Day 25: And we have reached the Quarter Finals folks, 4 days and we will have our final four, a foursome to be chosen from The Office, The Wire, Smallville, The Vampire Diaries, Grey's Anatomy, LOST, Supernatural & The X-Files. Round 3 continued to shock as both Fringe and Glee, huge in Round 2 fell drastically out of the competition, LOST barely made an impression, and The Wire, Smallville, Supernatural and the X-Files grew with huge amounts of votes to throw their chances for a win into the park. It's gonna be close, it's gonna be tense. And some big shows are going home early. Today we have the soon to be Steve Carell-less The Office, potentially the biggest comedy of the past few years taking on a critical darling, a show that maybe made a bigger name for itself after it's initial run, The Wire. Don't presume any easy passages, in fact don't presume anything at all! All that's left to say is, well, Let the Battle Commence....

The Wire

Synopsis: Each season of The Wire focuses on a different facet of the city of Baltimore. They are, in order: the illegal drug trade, the port system, the city government and bureaucracy, the school system, and the print news media. The large cast consists mainly of character actors who are little known for their other roles. Simon has said that despite its presentation as a crime drama, the show is "really about the American city, and about how we live together. It's about how institutions have an effect on individuals, and how whether you're a cop, a longshoreman, a drug dealer, a politician, a judge or a lawyer, you are ultimately compromised and must contend with whatever institution you've committed to."
