Thanks to darq for the heads up.
Author and Great American Stoner Novelist Jonathan Franzen has confirmed he’s adapting his novel, ‘The Corrections’ into an HBO series. He told a packed session at the New Yorker Festival that the story of the complicated lives of the Midwestern, Lambert family would be a full four-year television series.
Where casting is concerned, Donald Sutherland and Anthony Hopkins are rumored to be up for roles. Though Franzens might prefer other actors saying: “If they told me Gene Hackman was going to do Alfred, I would be delighted. If they told me they had cast Cate Blanchett as [Alfred’s daughter] Denise, I would be jumping up and down, even though officially I really don’t care what they do with the movie.” Greenberg and The Squid and the Whale’s Noah Baumbach has been tapped to direct.
