A HOLIDAY REUNION — When Rebekah (Claire Holt) notices an unusual change in Elijah’s (Daniel Gillies) behavior, she asks Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) to meet her at their safe house, reuniting them with baby Hope. After reliving memories of being the odd man out, Kaleb (guest star Daniel Sharman) opens up to Davina (Danielle Campbell) about his resentment towards his siblings and sheds some light on a spell he created in 1914. Meanwhile, when Cami (Leah Pipes) discovers Esther’s (guest star Sonia Sohn) plan will put her life in danger, she demands answers from Vincent (guest star Yusuf Gatewood), who remains steadfast in his convictions. Elsewhere, Esther makes an unlikely alliance that could prove dangerous for Klaus, and Hayley makes a decision that could change her relationship with Elijah forever. Lastly, while Elijah continues to struggle with the lingering effects of being captured, Rebekah and Klaus devise a plan to take their mother down once and for all. BARRY COMES FACE-TO-FACE WITH THE MAN IN THE YELLOW SUIT/AMANDA PAYS RETURNS TO THE FLASH — Barry (Grant Gustin) finds himself face-to-face with his nemesis, the man in the yellow suit, a.k.a. Reverse Flash, who killed his mother. Barry is frustrated when the Reverse Flash escapes, but Dr. Wells (Tom Cavanagh) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) come up with a plan to trap him. All they need is bait, so they turn to Dr. Tina McGee (guest star Amanda Pays) from Mercury Labs to help. Meanwhile, it’s Christmas at The West household and Iris (Candice Patton) is in full holiday cheer. Eddie (Rick Cosnett) gives her a surprising gift but also leaves her with a question that could change her life. Joe (Jesse L. Martin) joins the search for the man in yellow and ends up in the crossfire. Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) finds Ronnie (Robbie Amell). THE THIRD WAY — Abby (Paige Turco) is determined to find a way to protect her people from a coming attack by the Grounders, even if it means heading into unknown territory and leaving some captives behind. A worried Bellamy (Bob Morley) convinces Clarke (Eliza Taylor) to go with him to the drop ship, where he and Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulos) reveal a dangerous secret. Clarke comes up with a bold new plan to stop the Grounders’ attack, leading Abby to a desperate decision. Meanwhile, at Mount Weather, Jasper (Devon Bostick) and Monty (Christopher Larkin) begin to question the motives of their new friends, while Dr. Tsing (guest star Rekha Sharma) conducts a deadly experiment to determine how to make use of the captives. ALL ALONE ON CHRISTMAS — With the holidays approaching, Bonnie (Kat Graham) attempts to replicate her favorite traditions, while reminiscing about happier times with her friends. Not able to return home to Mystic Falls for her favorite time of the year, Caroline (Candice Accola) is surprised when Sheriff Forbes (guest star Marguerite MacIntyre) brings the holidays to her at Whitmore College. Meanwhile, after discovering that Jo (guest star Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) has gone missing, Alaric (Matt Davis) turns to Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) for help, while Liv (guest star Penelope Mitchell) and Luke (guest star Chris Brochu) find themselves at odds when Tyler (Michael Trevino) approaches them with a risky plan. REBECCA ROMIJN, CHRISTIAN KANE, JOHN KIM AND JOHN LARROQUETTE STAR — Based on “The Librarian” series starring Noah Wylie, “The Librarians” centers on an ancient organization hidden beneath the Metropolitan Public Library dedicated to protecting an unknowing world from the secret, magical reality hidden all around. This group solves impossible mysteries, fights supernatural threats and recovers powerful artifacts from around the world. For the past 10 years, Flynn Carsen (Noah Wylie) has served as the Librarian, but the job has become more than one person can handle. To aid him in his duties, the Library has recruited four people from around the world, including Eve Baird (Rebecca Romijn), a highly skilled counter-terrorism agent who is responsible for protecting the group and keeping them all alive; Jake Stone (Christian Kane), an Oklahoma oil worker with an IQ of 190 and an encyclopedic knowledge of art history; Cassandra (Lindy Booth), a quirky young woman with the special gift of auditory and sensory hallucinations linked to memory retrieval, known as synesthesia; and Ezekiel Jones (John Kim), a master of new technologies and aficionado of old classic crimes who enjoys playing the role of international man of mystery. Overseeing the new team of Librarians is the somewhat cantankerous Jenkins (John Larroquette), an expert in ancient lore who has been working out of the Library’s branch office for longer than anyone knows. “The Librarians” was written and directed by Dean Devlin.
