  1. Wow subtle title.

    ReplyDelete
  2. The new Avenger??? Hmmm not really caught up by it. It has something to it but I think a little pretentious. But lets see, they need an amazing casting here.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I kinda like it. Better than nothing and not too strange. A bit easy, but it works for me :)

    ReplyDelete
  4. Why can't they drop this franchise altogether?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Because Spider-Man is the biggest Marvel character, huge to the Civil War storyline and is pretty cool.

    ReplyDelete
  6. But how many times can we see a young version of Peter?I'm so tired of seeing his origin SL-Have u seen the shortlist? All of them look like children!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Well they technically should if you're going for a teen Peter.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Exactly. What i'm saying is that what is the problem with making the movie with the adult version? Why reboot the franchise again and again? If there nothing worth showing?(I don't know this answer since i'm not a comic book fan).

    ReplyDelete
  9. It is not a complete reboot. They already said they won't do a film about his origin.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Looking at the shortlist who all look like 12,i'm not sure how that's even remotely possible.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Well, he could have his powers since a few years and already met some enemies like octopus or the Green Goblin

    ReplyDelete
  12. That would be a better idea.

    ReplyDelete
  13. There is. But they want a young kid.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I'm bit annoyed about this new movie franchise as well, even more after the shortlist I really hope that is wrong. They probably want to grow him out and over do him over the curse of 10 years, so they are fishing for younger.
Really don't know what to expect here.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I quite like the title, it tells the general audiences that Spidey is part of the MCU now.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Can they please give us an older SpiderMan because I'm tired of the teenage one...

    ReplyDelete
  17. Unless they find a very good Peter Parker material, I'm not interested. And why does he have to be a teenager? It sucks.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Historical_Materialist28 April 2015 at 12:39

I guess "Spider-man: The Twelfth Avenger" or "The Avenging Spider-man" didn't have the same cache.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Production reports? I don't think the movie is anywhere close to production...

Not that I don't trust the great people here at SpoilerTV, but the movie doesn't come out until mid-2017...

    ReplyDelete
  20. There are a couple of steps in production. They meant probably the preproduction, prepping the story, overall road they wanna go with this movie and possible follow ups etc etc.

    ReplyDelete
  21. And it isn't unprecedented since we have had "The First Avenger" subtitle.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I'm not a huge Spidey fan and I don't think he is as important as some people do BUT I do think he has one of the coolest rogues galleries. Having access to his villains in the MCU is going to be pretty awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ugh... does EVERYONE have to be an Avenger??

    ReplyDelete
  24. I was a huge Spidey fan and pretty excited about Spidey coming back to marvel but now we have him I'm absolutely pissed off!!
They have moved inhumans by almost a year
I'm kinda glad we don't have xmen and ff4 or we never would have got gotg, inhumans or black panther.

    ReplyDelete
  25. the title is only rumored by Latino Review, not confirmed at all.

    ReplyDelete
  26. kind of a predictable tittle :S

    ReplyDelete
  27. We got the title as we indicated from a Production report

    ReplyDelete
  28. It's the same place we got the Fear the Walking Dead spinoff title months before it was officially announced by anyone else :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. because everyone loves him?

    ReplyDelete
  30. they have people everywhere. They see all, they know all. carefull the poeple of Spoilertv is watching

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm not sure... I feel it's a bit "aggressive" giving it that title.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Ah, okay. Again, love you guys!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I like it. Setting the record straight that this is a reboot for people who don't know he's coming to Marvel and makes them want to watch it (or a must-see) even if it is the 3rd Spider-Man in just 10 years, cause now it's Marvel/Avengers.
PREDICTION: depending on the trailers, reviews and what other Avengers are in the film, I think it could be the #1 spidey movie (in domestic and worldwide Box Office), beating Spider-Man's (2002) 403mil domestic (and also doubling TASM2's 203mil), and beating Spider-Man 3's 890mil worldwide.

    ReplyDelete
  34. let's hope that's just a working title

    ReplyDelete
  35. Blame marvel for not letting sony put the amazing spiderman franchise into MCU it would saved lot money plus Andrew Garfield is untouched in he performance as Peter Parker/Spider-man.

