Body of Proof - Moved to Midseason

ABC has big plans for "Body of Proof."
Skein, starring Dana Delany as a medical examiner who investigates suspicious deaths, was originally skedded to air at 9 p.m. Friday but the network believes it can find a better and more high-profile timeslot in midseason.

Alphabet plans on giving the ABC Studio skein a healthy marketing send-off prior to its launch to give it the best chance to succeed. Show could land in the 10 p.m. Wednesday slot if "The Whole Truth" continues to perform poorly and is eventually canceled. Also, net might be forced to rethink its 10 p.m. Tuesday lineup as well if "Detroit 1-8-7" doesn't perk up.

Filling the 9 p.m. Friday spot is "Primetime: What Would You Do?," from the network's news division, which has performed well enough to be put in the lineup on short notice. ABC is still offering comedy repeats in the 8 o'clock hour since the beginning of the season until "Secret Millionaire" debuts.

"Body of Proof" is exec produced by Christopher Murphey, Matthew Gross and Sunil Nayar.

If "The Whole Truth," is canceled, it would be the second ABC show to get the ax. "My Generation" was dropped by the net after only two episodes, but Thursday ratings are being salvaged by "Grey's Anatomy," which remains a consistent player in its seventh season.
