned. He finishes their conversation by saying, “You should know, I’m not a patient man.” Yikes!
Back at Maddie and Nolan’s house, they fight over Bram. Maddie wants to know where Bram is and she wants him back home with her sister. Nola warns her not to blow it. He doesn’t want to use their favors for her family.
Devin and Will are outside the wall. They are going to find a woman that Solomon wants, but can’t get his hands on. Uh oh. Devin asks for Will’s gun, she says that they might mistake him for a bounty hunter if they search him and find a gun. His task is to find the woman and bring her to Devin, then they’ll bring her to Solomon, alive. This will get him an audience with Solomon.
Will heads up to the apartment. There’s a man in there and he wants to fight. Poor, Will. He subdues the guy and Devin comes in to help take down the woman. They grab her and head out.
They bring the woman to a makeshift prison. You can tell that he feels conflicted about what he just did as he watches the guards put her in a cage with other people. The guards give Devin a poker chip as payment and she and Will quickly head off.
Jennifer heads home to see her house swarmed. Red hats are searching her house. She screams, “I work for Homeland!” They don’t find anything and leave. As she’s cleaning up the mess, she sees a broken picture frame with an image of her, a man, and a sweet dog. Aw, there must be a backstory there. Wonder when we’ll learn more about her life before the arrival?
Bram and a group of people are on a bus. One of the guys think that they are going to the factory. Instead, they remove their cuffs and line them up against a brick wall. The guard starts asks people what they did for a job. When his buddy says that he was a high school teacher, the guard beats him and has his body hauled away. When they ask Bram how old he is, he lies and says that he’s twenty. He tells the man that he was in construction, demo and laying concrete. Good thinking on your feet, Bram!
He is taken to an underground bunk where he is to change. He soon finds out that he has been assigned to a labor camp. The guard says that, “We are responsible for making sure that supplies reach their intended destination.” Any rule breaking will result in swift punishment and if anyone breaks the rules twice, they are automatically sent to The Factory.
Devin and Will go to visit Solomon. She uses the poker chip she was given for turning in the woman. They have to put their weapons in a box. The man says, “You look familiar.” Will is all, “Yeah, you stabbed me.” The guy laughs. I bet Will wants to break his face right now!
Devin is tight with Solomon. She tells Solomon that Will wants to trade for his son. He offers him his transport pass as a trade for Charlie. Solomon is playing hard to get. Solomon asks him, “Where have you been for the last year?” He continues, “Your son would have died on the streets if it wasn’t for me.” He makes Will grovel a bit. Solomon gives Will the address where he can find Charlie.
DANG! Will finds Charlie as he’s robbing some poor woman. Solomon is standing in the background watching the whole thing go down and walks away once Charlie and Will hug.
Maddie calls Katie. She tells her that Nolan got Bram transferred from going to the factory to a labor camp just outside the wall. Katie is freaking out. She says, “I gotta get him back!” Maddie says that Nolan is doing everything that he can for Bram, but that it could take a while and to be patient. Uh oh!
Gracie asks her mom about Bram. Katie tells her daughter that they might not see Bram for a while because he is working outside of the walls. Gracie asks if Bram is preparing for “The Greatest Day.” Katie wants to know why Gracie is so interested in “The Greatest Day.” Gracie tells her that working toward “The Greatest Day,” makes you a good person. Katie is pissed, she tells Gracie that you don’t have to be preparing for “The Greatest Day,” to be good.
Will is with Charlie in his makeshift home. Charlie is dirty and his hair is long. Looks like a bad wig. Devin tells Will, “Kids are resilient, you just have to give him time.”
Back at Devin’s place, Devin tells Will that the woman they turned over is being sent to the factory. She didn’t tell Will that ahead of time so he wouldn’t be conflicted about turning her in. Ouch!
The next morning, Will wakes up to Charlie trying to run away. Devin catches him and brings him back to Will. Couldn’t say I didn’t see that one coming.
Charlie tells Will that he tried to run away, “…but Solomon put me on a chain and I learned.” Charlie is worried that Solomon will hurt his friends if he doesn’t go back. Will is pissed! He runs out of Devin’s house full of rage. Devin chases him and asks, “What’s going to happen to Charlie if you get yourself killed?” Will has no intention of dying. He runs to find Solomon.
Katie visits Nolan. She asks if there is anything else Nolan can do for Bram. He tells her that he made a lot of calls. He says that if, “Bram pays for himself, he’ll be transferred back, eventually.” Katie accuses Nolan of not doing more. Nolan reminds her that Bram is the one who got himself into this situation. Nolan brushes her off. Katie is upset.
Over at the labor camp, Bram sees a spacecraft shoot into the sky, the sound is deafening. A late teens/twenty-something cute girl helps him to his feet after one of the guards hits him and tells him to, “keep moving!”
As they are eating dinner, a bald tough looking man approaches Bram. Before he can say anything, the cute girl invites him to come eat with her friends. She tells them that he got caught sneaking under the wall. Before he can tell them about it, Snyder shows up. Someone tried to steal a screwdriver. Snyder asks, “You’re willing to go to the factory for a screw driver?” Snyder and Bram make eye contact.
Back at Katie’s house, there’s a knock on the door. Maddie comes in and asks her sister, “How dare you?” Maddie accuses her of going behind her back. Katie tells her that she’s desperate and that she wasn’t sure that Maddie had done everything she could do to help Bram. She and Maddie fight. Maddie screams, “This is why you’re alone!” and then leaves. Yikes!
Maddie gets sworn in. She is now part of The Greatest Day crew. Nolan is incredibly proud. Maddie is left with the magical cube, which allegedly gives her a vision on the future.
Jennifer visits Katie at her bar. She says, “You need to work for me.” She accuses Katie and says that she has evidence. She said, “Will basically admitted it before he went through the wall.” Jennifer wants Broussard. Katie says that she doesn’t have any contact with him. She says if she tries to reach him, that he’ll know that she’s, “been compromised.” Katie refuses to help Jennifer.
Meanwhile, Will goes to see Solomon. The guard outside of Solomon’s layer tells Will to get lost. Will doesn’t even hesitate before blowing him away. He shoots the next guy he sees as well. Dang, Will isn’t playing around today! Someone returns gunfire, but Will is too fast and he shoots him. Solomon comes at him swinging a tire iron. Will gets the tire iron and chokes him. He kills him and takes everything in Solomon’s pockets. There are children watching. The episode ends with Will telling them that he’s Charlie’s father. He tells them to come with him and that they will be safe.
My Thoughts:
Wow! What a great episode!
Will finding Charlie was a huge moment. Do you think that Charlie will come home with his father? What do you think about the other kids? Will they follow Will under the wall?
I’m not sure how I feel about Katie. What are your thoughts on her behavior?