    ReplyDelete
  36. The new Reboot will flop then Marvel will hire back Andrew Garfield make proper spider film The Amazing Spider-man 3 Rise of the Sinister of six like they originally planned and put trilogy into MCU.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Well all marvel heroes are avengers even x men and fantastic four too.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Shame marvel duped Andrew Garfield for some kid hope it flops sick seeing spiderman 1 third time

    ReplyDelete
  39. Doubt that. They will just stop shooting and make the new SM appear only in the Avenger movies.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Christopher DeBono28 April 2015 at 17:39

I believe that is meant to be the idea. He's meant to already have his powers but still be early in his career. So when the movie picks up, he's probably had his powers for maybe...6 months roughly? In that time he's probably met a couple of his villains already.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I don't think it's bad. I just think it's not even trying to pretend to be not subtle about Spider-Man's role in the MCU. I think it's an okay title.

    ReplyDelete
  42. He originally became Spiderman when he was 15 years old in the comics. It make sense that in any origin story, he would be a teen. That being said -- I am pretty sure he was late 20s when he joined the Avengers in the comics, so the title confuses me.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Asa Butterfield is a great actor but why did they have to go through the 'a dorky teen finds superpowers' routine all over again? why can't they just move on and have a spidey in his 20s kicking ass and being annoyed with the avengers creating havoc in his city?

    ReplyDelete
  44. I don't see those boys fit the role, but lets have faith in the Marvel people and their work.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I thought that's what they wee planning - leaving the Andrew Garfield stuff as having happened and having this one set him up for joining the Avengers.... we really don't need a third origin movie in the space of 15 years.

    ReplyDelete
  46. CharlieJSevilla2 May 2015 at 13:26

    gfhgfhff

    ReplyDelete
  47. Christopher DeBono2 May 2015 at 14:03

No this one is completely new and unrelated to the Andrew Garfield stuff. However they are apparently skipping his origin entirely. By the time we see him in the solo Spider-Man movie he is already meant to have his powers and be early in his career. It's unknown if he'll have his powers in Civil War already.

    ReplyDelete
  48. They are going to cast Asa Butterfield, aren't they? He looks like he is 14.

    ReplyDelete
  49. That will just confuse people, they'll wonder where Garfield's spidey went.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Wow both English actors although I don't know how a 15 year old spiderman will work and I hate how they have pushed movies I've been waiting for but I'll keep my fingers crossed.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Tom Hiolland looks like the part. But alot buzz is coming for Asa Butterfield tho i woul've love they made an older spiderman that already knows his bussiness

    ReplyDelete
  52. They will do anything for the movie not to flop tho i doubt it will

    ReplyDelete
  53. I don't know, he looks 18 to me.

    ReplyDelete
  54. They look closer to 18 to me.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Bertha Strongham3 May 2015 at 17:00

Not at all. Garfield was HORRIBLE!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Bertha Strongham3 May 2015 at 17:03

Omg....they need to go back to the drawing board with regards to the selection of actors for the role. Neither will do. Esp if they are not going to do an origins story. THEY ARE TOOOO YOUNG!
    UGH.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Strongly disagree. He finally did Peter Parker the way he was supposed to be portrayed (minus the skateboarding; blame that on the writers).

    ReplyDelete
  58. Bertha Strongham7 May 2015 at 23:55

It was his face, and crazy acting mannerisms that did it for me.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Re Asa Butterfield's Casting: I've liked him in the 3 things I have seen him so I'm game.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Lets seee how he does. He is a great actor.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Marvel always get the right actors for the roles, they know what they're doing.

    ReplyDelete
  62. juni valentine15 May 2015 at 19:21

I like him as that creepy young Mordred. Can't wait to see him as Peter Parker. Is he gonna be in Civil War?

    ReplyDelete
  63. I would so prefer to have a Spider-Man tvseries than Another Movie, he could still appear in team-up Movies and such..but he would work way better in a show!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Aneta Maćkowiak31 May 2015 at 13:12

Charlie Rowe would be great,he was fantastic in Red Band :)

    ReplyDelete
  65. Oh so it's still not a done deal for Asa Butterfield then? The last update made it sound like he was pretty much it...

    ReplyDelete
  66. A 15-year-old Peter worked for Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, although they had him graduating from high school in "real time" (i.e. less than three years).

    ReplyDelete
  67. I could get on board with Charlie Rowe... too bad he's not one of the frontrunners....

Not too happy with who they're eyeing to direct though.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Wow Sweets might direct!
    Go Asa!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Christopher DeBono13 June 2015 at 07:04

Come on Marvel/Sony, you have a perfect Peter Parker right here:

    ReplyDelete
  70. If Sony isn't deferring to Marvel on everything at this point there is no hope for them.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I think you should update to the most recent news. Devin Faraci and Variety reporter Justin Kroll (both of which have a more reliable track record) than Sneider are stating that the final candidates are Tom Holland and Charlie Rowe.

