Jon Cassar (The Kennedys, Terra Nova), director of 56 (out of 192) episodes of 24, tweeted that Touch, the new FOX sci-fi drama series starring Kiefer Sutherland, entered production today.
The pilot of this show, created by Tim Kring (Heroes) and starring Kiefer Sutherland (24), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Undercovers) and Danny Glover (Lethal Weapon), was shot in July 2011 by Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend). And now, episode 1.02 is in filming. A 13-episode first season was ordered by FOX.
Still no word on the timeslot this show will occupy this season. Will it be on Mondays at 9 (aka the former timeslot of 24) in case Alcatraz flops, or will it be on Fridays at 8 before Fringe (it'd certainly be more compatible than a cooking show) ?
No word on the premiere date either, other than a vague 'Spring 2012' (when you look at the trailer you'd think it would be nice if Touch started on March 18, but it's a Sunday). Plus, there's the same problem than NBC with Awake : if these two networks don't start their shows in January or February, how will they do to air all 13 episodes before late May ? If FOX wants to air all 13 episodes of Touch during the 2011/2012 season, the latest start possible is February 27 (if it's on Mondays) or March 2 (on Fridays), and there would be no interruption/no reruns until May 21 or May 25.
Anyway, for those who haven't seen it yet, here's the trailer for the pilot of Touch :