    Read here: http://birthmoviesdeath.com/2015/06/12/these-are-the-spider-man-finalists

Thanks for the heads up. It's in the system for the next time DarkUFO updates the post (should be within the next 24 hours).

    ReplyDelete
  73. Why not The Superior Spiderman? or something like that

    ReplyDelete
  74. I could totally see Charlie Rowe...

    ReplyDelete
  75. I'd be on board with that, but he is too old for what they seem to have in mind right now.

    ReplyDelete
  76. The casting of this is turning into a bit of a nightmare...

    ReplyDelete
  77. At last Spidey is announced!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Not bad,looks the part.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Yh I think I'm gonna pass on this one.

    ReplyDelete
  80. No clue what to think about Tom. Never saw him act. I haven't even overlooked him in a movie.
An actor with a clean slate is a good idea but he really has to nail the role. We'll see I hope his CA appearence will be effective enough to give us a first glimpse at what the movie will look like.

    ReplyDelete
  81. He was my second choice. he will do good. But i still think they should've gone with an older spiderman

    ReplyDelete
  82. I already don't like Spider-Man and this does not help. This is as bad as Ben Affleck playing Batman.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Man, I liked Asa Butterfield choice so much better

    ReplyDelete
  84. I'm rooting for Tom. He's not well known yet (I haven't seen him act) but if Marvel's choosing him, he can't possibly be horrible.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Alright kid, let's see whatcha got. Make us proud.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Re Tom Holland: Haven't seen him in anything I don't think so I'm gonna go with "Meh..."

    ReplyDelete
  87. New Villain? 0.o Wow! Stunned.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I'm good with a brand new villain... Oh! Maybe Carnage!? Too dark? Is there a rights issue with him?

    ReplyDelete
  89. Marisa Tomei could be a reason for watching this movie.

    ReplyDelete
  90. but she's only 50.

Damnit, the Spidey cast is always getting younger -,-

    ReplyDelete
  91. First of she is 50!?!?!!? Had no clue she was that old.
Second of with Spidey look like her stopped wearing diapers yesterday not really surprised they are going for younger.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Marisa Tomei as Aunt May? That's crazy because Aunt May isn't supposed to have superpowers and looking that good at 50 years old is most certainly a superpower.

    ReplyDelete
  93. WHAT?? Marisa Tome I cast as Aunt May??? That doesn't make a lick of sense. Do what you will with Peter but please let's not make way more hotter/younger than she's supposed to be.

    ReplyDelete
  94. All of this sounds great. But when are they casting Kiernan Shipka as (Ultimate)-Gwen?

    ReplyDelete
  95. Hating it. The New Avenger sounded better.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Spectacular Spider-Man I like it

    ReplyDelete
  97. Next time: "Gorgeous Spider-Man"...

    ReplyDelete
  98. The new title is awful. Makes it sound like a show on Cartoon Network.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Spectacular Spectacular Spider-Man Man I miss that Show.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Ugh! They should've went with Ultimate Spider-Man!!

    ReplyDelete
  101. The Spectacular Spider-man are issues from him Comic Book series, you know that right? I still say they should've went with Ultimate.

    ReplyDelete
  102. That was a great show, the animated series' nowadays suck IMO. Young Justice and Legend of Korra were the last good ones.

    ReplyDelete
  103. I actually liked the "Spectacular" until you mentioned this! Yeah "Ultimate" would have been good.
Still, the title reminds me of the great animated series of the same name.

    ReplyDelete
  104. No. Reminds me of that show. And Spectacular Spider-Man sounds more fun and like the awesomeness that was The Spectacular Spider-Man.

    ReplyDelete
  105. It's a an actual comic book title. And also a really good animated series.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Meh. But he's not. He's what 16 years-old in this? Plus reminds me of that awful show The Ultimate Spider-Man and the terribleness that is Drake Bell as Peter Parker.

    ReplyDelete
  107. How? The kid's excellent and Affleck himself has come a long way as an actor, and has given some great performances as of late.

    ReplyDelete
  108. No he isn't. But it's still the title from the series. It's not like they're pulling names out of a hat. That's my point. I'd still prefer Ultimate or Spectacular. Spectacular is so blah.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Again we differ on our likeness for the titles. Lol

    ReplyDelete
  110. And Ultimate is basically bragging and weird. He doesn't sound awe inspiring or cool.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Lol true. Ultimate feels ilke a title you need to work up towards. Like one for a second movie or third.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I THINK it sounds cool and more heroic.

    ReplyDelete
  113. It's just personal preference. I like Ben Affleck as a person and can watch him do live interviews, fundraisers, talk shows etc...but I do not like him as an actor. The only two roles I have been able to get through an entire movie with him were Good Will Hunting and Armageddon.
As for Holland, I've never seen him act so I can't judge but from his roles, going by reviews on his performance in Wolf Hall, he must be a fantastic actor. He just looks 12 to me, not 19 and he is small. That is not a bash against him, just not what I see when I think of Spiderman.
As for Spiderman himself, he has always been my least favorite comic character. I haven't seen any of the last few movies and doubt I'll see this one. I don't have plans to see Batman Vs Superman either but I do plan to see Suicide Squad.
SN- Ryan Reynolds is another one that I don't like so I doubt I'll go see Deadpool.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Don't make'em like that anymore. Really fun show.

    ReplyDelete
  115. He was fantastic in Argo, Gone Girl and The Town and he seems to be quite committed to the role so I gotta give him some serious benefit. It's actually Batman V. Superman (fittingly the whole V means and, because it's also a team up movie). Reynolds will be terrific as Deadpool of that I have no doubt.

    ReplyDelete
  116. I can't agree on heroic (since it basically means best) and doesn't really imply any inherently higher standard of good. At least he's not the Superior Spider-Man though.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Hope the Kraven rumors are false. I'd rather see Carnage or Mysterio. They'd be more visually interesting than Kraven.

    ReplyDelete
  118. That's where the preference comes in. I heard such great things about Gone Girl but I couldn't even get through the movie watching him. I skipped to the end to watch the last half hour everyone was talking about. I'm sure he'll do great for BvS and the movie will do great at the box office. Also agree on Deadpool. I'm sure Reynolds and the movie will do great and I hope they do. I love when my comics do well on TV and the Box Office even when they're not favorites. I root for them. These few are just not for me.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Boy! can i eat??? Lemme lone!!! = p

    ReplyDelete
  120. I like it. It's manly. lol

    ReplyDelete
  121. That's understandable. And Suicide Squad does look pretty cool.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Wait so lol what if I combined amazing, ultimate and spectacular into one title. The Amazingly Spectacular Ultimate Spider-Man. Even more manly?

    ReplyDelete
  123. So gay. Lmaoooo, I would squirmmmmmm at that. Lol hahahaha

    ReplyDelete
  124. Hey, did you get your free slushy as 7/11??? Today's free slushy day!!! I just got mine. (Cherry and Pina colada) They're' also doing hot dogs for $1.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Christopher DeBono12 July 2015 at 03:46

Eh, in the ultimate comics, Aunt May is only in her very late 40's at the start. It actually ended up being one of the better versions of Aunt May.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Peter was bitten at 15 yrs old. Ben was 65 at that time. May is close to if not exact to Ben's age, she should be NO less than 60, in this movie.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Christopher DeBono12 July 2015 at 04:30

That's only in the 616 universe.
They purposely made Aunt May younger in the 1610 universe (Ultimate) so she could be the 'cool' aunt. It also allowed Aunt May to get more involved in stuff (because she was younger she could actually go out and do things, rather then always looking like she could die at any second).

In the ultimate universe, aunt May was a teenager in the 1960's. The 'present day story' takes place in the early 2000's. Putting her at late 40's (at most, very early 50's).

    ReplyDelete
  128. But they're not doing the ultimate universe, are they? No. they're doing Spectacular, so she'd be slightly younger, but she'd still be old. Either way, i STILL don't like it. And i'm extremely turned off by this casting in particular.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Christopher DeBono12 July 2015 at 12:57

Much of the MCU has been based on the Ultimate universe despite the names used. The same thing is being done here. Spider-Man is being based on the Ultimate Universe version (Peter is younger at 15 instead of 17 like in the regular universe, Aunt May is in her late 40's rather then 60's, ect).

Even other characters have had aspects pulled heavily from the Ultimate universe.
    - Pretty much everything to do with the MCU Hawkeye and Nick Fury is from Ultimate (costume, family, ties to SHIELD, ect)
    - The Chitauri and Loki are what brings the Avengers/Ultimates together

    ReplyDelete
  130. Lance Sweets from Bones might write the movie?! AWESOME!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  131. Those potential writers have written a lot of terrible comedies, hmm doesn't fill me with confidence.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Aww JFD. I'd support him in all things. My favorite psych.
